So that was it? That was President Barack Obama’s really big jobs speech? The one that required a joint session of Congress to be both window dressing and whipping boy? The one that after his nearly three years in office is going to set things right? Honestly? “There should be nothing controversial about this piece of legislation,” Obama said last night in announcing his American Jobs Act. “Everything in here is the kind of proposal that’s been supported by both Democrats and Republicans — including many who sit here tonight.” Did you watch the speech and did you get anything new out of his latest speech?

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been devoting her vast intellect to the question of why the Evil Rich are so unwilling to give more of their money to Pelosi, Obama, and the other compassionate titans who manage our loving super-State. The rich already have so much money! They enjoy a "quality of life" far beyond anything Pelosi and the rest of the benevolent dictatorship could possibly approve of. What more do those greedy fatcats want? It looks as if Pelosi has finally figured it out, and you’re not going to like it. The answer is: immortality and museum quality art.

President Obama has requested a joint session of Congress at 8 p.m. next Wednesday to lay out new jobs proposals aimed at boosting the economy, setting up a direct confrontation with Republican presidential candidates who are scheduled to debate the same night in California. Howie asked should Boehner grant the President's obvious request to damage the republican debate.
