  1. Mitt's Flat 15%

    Audio

    01/18/2012

A Rasmussen tracking survey has former House Speaker Newt Gingrich just three points behind Governor Mitt Romney in the South Carolina primary race. Meanwhile Newt is making a big deal of Mitt Romney only paying 15% of his income in taxes. Guest host Joe Battenfeld did not have a problem with Mitt's percentage given that this was on investment income and Mitt already had paid taxes on the money that was invested.

The Romney campaign was forthcoming about the entire context of the quote in its press release. Howie was proud of thee tactics and thought it was indeed fair play.

    Audio

    11/10/2011

Rick Perry brushed off a gaffe from Wednesday's debate, saying one mistake may in fact humanize him and certainly will not tank his campaign the way some strategists are predicting. On Wednesday night in Michigan, Perry said he would cut three agencies from the federal government but could only name two of them. Howie wondered who had a worse week: Herman Cain or Rick Perry.
