The president is saying he wants a vote this week all of his people were out on the Sunday morning talk shows saw yesterday think. We want a vote this week. And the Republicans. Brought out their big gun over the weekend. The one person who can speak really strongly on this issue and is probably the national leader on on defeating Obama care. And that's our US senator Scott Brown Scott did the president the response to the president's. Weekly address. And he knocked it out of the park if you haven't seen it. And will be playing big chunks of it during the show today. It's amazing. To think that Scott Brown has become the national leader is making the most cogent argument. And he is the symbol of why Americans are opposed to health care. We've got all kinds this of this Obama care we have all kinds -- news for you this morning. This afternoon on what's going on. The president again is doing one of these campaign style trips he's headed out to straw Zanesville Ohio which is outside Cleveland. He supposed to speak at 1 o'clock in will be monitoring it for you but I think it's probably just gonna be the same old thing."

With our health care bill passes every one gets coverage it's gonna be great new -- be cheaper will save money and equality of everyone's health care will go up more to win of course none of that's true but that's what the president's trying to push. It has all of the pay -- the cornhuskers are -- sold the Louisiana purchase. It's not even merely well I wouldn't say the house bill was was all that great either. But it's even worse than the house bill was and they expect to use the members of the house because the of Scott Brown and they have to play these parliamentary games. To vote for the Senate bill. Now one member of our congressional delegation. To the surprise of ever -- I have to admit. Because he's one of the most liberal members he was came out in the US senate races a strong. Supporter of Obama care and and the house bill that was passed back on his watch. But congressman Mike chappell won a boost from Somerville and represents that district all around there. Put out a letter at the end of last week I just sort right after our show ended on Friday. Where he says he's gonna have a lot of problems voting for the Senate bill. Congressman capital wanna write for over year congress and the president have been working to craft comprehensive health care reform. I'm sure you're aware that we have a conference now but there's no conference committee. So their forum focusing on exactly how the Senate bill affects Massachusetts. How it's gonna affect us. Before I decide how much I will lead to the trusting -- conciliation process. So first he says I'm concerned that in reaction to other states specific language that is the now famous corn cornhuskers kickback. Legitimate state specific senate provisions will be dropped. In fact the president wants the Massachusetts. -- language out of this senate bill. It is my understanding without some type of file of language protecting Massachusetts. We could lose in the range of 300. Million dollars per year. I'm trying to gather more information about that but the could be very that if if my concerns are valid. He also talks about how the Senate bill would cut payment. To hospitals like the -- the Boston Medical Center and the Cambridge health alliance which a ball in his district. By 42. Billion dollars do you think the quality care will be better at Boston Medical Center are in Cambridge health alliance if the funding is cut by 42 billion dollars. He's looking into that aspect of the Senate bill. He also goes down to talk about how doctors get paid. And how. Due to the probability of much lower payment rates to Massachusetts doctors. This proposal seems that it is though would influence. Where doctors practice so that's discouraging practice in Massachusetts and we have a shortage of doctors now. How they treat patients and so called high cost areas and how doctors will be trained in America so he goes down point by point. Over what his problems are with the Senate bill and I have to tell you right I admire Mike cap of one offered do we -- We're gonna have him on the show later this week were hoping now Wednesday or Thursday to talk about this before the big vote. Massachusetts it should suffer a bit when you're one of the richest state in the country and we have a very rather nice headstart on this issue. It would only be fear from Massachusetts to get the short end of the stick on health care reform. So here of people moon bats responding to my cap of one -- letter. Saying that well that's fine with than -- Massachusetts gets the short end of the stick in this. Were ripped stage we can handle it so wide if we lose doctors if we lose funding. If our hospitals get underfunded and Q and give the treatment to people that they deserve all the things Mike apple one most concerned about. The other thing I wanna bring your attention on health care it's an amazing column written by Robert Samuelson the the much honored. Economist he writes a regular column in Newsweek so you know you know where that's coming from. But he got eight. Wonderful column today as we head into this week when the votes gonna be coming down Obama's proposal is the illusion of reform. One of the jaw in one of the one job of the president is to educate Americans about crucial national problems. On health care Barack Obama has failed. Almost everything you think you know about health care is probably wrong or at least half wrong. The -- education has worsened as the debate approaches its climax. So what Robert Samuelson is saying here is that the White House in President Obama has intentionally. Been going out of his way to not tell the truth about this legislation. Here's what he writes he goes on how often for example have you heard the emergency room argument. Yeah uninsured it is that use emergency rooms for primary care that's expensive and ineffective. Once they -- show for when Obama care passes they'll have regular doctor's care will improve cost will decline. Everybody wins it's a great argument. Unfortunately. It's and true. And he goes through all of the stats about why it's untrue and why that argument the president Obama's is simply dishonest. And then finally he into is Colin and in this is amazing from a Newsweek columnist he says. He's telling people what they want to hear what not what they need to know. Whatever their sins insurers I mean -- intermediaries. They pass along the costs of the delivery room. In that of the delivery system in 2009. The largest fourteen insurers had profits of roughly nine billion. And that approached point 04%. Of total health care spending. This hardly explains the high health costs. What people need to know was that Obama's plan of aids help -- major problems and would worsen the budget outlook. It's -- it's -- beat new spending program when government hasn't paid for spending programs that already had. If not now when if not us who Obama asked the question is if not now it's not us. The fact that someone like Mike -- me vote against it shows you there's the chance. There is a chance to reach these people. And the argument is definite Michael lays it out in this letter you can find is his lead at the chapel on a letter on the Internet -- does a good job laying it out is. That it's bad for Massachusetts. It's really bad for our state. And we're gonna get the short end on the Senate bill. By limiting your patient quote to handle which made security have 20% of the patients on Medicare and that's why you think that -- practice can handle. You don't take anymore Medicare patients. Let me also tell that element."
