I think for a lot of people would still -- It's still a topic of conversation you know what has happened there what's what's really motivated you to step away from the Democrats."

" Well I think my -- is just more in the middle. Not a conservative fiscal conservative and and that. Wing of the party I think used to be a bigger part. The Democratic Party are I in my first democratic election and state democratic election within the king. Dukakis -- 1982 when I was a kid got. And it was big -- game to get ready to get elected and almost get reelected governor and he was just fiscal conservative so. Well the last twenty years it's really strong. And I just really just just don't wanna be tied to the party orthodoxy and and he told how to think. It's a good idea comes from Republicans. Then we should we should it deter any nation embrace it but it comes the Democrat. Just too much partisanship. It doesn't mean all these fighting and I like this right lets anyone else there and they -- sitting around a table -- by not. But I do believe in the centrist position especially when it comes. In the cheek Chief Executive Officer kind of how we run cities in Massachusetts. We don't read them based on party issue creation -- nonpartisan races and that's really kind of how I grew up in politics and -- work. In city government to sixteen years and I was always do our part said -- even -- that the this just feel especially in -- I think people. -- really looking for alternatives to the same old same old. Where Republicans say one thing because they say Democrats say it's long it. -- Democrats is something else Republicans say it's wrong when it the other day in this recession. We gotta solve problems."

" Well -- this is the issue I think for most people. In the commonwealth is that they are being taxed out of existence -- all of these free programs were were told about cost one hackable lock. Of money and for people who were really trying to make their way in the world real honest to goodness get up that. An ungodly hour in the morning get home and an ungodly hour work all day they look at the paycheck and frankly can't wait too much of it is going to waste."

" I am I I live I live that lifestyle and their middle class person. I used to own my own business so I know exactly what people yelling I've got two kids and college. It's -- and the last thing people want to see your money. The money that the government case was wasted. And they also want to give more bit -- government especially. Even if it's not wasted the reality is people have to do would last people have to live within their means -- go bankrupt. For some reason government doesn't feel like the rules apply to them as we start to go Beckel we just raised. Prices and didn't just can't do that so. I still very strong it always struck stronger Democrat that we have to live within our means then and unfortunately. I what -- lot of support it so I decided. Just striker as an independent and the reality -- just is that. More and more people every day are opting out of the two party system and either on enrolling or or setting up an independent so. I'm not really in the minority here and it's just it just never been -- a way that I think people feel confident that. It -- won't be wasted and I can guarantee you that if you vote for me. In 2010 net -- will not be wasted."

" Let's talk about the the mechanics of the campaign running. As any independence and as we were just discussing with they would -- my -- the you know this idea that. If there's an anger out there that says we've got to do something."

" The governor there's -- be changes in the state house in the -- state senate nine -- you know you've been going head to head with those guys the entire time you billionaire because."

" What but how do you go out and recruit people for for the state -- the state senate seats as well."

" I I'm not gonna be recruiting people. I want focused on my race I -- I when I sent a message to both Republican and Democrat that there is a new way to do business. And I you know I cannot just -- people in this game. Definitions and everyone else and that I've I Serb and a lot of people out there are no a lot of individuals. And I think you have to do them as individuals many -- it across individuals they don't necessarily want -- to taxes but if there are no other options up here they're gonna hear what. Illegally shipped -- to do what they're gonna take -- easy way out. But there is no easy way here. Am I agreement Christian it changed me -- placed but I think he started I'm hopeful I think people I don't give people a chance to start the talk. And it will be my job to convince people that matter what party they're -- If somebody wants to promote it a bad piece of legislation. And I want to veto it as governor. I'm ready to pull together and Democrats in Republican that can sustain a veto. The Senate messaging use the leverage of the -- it started up just elect a Republican. We could have five votes in the Senate. Very few votes in the house and and people are gonna start split along party lines because there is no upside to some of these Democrats to support. It Republican and and in those situations."

" But -- well where's the upside then for those Democrats to support Tim Kay hill who they think of as a Republican pretty much anyway."

" What won't say I you know there are still a lot of fiscal conservatives. In the building. I don't think they have a voice in our particular power doesn't take a majority to sustain your veto. I'm a rarity takes 13 party in either bridge to uphold the veto and sometimes that's what you have to be able to go well was able to do it. In 1990 in 1992 when he had enough. Republicans -- could sustain a veto and I think. Get ballots in anywhere Christiana I need to Charlie Baker what we're seeking to balance government -- On one party rule. And even though it -- was a Democrat all my -- up until now I've always been uncomfortable one party rule because it be edited it eat it doesn't work. It doesn't work for the people there worked for the party but it doesn't work to the people solve. We are seeking to balance things out. And I guarantee you I will be as much a check. But anybody in that building. As either of the Republican in fact I think have been more successful because that work that this is seven years and it contributes. " You know they amid the interesting thing as I look at it Tim and I don't dispute this idea of of one party rule being a terrible thing I mean I mean. Became a Republican when I left. The Democrat party although I felt frankly that they had left me a long time ago. But I am not enamored of the idea of of one party rule regardless of which party it is I do I don't think that's necessarily. The good situation but SM listen read to you you you talk about working with the guys that are then error these guys are the problem in the first place that they got -- here they're they they. They're they're drunk with his power they they don't I don't think they see the idea. That if your regular working class person a middle class person in the commonwealth that those guys are strangling. Their drama goes --"

" Barry I I don't disagree but I also. I I wanna be pragmatic about it I mean governor Ronnie put a big effort in to change. The makeup of the legislature any -- bears are actually added a democratic seat. Back in 2000 short think it was -- bill weld tried and it effectively actually lost seats so I. I don't disagree but -- that you -- of unsuccessful. People are gonna get the message I talked to a lot of Democrats who are actually quietly elected Democrats applauding them -- have -- actual courage to stand up with me. Because you're afraid of what it will be to them with the party. But unable to break stroke. It will send every outing messenger will be shot heard from the key to the virtue it. It is possible to break streak. From either party or orthodoxy. It is possible to govern from the center because at the end of the day that's where most people are they want us to be reasonable. In all they wanted to do regardless of the issues is covering. And you know basically what our government within the money that we have with the least amount of waste possible so that they can."

" Keep this much money -- say they are and that's really should be. Our goal but it is doable so and I think it's much more realistic than what Kristi is proposing. Because it seemed. And you know the old saying everyone hates the legislature but they like their individual legislator yeah of course there were congress because most people take care debates you. But it won't work has not yet been on the inside I was any inside I felt comfortable in there and I -- they had some friends I'd still be. But it just would not replace I was comfortable and not I don't like to take orders from people who I don't think. Are representing the best interest in the middle class right now it doesn't appear that the democratic leadership. So -- he's talking about -- talking about the party. It's not have the best interest of the middle class and hard nose at people at a taking apart these tax increase."

How marriage people have been through me at how little slack have gotten out I'm certain that there are people that won't they haven't talked to that don't like me.
