We will speak with Christyabout this story... |
" And."
" ghosting from a new balanced world headquarters building. There she is gone Hollywood thriller show I have failed over and over and over again in my life."
" We're not starting over we are. You're. A large way through this process. The presence -- take all those strands together move this process -- get something done is -- your room. We need every."
" Single one of you develop your talents and your skills and your intellect to -- help our -- won't solve. Our most difficult problems. If you don't -- that. If you quit on school. You're not just putting on yourself you're putting on your cup glory card."
" She hustled after being grab me she said can you sit in airplane seat would be arms go. I told her yes I could sit in the seat where the arms don't I -- many times and never had a problem. This he says well you're not trying to date now."
" How uncle Lawrence. They give us impressionists who being. We're too fat to fly -- off color -- W arterial radio network."
" Jeff can't sitting in for how we. -- how we car show."
" He is he is not -- was he was -- it -- which story you were reading last night this morning. Christie may also running for senate's not running for senate back running for governor. So we said let's let's chat with Christie and find out exactly what the story is that Tim Kay hill. Earlier today -- big announcement he's definitely running for governor Wright no no great shock their -- Tim -- state treasurer. Why is going to be with us little bit later in the hour but let's go to -- to Christie amigos say Christie howry."
" Well Jeff might be of course the Mac bailed them."
" Well thank you so much it's nice to hear you again are right so what's the deal what are you running for governor. -- what happened of the whole senate thing."
" That the Senate thing was that we were contacted yesterday by people in Washington. We we they they put together a scenario that. Staff like. They presented it to us. Late yesterday afternoon. We we took a look at it and I went out to dinner with my wife Procter and -- the united -- Respect didn't a courtesy to the Republicans we so we get right back to them which we did it we -- running for governor we always were and we always well."
" All right so so tell me how we got twisted NM because I. I read this and I thought what this is going to be interesting because say it looks like we've got some. Some folks with some gumption now standing up as Republicans in Massachusetts and lord knows -- long time since we've been able to say that. And it just seemed like your day it was a done deal for the Senate ended opened the way for a for for baker over the governor's side."
" What it may it may have been a done deal but other people are the Senate but. Eight that the final decision comes down to me and I. I just wanted to stay home I I feel like. My -- has always been in Massachusetts than. It's the only officer I've ever really. One or two words to it I get to add -- What it I'm not a career politician -- From job to job to job been in public life. I think that I know the problem the Massachusetts the state thing. I know the issues I noticed. I have some great ideas. And in in the past that's always didn't want to take on the big media big government big business and big labor so our you can change the direction the message despite being governor he can't do -- being anything -- in in elective office so. I crank the governor out. I was the first one and it in the Republican Party or it does what with the independents so wherein."
" Right so this Lansing governor is what you're looking for."
" It -- the only thing I was looking for and my idea."
" There's nothing else really -- Erik -- I understood there you have it. Because bashed Republican senatorial committee is looking for Republican candidates. There fiscal conservative. That poll pretty well they have favorability. Rates pretty well and they can raise a lot of money and it they -- to. Where were ahead of Barack Obama. A presidential. Two. You know campaign chairman got the governor Matt used by our board and we're what we're gonna we're gonna pull away through even more so is the state. Continues to spiral down. -- that this one party system gives us all kinds of abuse and corruption. And is they keep raising taxes we have to stand here and stop them before they raised taxes again. Well."
" Yeah hey it is almost like saying to that guy you know way to stop before before I kill again. Right I mean they did that there are addicted to this."
" It it look at let it get this -- Who what where or that the three people backed up the -- to 3%. We -- or cutting 10%. Of the state -- what that's about 8300 people who say about 600 million jobs. -- floor. We're we're actually -- it. Eighty million dollars that Deval Patrick the Democrats want to give the legal immigrants but they helped here when we can't pay. For our own people here. It and look where it would just cutting despite the government and restoring a lot of power into the cities and towns. What basically working on 2000 into. Local -- numbers today bitten -- the recipe for disaster for the humble."
" Arts so my question to you Kristy is is your trembling throughout the commonwealth that he is there enough anger out there about Deval Patrick's nonsense or dirty get the sense that the people still have very short memories."
" Hello Jeff it's getting worse that I would we would I'd much for the parade on Monday in Marlboro they had open 8090000. People there. This that the -- that we were getting. Just that the other thing that hand claps you're getting for being dead even the only gubernatorial candidate they had. And listening to people little marching along talking about how bad is that how how much they wanna take back the government others -- inside. Of these special interest. Racing -- taxes. Cutting services. Make it it's so objectionable -- so so difficult to live here in the commonwealth well they just -- And that's what businesses and people -- who have been -- so. -- I transferred. They are that it might political create relief for states that it way back when. In 1990 and I thought people were angry -- danger to you remember what it was like yeah then yeah you were with the other Republicans came in with us. -- lance black you know sixteen Republican state senator sleep 39 state reps the -- genocide. Senator's sixteen state that's now but people are really in we've we have a lot of people running throughout this. I mean this thing and wouldn't do everything we can to win Dick Morris is running this campaign and we couldn't really yeah -- we have a regular combination to win their."
" But tell me a little bit as it plays out -- with -- with Tim Kay hill getting in the as an independent you certainly have some experience. Looking at say independence situations. --"
" You would thank you very -- look at the big feet seven 88 even Tim it it and I'd like Tim and I respect him up but he -- Career politicians 88 -- two time elected constitutional officer he was an officer. In that county government ended in city government to. These are all insiders that are running that they have no idea what it's like to be on the outside to run a business. Be up against what it is each and every day. That that -- it and why small business men and women I just can't take it anymore in this state that it that's why the jobs -- just pulling out and know what's coming Jeff. Let's bring him his job so that cooperation to Massachusetts because their employees can't afford to live yet."
" Well I and that's the point NN that's whole I'm I'm I'm so hopeful. That you'll end. -- maybe others and understand that as well but somebody has got to make clear that. That these these absolutely. Ridiculous policies from a from Deval Patrick. Are are really. Ultimately killing the commonwealth they are chasing people. Out of the state. They are saying to people you know what you simply cannot afford to leave here and those individuals are leaving but I think you're right when you talk about a business. I you talk about a big business is big business in America looks at Massachusetts and says all hope. That's where we've got to locate. And frankly there are no small businesses left I'm talking about a guy was a plumber our carpenter he can't afford to do business I hear anymore either."
" But it's -- what there's the with the issues that that you talked about with the issue of illegal immigration and that caught in the commonwealth of billion dollars -- year. To the service utility illegal immigrants. And the underground economy that it's creating its Europe plumber or -- for our most someone that the landscape we are painter. You can't compete with someone that would bet that -- bartering or take its ascent at the table and not paying any of the benefits. -- that regular businessman that implement that wanted to do it. On the up and up and everybody wants to do the big bill and the right thing because we applaud here we understand how great country isn't can be. You can't compete with this underground economy and that. Heard that inhibiting the growth of small business and at peace what you thought they get that clear and just saying. We're out of here I hit somebody of people -- in my age bracket this -- one or two more years that this in this city and somebody I'm going to attached restate. A place where you could afford to live and and Massachusetts with all of corruption and its eruption back. And be the most -- used that there take it each and every day when they read about the the pension abuses and be ethics. Violations and off. It's something that that people are just burning it that we -- so I think that this is our last best chance. What people are angry. And it that we have to really turn this around or Massachusetts will become just the you know get the -- has been. It and it never should ever ever be that but that's will return and."
" Now I let me ask you something you mentioned the -- National Republican Senatorial Committee obviously looking for a for a strong candidate that's something that they haven't done realistically in the past because there's never really been no. Well campaign has never been -- a contest there so so they're talking about spending some money on the Senate side but what about. On the gubernatorial race are you hearing from people and other parts of the country saying you know what for the first time in a long time looks like Massachusetts is in play yeah where will they help you out."
" Now. You know -- that and that's -- and say that everybody's they -- collects really we've we've got to beat that the -- The people with it very its state senate and -- got a well financed the that he is it. It -- early campaign then do it right. So that it not. You know I spent. It capital resources with the Democrats that we need more work courses that that we don't need anymore shall -- we get enough about -- people that are that will. Well we'll stay here are willing to work will -- get all that I think. That brought the board feet or more people each and everyday businesspeople. There always give it you know. One more appeals shot and really put it where we're lucky we were tried and and why did we do we get in there. Anybody that comes to work in my administration and have to sign a document. There's been not going to be a lot of the statement and you listen to meet you wanna come -- in my -- administration you're completely new public service not self service."
" I you know dangerously what we're talking about the state house in in the state senate let Hillary talk about that for a second Christie Christie my host joining us -- are running for governor not percent of that is -- checked -- again. There right that's still stick right. -- Jack how I Christie is running out for governor but let's talk about the state senate and day it in the Statehouse for a second because they're up there there's been so many years. Where the Republicans have not even put people up right I mean this just a foregone conclusion here we've got -- ground swell. All of it its anger is that I don't know any other way to describe it is anger its anger with Deval Patrick its anger was some of these these national. Policies as well. There is a real chance up for for the first time in a long time to not only have a Republican. Sitting in the governor's office but there's a real chance to put people in the Senate. In the house. That gives a damn about working people and about small businesspeople."
" Well we've we've forgotten. What got -- elected back in in that nineteen 1990. My and and you know -- what we have billions groundswell that we spoke to issues. That that that they -- people really cared about. You know taxes seven regulation. I think of that nature so we could build businesses that build jobs than -- and create income in all this year though what I'm saying is that people. Basically step up and they're just taking it upon themselves and all in an almost patriotic. Manner that we have to take our government backed we can't -- and the way I've stated being run. And we just have to do without seeing a lot of different type of folks. Come forward at this point don't forget -- Mitt Romney ran a 131 candidates since 2004. We lost the receipt you know because. The date they didn't state it is look to and they didn't conveyed a message that people will -- he fought back then. So what we're trying to rebuild the Republican Party -- at many work courses with us because just getting to the governor's office. You know I hope people feel that some type -- semblance of balance there but it is that we believe. Senators and we need representative -- and that that's why you are -- in the forefront any time someone says they're gonna run percent of those runs for the host site picked up my checkbook or cut him up by an adult personal check to help their campaign out and that's what we need. We need to have them well funded so that we can take on the Democrats to change what's going on than it -- this embarrassment that we felt state government."
" Wait a you know -- that I think is one of the vital part -- is not just the governor's office and as you point out it really is not enough just to have. A Republican sitting in the governor's office you've got to have the folks. In the state house in the state senate say see you say your picking up where you're your own checkbook 500 dollars for anybody who's committed to that."
" Right right -- and the other issue is that I I won't take any money that this state committee. It gets in donations so like in election cycle digits about a million and up to two million bucks in the past all the people that top of the ticket you know the constitutional officers the governor lieutenant governor treasure they've taken all that money Jeff and it's been nothing. Nothing left. Full of people that we need in this -- in in the house I can't tell you how many times people tell me I ran two years ago I got nothing. Not so is that that money -- there -- I'd pledged not to take that money not to accept it that that that that has got to go to like units -- We're the Senate and house and in some states is really got -- municipal offices still so. That's what we're doing and eight it's working well this for what five points ahead of Governor Patrick. We're ahead of our our Republican opponent and we think we have the right message here and that that the and I've got the courage to take on. What is it's gone on -- Beacon Hill I'm an outsider there was ever gonna get confused -- jet that being insider and we're ready to go."
" If I tell ya I wanna run for office can you send me 500 dollars a deliberate tomorrow. -- Listen Christy let me let. Let let me just ask you about the the issue that every single person in the commonwealth -- of -- almost daily basis. Mass Pike in things related to where we ended."
" Look at -- state the turnpike authority has well over 500 billion dollars in. In. Government securities in cash and government security. That they get money coming in hand over fist they just tried to expose. But there rub it -- expect that over there always have to do to do what is right. Is to fill out some of our at -- their payoff the western pike who wants richer about a 160 million bucks and take down the totals from. Route 28 we want 28 all the way to me up -- if those people live the most. Metro west central -- in western mass but a 130 million dollar tax cut. Or wrote dictate what twice Jeff."
" I you mentioned -- that to your polling shows -- head. It in both the Republican primary. And head to head with Deval Patrick obviously as we mentioned Tim -- hill's gonna join us in a moment he said he's in this as an independent what is your polling showing you with with Tim -- hole in the race."
" It actually happened poked him because he hadn't detonated. And -- proposal speaking about. We'll -- polls that make it by. You know the -- corporation which -- wanted to you know the better polling -- groups in the country -- stopped 500 500 respondents each time so but we're we're polling right now and we'll see what people say about them -- but I think the more the -- it's great it's great for the -- great for the state and -- we've -- at -- so much to do -- the more people integrate better ideas the better. A discussion we'll have a better debate who have. But so I think that can brings a lot of good in the race but it's gonna be very difficult ivory and as an independent. I spent you know. Four million of my own dollars because we wouldn't take money from lobbyists or anybody that worked for the commonwealth or anybody that did business with the commonwealth so that that's -- all the usual suspects you know so but general you know -- is -- inside eight played the game real well and we'll see what happens."
" All right listen -- and I appreciated taken time to be here I am I'm sure will speak again soon."
" And it -- that 500 winner of editor runs."
" are small unmarked bills. -- Thank you Christie Christie bios who is running for governor all right last night people thought he was running for senate and as if you've followed this. Kristi says look he was that he was approached by folks of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Looking for Strom Republican to run percent of but today he says no. He's running for governor he's always been running for governor that's what he wants to do -- Woolsey. I don't know I I again one of the things that he mansion and I think is vitally important when you look at this. If you're conservative not a Republican and if -- conservative in the commonwealth -- lord knows there are more conservatives than anybody wants to give. Credit to. It's not just enough to have somebody in the governor's office we've seen that over and over and over again. You've got a contest every state senate race you've got a contest every state -- race. I will see how plays up Tim KL BS state treasurer is gonna join us for a couple moments he made it official this morning he is in fact going to run. As an independent for governor. And we'll chat with Pamela see what he's think at 1877 Howie -- 18774694322. If you wanna jump in on it as well love to chat with you. Jeff -- sitting in for how we idiots that Howie -- show. It's how we Carr what's it like the beautiful people --"
