What's happening to their jobs jobs going overseas wagers are frozen. I mean most people in America worried about being able to pay the bills not just the gas bill but that tuition bill the mortgage. The the home heating costs. That I held here on the lips. And this guy wants to reduce it to to work against what the Republicans still it is ridiculous. These guys have run the country below last. Seven years the -- six years. We now are divided power over the last year and -- fortunately the president vetoes of things we do the report children's health care vetoed. One vote difference so they override stem cell research. C -- one vote difference on the override. So there's an enormous differences here John McCain's. What Scott McCain voted with George Bush 95%. Of the time last year 90% of the time over eight years. And most Americans have come the conclusion that 90% of George Bush is the percent more than they could stand it it's."

About the terms of our boat we were not voting to give the president the authority. The president promised us that he would in fact used the authority to go in unilaterally. Did not build a coalition to not do planning -- not exhaust the remedies in the United Nations. All the things like -- and -- the president broke the provost John McCain never required those promises John McCain didn't care that they were broke it. John McCain was -- of the acolytes of the conservative view the you can just invade Iraq and transform the middle reached. And he has never acknowledged the degree to which these guys. Made a mistake. Most Americans have come the conclusion that this was a -- a mistake. To put America in the middle of -- civil war in a place where there were no nuclear weapons and ignore the place where there are nuclear weapons Pakistan. And ignore the place where the terrorist Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden did they are which is northwest territories to Pakistan and Afghanistan. Finally there administration's waking up to the problem of Afghanistan John McCain. Was the last person to come on board insights always got to put some troops into Afghanistan. Barack Obama's senate over a year ago. So what we want is a pleasant United States whose judgments about these things are correct. And I believe Barack Obama is incorrect and John McCain has been unfortunately just unbelievably -- about expects."

What's -- you what's your sense of the dynamic behind the sequence."

" lucky in the day that I was in -- only their third day I just I didn't see that you know people are trying to create. Because they'd need that kind of consulate. Let let me just say -- that you're exposed and other -- both front process you know what -- is like. People kind of stopped for a moment. And an American people want us to stop for a moment to really focus. On America on the problems that we -- which are just gigantic. They're bigger now than they were before for the simple reason. This administration and this is not rhetoric this is not politics or partisanship. Is back so there's John Adams said. Blacks are still on the -- they -- you know that fact is were hurting. America has lost influence in the world there's no other way that North Korea could just go ahead and be building more bombs no other way that Iran could snubbed its nose -- just go ahead and build. Spirit about 45 countries. So Al Qaeda is stronger Osama bin Laden is still alive. We are bogged down in Iraq here at home our economy is in shambles Freddie Mae Freddie or Freddie Mac Freddie -- Fannie -- May well be taken over by the federal government you have an enormous foreclosure problem. People are worried about jobs wagers are stuck. But but inflation doesn't start. And and and the cost of living -- instruct it's going out. So people know. That things aren't right. And there are they don't cheer when they don't care a wit about. Hillary Clinton Barack Obama problems -- so that they want a serious discussion. About how we're gonna fix the problems that this country. And and that's what I want."

" There's a lot of Americans it's a great question Margaret I think the reason is first of all. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton -- long drawn out primary campaign and based on McCain did not. And that automatically nearest and has and secondly. A presidential races are always party nowadays we know this historically. There's an automatic 42 the 45%. Per each Canada and inside you're fighting for sort of 10% in between. Thirdly a lot of people still don't know either candidate completely. And so McCain is trying to cement themselves in as the mavericks and -- trying to define Barack Obama as anything but the rich normal Americans and Barack Obama has to get himself known now undefined. Most importantly people need to understand a lot of people see these problems. But they've had the ability to blame them on one side or the other what we're -- Well -- they are cynical exactly. But they also play you know they'll like congress so that they think it Democrats are to blame -- Israel but the fact is the Republicans -- the house. The Republicans ran the Senate. And Iran the White House from the year 2000. All the way through to 2006. We have only been in control. Or a year and a half now in the inaccurate. We passed a lot of things the president has vetoed some of them. But in addition. We've been blocked in the Senate people don't really -- a lot of people in America just don't realize. That it takes sixty votes to get anything done through the silent and time and again we've gotten more filibusters in the last year and a half. In the last year even. That we've -- at any time in America's 200 point nine year history we've never had as many filibusters in a full two year period. As we've had an -- here the Republicans are blocking and blocking and it only takes. Forty votes. To boarding -- stop something from happening. And and so we need more votes in the United States senate that's what I hope changing in. Will will will beat the obstructionist Republicans -- no apparent. -- I like he's good guide but he has been stopping. Good energy policy of going through likewise say you know we go around the country. You could find these Republicans who go home and tell people what they're doing that in fact they're really not doing those."

" Senator so much to talk about we opiate consider coming back on RKO and another -- on -- and I I want to go back to break here quickly to Iraq because this seems to be a lot of commentary both sides of the -- at least is the way I -- that acknowledges the surge which McCain really aligned himself with. And critic got criticized Rumsfeld Cheney and bush for the execution that the surge seems to have provided. The requisite political opportunities now they have been closure on it but that the surge has worked what's that what -- GR response to that. Observation is a default is if it's a false to say that the steerage has led to a drop in civilian and an end military deaths what should take on the --"

" It's using its confusing -- at the honest answer is that the surge has had some positive impact. Where there have been additional troops which nobody doubted responsible. It is we've been able to raise the level of security. But the purpose search was not just to raise the level of security the purpose of the Serbs. Surge was to give the Iraqis. That they're breathing space within which they were to make the decisions politically. That would allow American troops to come home. Now the fact is that the surge. They could never have succeeded. Militarily by itself. If the Iraqi. Shakes hadn't made their own decision politically. That they were going to take on Al Qaeda. And that decision was made a political decision not a military one. Was made prior to the surge ever being announced. In Anbar Province the so called. Aaron those Sunni awakening the sons of Iraq as they're called. Started. In the year preceding the search. And I have met with those with the governor vanguard that -- shakes the beta decided on narrow and they didn't like Al Qaeda. They were tired of Al Qaeda blowing up their villages boy you know stealing their women to marry them. Whole host of things and got angrier that it native political decision to fight back. And it was after that. That the surge was announced and the suddenly. Engaged -- us whether that be part of the insurgency. So it's the politics that I have to change. And John McCain sort of tries to benefit. Certainly the good luck if you will and good fortune that the -- made that political decision. And take an agenda in the end John McCain remains. Fixated on a military. Solution. And and has been opposed to the very thing that now George Bush's even come do that Prime Minister Maliki has come through. Which is it's time to set a date for withdrawal that's Barack Obama's position that's the Democrat position. And -- George Bush and the prime minister of Iraq are implementing -- they're they're Democrats position. They Obama position. And John McCain is out there on his -- that's the real issue in this campaign you have a man who has never admitted it was a mistake. And who thinks that going into Iraq is the okay kind of thing to do and when your stereo and Iran. You're staring at Russia you're looking around as I want better judgment in the White House frankly."

Something light. That is going to connect with the voters they don't only money here policy that registers with them I think you when I've talked about this many times when they cast their ballot they want to cast their ballot. For somebody they think they light and likes them backed semi naked have a beer with somebody they could hang out with and feel comfortable with so."
