A two-year legal battle over who was responsible for Michael Jackson's sudden death came to a dramatic close Monday as a California jury found Dr. Conrad Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter . Dr. Murray appeared to show no emotion as the verdict was read by court clerk Sammi Benson, but La Toya Jackson, the late pop icon's sister, let out a loud, but short, scream. Did Conrad Murray deserve to be found guilty?

More fromJen Brien
A US government mental hospital is seeking to free John Hinckley Jr , the man who shot and tried to kill the then-president Ronald Reagan in 1981, according to media reports. Hinkley, 56, was committed to St Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington in 1982 after being found not guilty by reason of insanity in the shooting of Reagan and three others. The hospital's lawyers and doctors filed a motion under seal asking Hinckley be placed on "convalescent leave". But, prosecutors, who quoted it in their filing, asked a closed court on Friday not to release the man they said is "capable of great violence", the report said. Should he be released from prison?

More fromWRKO-Michele McPhee
Opening statements in Casey Anthony’s first-degree murder trial did not disappoint: They offered jurors two wildly opposing theories about the death of the young woman’s 2-year-old daughter nearly three years ago. Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick told a condensed and compelling story filled with previews about the state’s deep circumstantial case, its forensic evidence and the first revelation: that duct tape was used by Casey to overcome Caylee Marie in the summer of 2008. Defense attorney Jose Baez, meanwhile, delivered a series of supposed bombshells: Caylee never went missing. She accidentally drowned in the Anthony family pool June 16, 2008. will this defense work?

Mark Kerrigan Verdict

More fromWRKO-Michele McPhee
The brother of figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was acquitted Wednesday of manslaughter in the death of their 70-year-old father by a jury that apparently agreed with his defense that his father died of heart disease. Mark Kerrigan, 46, was convicted, though, of assault and battery in a January 2010 conflict with his father, Daniel Kerrigan, at the family’s home in Stoneham, just north of Boston. Nancy Kerrigan and her mother, Brenda, embraced and cried after the verdict was read; the skater had supported her brother and attended every day of the weeklong trial in Woburn Superior Court. Should this case have gone to trial?
