Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas skipped the White House invitation to honor the Bruins deciding to use a special moment for the organization, the team and its fans to voice his displeasure with the U.S. government. On his facebook page he wrote "I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People". Howie thought Tim did the right thing.
