    More fromHowie Carr

Mitt Romney has opened up a double-digit lead in two new polls and has made his become more and more feisty in regard to rival Newt Gingrich. His latest assaults have characterized the former House speaker as a whiner whose questionable ethics disqualify him for the office of the President. Howie asked the callers if Newt loses by double digits, should Newt withdraw from the race.

  1. Cain Leading The Way

    Audio

    10/21/2011

Businessman Herman Cain is now leading the Republican presidential field in Iowa, the site of the first contest on the road to the nomination. A survey of likely caucus-goers shows Cain leading with 28 percent, followed by Mitt Romney at 21 percent and Rep. Ron Paul at 10, a Rasmussen Reports poll shows. Howie has not yet mad up his mind who he wants.

  2. Is it time to tax the rich more?

    Audio

    09/19/2011

In a blunt rejoinder to congressional Republicans, President Barack Obama called for $1.5 trillion in new taxes Monday, part of a total 10-year deficit reduction package totaling more than $3 trillion. He vowed to veto any deficit reduction package that cuts benefits to Medicare recipients but does not raise taxes on the wealthy and big corporations. "We can't just cut our way out of this hole," the president said. Is it the right thing to do to tax the rich?

  3. Perry the Winner?

    Audio

    09/08/2011

After the debate last night Howie agreed the question ahead may be this: Can Romney or others raise enough questions about Perry's ability to attract the independent voters needed to win the White House to curtail the Texas governor's stunning rise among Republican conservatives?

  4. Will Sarah Palin Run for President?

    Audio

    09/02/2011

The conventional wisdom in Washington regarding Sarah Palin and the 2012 GOP presidential primary has more or less gelled—she's not running. The pugnacious and polarizing former Alaska governor has waited too long, missed too many important deadlines, and just doesn't seem ready for the rigors of the campaign trail, the thinking goes. In her absence, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Texas Gov. Rick Perry have soaked up much of the grass-roots conservative excitement which Palin would need to mount a serious run in the GOP primary. Her antics have alienated too many Republican bigwigs, and she hasn't made any effort to rebuild the burnt bridges. Should Sarah Palin Run for President?

  5. Anthony Weiner Bows Out

    Audio

    06/16/2011

Embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner resigned today after admitting to sexually charged relationships with women on Facebook and Twitter. "Today I am announcing my resignation ... so my colleagues can get back to work, my neighbors can choose a new representative, and most importantly, that my wife and I can continue to heal from the damage that I've caused," the New York Democrat said. Howie wanted to know who was saddened and who was gladdened.
