The Cape Ann Farmers Market was one of 32 farmers markets and related organizations across the state which received $52,981 in grants, the Patrick administration announced Tuesday.The grants will benefit shoppers who use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps, to purchase food from farmers markets. The grants will provide incentives to SNAP participants to shop at farmers markets. Howie was very put out by the idea that welfare recepients were eating better than he did.
