4-27 Outrage of the Day-Illegal who rear ended State Rep. Deported

What’s it take for an illegal immigrant to get booted out of Massachusetts? Here’s one way: Smash into a state rep’s car while driving drunk, taunt police with anti-American slurs, then get thrown into jail. You may remember the case of Isaias Naranjo, the drunken illegal dressed in Mariachi pants who rear-ended state Rep. Michael Moran last May and reignited a heated debate in the State House over immigration laws. Despite the fact he admitted being in the U.S. illegally, state police were prohibited from reporting Naranjo to immigration authorities because Gov. Deval Patrick had rescinded an enforcement agreement between state police and the feds. And just days before the accident, Moran, who describes himself as “pro-illegal immigrant,” joined other Democrats in rejecting a GOP bill to crack down on illegal immigration. Did he get what he deserved and will he make his way back to Massachusetts?
