Democratic presidential candidates' forum

I watched the debate last night and I enjoyed it I did I sat down to watch this I was not looking forward to it I was. It wasn't it wasn't a sense of dread it was just a sense of almost we Venus -- wariness we reduce that. Gee you know this is narrow niche audience and I've got to tell -- that I came away from the debate thinking really kind of holding two simultaneous thoughts. This was the best and the worst of American politics the best in this way the highs the high points to for me. With a specific issues which were raised. And to watch the candidate's response to these specific issues three jumped out at me I'm sure there are others that really caught your attention as well. Pensions pensions in the way we treat -- failed to treat and protect. Pensions for ordinary workers are might sound like a Connie -- might sound like a what left wing -- I might sound like a socialist. The is something fundamentally wrong with the United States of America when we allow workers pensions. To be just to ripped away by bankruptcy court -- other legal maneuvering. That is a disgrace and I'm glad the question came up and I hope is still I hope there is a lot of focus on that in the months ahead to Republicans should be put. Their feet should be put to the fire on that one as should the Democrats in I'm not looking for a left wing. Loony left socialist responsible looking for an intelligent way to legitimately protect the tensions that have been parent by American workers sometimes over 30 or 40 year Korea have a rip away from them in nearly 80 years is absolutely savage and it should not be allowed or -- permitted in this country in the United States of America. That was one of the issues I -- Another issue I enjoyed was they continued focus on Iraq it's absolutely he -- That Iraq continue to be played out and developed by both the Democrats and Republicans so we'd the American people. Can make the most intelligent choice possible and I also like the presentation of China. Is it an ally is it a follow an adversary or competitor whatever words you want to choose what to the candidates think about when they think of China. Because clearly it is emerging continues to emerge as an incredibly potent force. Any potential threat to the United States that's what I liked about the debate he is what I did not like about the debate. The antics. Of the audience people jumping up and down with the -- T shirts on and wave at behind the the moderator and try to get the F face on television it's juvenile it's what kind of expect that. It's the sophomoric stuff you expect outside outside a ball park after somebody's consume too much wine too much via rating Andy.

And.

what I would call the rudeness of the audience you might not agree with what candidates stripper candidate Finneran has to say in a particular audience on a particular response to particular question. But to boo to try to -- to try to interrupt an an and drowned the guest speaker's response out is not right it is sometimes

for media tactical antic at labor rallies where they're looking for you to -- deflect the entire tablet of commandments that they issue to candidates. And I also think that I approached this at least thinking that this would be a very narrow lead based and therefore almost selfish debate a boat. The things that only labor cares about including some things such as Mosher a department of Labor Department labor policies like debates that focus on larger national issues issues of concern to all Americans. Not just union officials. Now look a Venice supportive of the unions as as anybody of ever met. Received there endorsement many many times of the different can't races that I reentry but also have my fights in my disagreements with the union leaders in union membership so right stood -- in my heels and would stand my ground on something that I thought they were wrong about I like the specific issues that we're raised and I have to overall say I'm glad I sat down watched this debate. It reached the level that I did not expect and so congratulations to everybody who was involved -- it was MSNBC. That did this 1 and obviously the AF LC -- oh this was held. At an an historic place. His soldier's field at Chicago's very well known place legendary place. And I continue to think that Hillary Clinton finds ways to distinguish yourself from the pack handy if you can go to that that cut just so I can share with RKO audience kind of the flavor right from the stock.

It's an extraordinary accomplishment as far as I'm concerned. But she's an -- outlined its soldiers field. And that is a good way to connect to regular Americans had to dispel a dispute the notion that she's an ice lady. That she doesn't honesty and ordinary Americans their passions the hobbies there excitement about certain things and she ties have been very very nicely to the historic dimension of her candidacy she is a woman she's the only one up there on the stage and she is she was at least hypothetically you know kind of an up into hyperbolic -- cents on the -- that is a great great way to stand up the debate. Listen I told you that I found myself in the odd position. Of being in agreement with the one anomaly Dennis Kucinich. If he did not see this debate you have no idea what you missed because I'll say this for Kucinich I think he's is crazy.

Of that book. And I don't yes that's that that's the appropriate music. Appropriate soundtrack here I think Kucinich is as crazy as a bed bug. And I find myself in almost total disagreement with every one of his issues. But give credit to the guy. He rings the music to that stage. He knows what he stands for. He knows what he's going to fight for there is no hesitation there is no reference to notes -- is nothing but passion unrestrained passion in his response to the questions will we he stands at what he will fight hard to get I disagree with all of it except fought. An extraordinary moment and it brought a smile to life.

And there are still level of notoriety that attaches to -- I think it's silly absolutely absurd to suggest that taxpayers have any responsibility that you put up a nickel. Locally that they that that that the owners in the league should take the responsibility it's not a responsibility of the taxpayers but. Subsidize private businesses like sports teams by building them stadiums when perhaps that choice is being made at the expense of infrastructure and bridges.

What he did not have the time to say yet to share with you is that when Cleveland was doing all this stuff for the a sports franchises in new stadium for the baseball team a new stadium for the football team after the original football team it's stab them in the back and left in the middle of the night. And that was not -- and the gentleman that I referred to as a flat bleak millionaire that -- millionaire that was Bob Kraft knows out it was but Delano is very specific and clear an open by the people around in this town like to try to use it for the around. Nailed that last night I was crazy is a bad but but every once in awhile like it's even a broken clock is right.
