Sen. John McCain On Spontaneity and The Mid East

I'm grateful that I am here today because it gives me opportunity. To talk to a man that I respect a great -- that would be Senator John McCain Sarah welcome to the Howie Carr showing Iran with Michelle McPhee. Our credit related it's great to have you on senator because all weekend long I've been turning to people my friends complete stranger saint. What just happened -- John McCain -- the president. And I think the answer is -- for a number reasons first of all I have to ask you about. When the president. Called the US preposterous or at least the story the Obama administration is spinning. About the assassination of Christopher Stevenson three Americans it is embarrassing. Because now you -- I think age. It's worse than him cursing what it is is either fundamental. Misunderstanding. What's going and horror they've just decided to not -- the American people I'm not sure which is seen -- but just say that. People who come to demonstrations. Where it's. Rocket propelled grenades and heavy weapons or because you want it demonstrate. Edition arming -- so. Illogical and an accurate either guy you were -- logical that it took our eyes she legislation. -- by the way. You know I've been saying this for quite a period of time including -- Patient nation on Sunday you know what their response worse today that John McCain supporter or red round. Actually answer. Provide them with the weapons to defend their shelves as tanks artillery -- airplanes helicopters. Massacre. Syrian people I mean this is a president who truly believes -- leading from. It should -- really an unfortunate chapter. I think in American history and strong argument. Or brownish reelection encouragement shall I think they -- criticize Romney. Criticize what was clearly an apologetic statement from the embassy in Cairo speech in the United States America favorite would true. That statement themselves and unfortunately that change to be focused. -- attention right at the abject straight year. Including our terrible relations with Israel. On the whole Armenian issue which has caused -- Stabile. Israel to be leak and encouraged the Iranians in their beliefs that we really -- -- -- -- just stopped they're pasture nuclear weapons. Most surprising that he didn't stick up for the Syrians when you consider that Barack Obama doesn't stick up for the Americans. I -- mean it does it are legit -- it's it's actually appalling to me. There only are apologizing and and the president made demands that this ridiculous YouTube video Senator John McCain I mean. I think you and I can agree that this has all the markings of -- tighter attacking it took place in September 11. And Barack Obama might have known at a -- blow up forty. Was 56% of -- Intel briefings including the briefings leading up to 9/11 I mean the mayor of Boston. Went to intelligence briefings -- Arab you point two intelligence briefings but the president United States blows up -- -- briefings on in the week leading up to 9/11. Especially given his past experience. And national security issue it certainly studied in Indonesia. And -- -- attacking. -- concerning -- you know he's he -- Try yesterday edited for apparently meant you are sarcastic fish you know. That Mitt Romney can shoot for name well stringent campaign when he can't shoot. He can't do anything but. Apologized for America. Can. Of course by the way corrections continues firearms. Just Syria -- resolutions. Ending joint Security Council that would punish pressure aside and we keep -- that reset button. I mean everything that's coming out of the Obama administration this week is -- remarkable around with Senator John McCain. Who has already said you know this is ludicrous to try to suggest that protesters product rocket grenades and high powered explosives and weapons to assassinate these four Americans and then got it of course I have the -- I don't know -- being able to get any chances from the White House. Is how possible. That a guy like Christopher Stephens an ambassador who was a key figure. And Libya I mean new agreed with Christopher Stephens you called for an intervention in Libya. You do that this guy was the point man on the grounds for congress and in for the White House. In relations with Libya I mean how is completely unprotected on September 11. I don't know ordinary charge entry fortune and I can't -- -- that there were a search action it consulate and bank Garcia that. There were planned slate but very importantly -- -- the president. The -- general assembly. Was on face the nation when I was on it any -- this is al-Qaeda attacked planned and orchestrated an actual -- So where's the disconnect here between. Susan -- I mean. Military attack and yet. Day. The president and eight. Are bashing United Nations our secretary of state would have us believe that this was quote a spontaneous. Demonstration. -- it it's an insult to every American's intelligence. It certainly is especially when you consider that the president of the general assembly in Libya also said that the State Department had received several warnings as early as three days before the attack. If for some reason that is completely unbeknownst to anybody with sound mind and reason. There were no Marines stationed. Indian Ghazi the Red Cross have been attacked him and got the NATO forces have been attacked -- redeeming Ghazi the brits have been attacked but we didn't think it was prudent. To make sure the Christopher Stephens was protected where it wasn't a single Maureen and -- -- trust. An outside for an agency we've seen what happens in Afghanistan he can about the new police officer and done and they turn and shoot American soldiers and that. Well from a larger perspective dispersant is told everybody in the region's debt -- We didn't leave a residual force in Afghanistan after four hours so Americans died. In Georgia general -- we want the war and -- In Syria are obviously we're not helping people in Afghanistan. These attacks by uniformed. Abstinence. Is the worst blow to morale it you can never anticipate. And again it's because president. Your talks about withdrawal by the way accelerated over their recommendations -- -- military commanders and never charged that successor victory. Sure you probably -- the same story. That Taliban prisoner and the American -- here. And the Taliban pressures says you that the watchers we've got the time and that's really what this is all about true out -- Middle East. It's not if it's one and Senator John McCain I know that your New Hampshire right now. And in everybody is talking about Romney which is is tantamount to using the video look me here people are angry about a video Al qaeda's gonna launch an attack. That's exactly what the Obama administration has successfully done with the media OB ER. Ronnie made a stupid comment and then everybody ignores all of the glee -- mistakes that were made by the Obama administration so what is going on what Mitt Romney and and I know that you told the Boston Herald earlier today that his support among veterans and slipping. Which I can't wrap my mind around. Well we've got hurt we've got that's one reason alignment and ranchers to talk to the veterans we need. Take to get. Increased dramatically and there's -- -- that veterans care more about an -- Nations security. Obviously. But I also. Would like to point out that. Again this video we should have shed to. Well it it is astonishing do you think Mitt Romney would have done in response anyway we saw the orient the -- New York Times Friday that it was a very stern phone call made. To Egypt in an Obama talked to Marcy and he sets it up right now I mean do you think that's about Senator John McCain. Well first let -- or not Osama bin Laden said. When there's a struggle personally course the people -- distraught or where now we're now that we course and none of this would have happened -- date with a robust strong policy in other which we shouldn't. We should have left their residual force in Afghanistan. Should never accelerated our withdrawal from. Trying to guess we shouldn't have we show -- there for. Residual force -- we should -- generator our withdrawal from Afghanistan we should be speaking out and supporting the people and Syria. Most of all. -- -- is on the path to nuclear weapon and what do we do we get in a fight with Israel rather than stand with Israel for -- -- saying Iranians can go. Now burger so Iranians don't believe that we're sure so. What it is is this same president went to Cairo and apologized to America or America. The same -- -- should speak up for the demonstrators in Iran who are scouting Obama but are you literature you. -- -- that projection weakness and we had a week course and all of these things are slow from back. -- -- -- and sanction Ronald Reagan daddy -- strong America. He believes and steadfast support for people who are struggling for freedom he believes in strong and closest. Relationship with with Israel. And shortly. It would not be apologizing for America or allowing our embassies to do so. Well you know on -- and they have a saying if you feed the scorpion it will bite you. And you and it seems that our President Obama has been feeding this scorpion since he got into office if -- remember you this speech in Cairo. Back in overnight. And he said he wants to seek a new beginning between the US and Muslims around the world and I think you know and we steep 33 countries erupted in violence what people yelling death to the USA. Clearly hugging it out with the terrorists haven't worked has not worked. And what do you think -- you would do differently. Well he would. You would -- -- and fracture but he would also. Project American strength the same way that Ronald Reagan get Ronald Reagan spoke up for these people and when -- absolutely necessary. The threat of force was there. After. Ball market he orchestrated the bombing at a Disco. In Berlin that killed Americans cheat -- Ronald Reagan did. It would Tripoli. And you know what we never heard from capacity again. Okay and the Iranians have orchestrated attack against United States of America beginning of the bombing of the marine urged in 1980. And they've even tried to assassinate the Saudi master in the streets of Washington DC. They've attacked during a receipt saying orchestrated actually get -- the -- all over the world they are enemy and yet. -- Obama believes that he can negotiate. Such well. Well at the lack of human understanding to quote Governor Deval Patrick here Massachusetts that's what 9/11 was a lack of human understanding or. I did I think that we you know I was there at 9/11 I can -- -- both tied to have a chuckle at that. Understanding of how we have to deal with terrorists. In the terrorist uses video as a distraction just like the Obama administration using Romney's remarks as a distraction from the AF failed policies. It was also some new news on the political front where about four hours ago you endorse senator Scott Brown here in Massachusetts. Actors and he's been sexually. -- -- member of the senate you know he's in the National Guard 32 years. He understands the challenges -- or church and -- These -- good hard working blue collar independent. Republic and that works city's job and today is really a remarkable. Talent Booker. Guys that I have really enjoyed spending time it's ongoing but most importantly. I don't know anybody that works harder passionate that's got gravitated true. And -- he added perspective that -- perspective to national defense that always somebody who served. As long in this honorable he is seen as -- can bring to it. At this -- the question I have -- is going to be. Is there going to be a call for an investigation. On the congressional front are we -- C. Demands from the Obama administration on exactly who made that decision not to have any American -- American troops on the ground and being Ghazi despite the attacks. That'd be questioned about why Cairo a -- on and to see the air and marine stationed there with no bullets in their guns. I I believe we could probably have an investigation and -- -- -- actions we can essentially control -- -- side. Source -- senators concerned. Well this -- administration's insurance. No but that's one of the reasons by the way what are major arguments for keeping Scott -- we need to get to Jakarta in the United States senate we don't need. Inning -- far left liberals we got enough. We certainly have not Padilla while woods isn't it which is why it was another endorsement made. By you up in New Hampshire today let to talk a little bit about doing your endorsing for governor. I have endorsing a lead I think she years are over she is saying -- Or that is one of that really conservative fiscally. Balanced. Really there are guys I think just displayed leadership in the business community and has great. Leadership strengths. And especially I admire. Is willingness to take tough decisions and they're gonna have to be some tough decisions made on fiscal issues in -- capture. Go to Asia very very outstanding candidate in -- yeah. So -- -- said -- -- you built this not the government. I says -- on -- is one of those leaders who said you know bill this to the small business owner not. Got a and he did some building on his own nation search yet it -- and I think he'll be here. Think -- he'll be a great governor. Well senator I can recommend great restaurants in -- street chop house where you up in New Hampshire right now. Actually we're headed fortunate to do another town hall meeting him and -- find out started tonight -- -- you're sort campaigning for -- merit and again I love getting Hampshire. Shelled but I also wanna point out. We need to carry New Hampshire we need to carry New Hampshire we got to get our people out and register to vote and I. Knowing that state as well as I do I'm confident we can but we got a lot of work to do.
