Is 9-11 being forgotten?

And you wake up thinking well I had a story in the front page of the daily news that day. And I couldn't wait to do the follow up to the story about a black panther that having captured he'd been on the -- Great story and -- nano Lorraine how political activist a political act don't pass. And bank robber and then none of that store became irrelevant completely around and I don't think is it like she got up before you know 8:36 the morning eating her. Mean listen you didn't read that story at all. So most people it seems don't have September 11 top of mind. And the country doesn't have a top of mind as opposed to last year tenth anniversary their big celebrations big thing in New York it was big news. And heavily covered this year not so much what do you think about that isn't a problem. For it to be fading into memory already -- NW RQ what's up. -- perhaps because of my age I put it in the same category as -- how about. And Whitney. At this as a very important time I had to turn in my lifetime when I've seen this country attacked. And I think -- at this and out of it is a lot of people don't remember apparently now married. Big mostly because I don't think they have my -- association. -- The enormity of that type of thing. Well -- it's it's it's a personal memory if you were -- when a tragedy happen it's certainly very different thing then when you're just reading history right. Yes said wait a second trauma. You remember exactly -- you were when you credits you know it was. Exactly there's a collective experience and a personal experience it all on whether thank you -- for making that point. I think that's really -- have been under this enormous pressure every day. They did an expectation that the issue parade around with the agreed to issue clutch it framed photograph that this slain loved one and you know. Offer up prayers and stand alongside politicians it's an a it's a lot of pressure I mean I I know a lot of people who lost loved ones. I 9/11 and the pressure is in -- all of this just enormous didn't. To mark the day it was some sort of big grand gesture when some of the -- preferred a very quietly stayed home and and marked a sad day. This generation. And the greatest generation they -- patriotic. Okay. They didn't worry that woman that was worried about what meet -- me what I was getting what I was doing what I was going to throw. This is what this is what I do I it boggles my mind. I remember exactly what I was doing that day. Ya know that's a pretty amazing that I mean they were there was an incredible day when you think about it in terms of Powell. I thought it was gonna change the country in a big way in terms of everybody having this shared sense of our -- danger. It was sole temporary German of the days of people are driving around an American flags. Lest we forget bumper stickers everywhere in the sad fact is we have forgotten so when all the people who. I mean it this got to be some sort of memory is got a media idea that we have to stay vigilant that's got to be this idea that people should be held accountable for the mistakes are made that day. But it sounds like we're trying to have it both ways we want. The day to be important. But we don't want everybody walking around lamenting and feeling overburdened and I don't know high you have both of those things going on carrier how you can't have both those things there. In order to process this and our own way and we can't stand the globe story today quotes from people talking about. How people lost loved ones on September 11 and last year was a real burden. Because every time they were turning on the TV they were seeing in the the news every time they turn on the radio you know they can they kept having it automatic they have to hear that. It's it's the normal thing to do with tragedy. Is to internalize that process and then move on with your life. You know what could be some quiet gesture today why -- we bring back that patriotic feeling that we had in the aftermath of 9/11.
