Chicago teachers hate students

This city of Chicago. Is literally starting to melt down. You wanna see grease in America. You wanna see the future. Unfolding right in front of our very artists. Teacher's gone why -- old. Today this morning. 400000. Students. Woke up to a massive. Public teachers' union strike. They are picketing in front of every public school. They are demanding even more pay raises better benefits. Better job security. Many parents don't know what to do. There's supposed to go to work. But who's gonna take care of their kids. 400000. Unsupervised. Kids many of them on the streets of Chicago. The cops are up in arms they're pouring caught onto the streets of Chicago for fear it is going to be a lot of violence. Because when you have young teenagers out of control and unsupervised. -- lot of mayhem can happen. And so now the political godfather. Obama's former top console area. Rom dead fish a manual. Housing crisis on his hands. But here's my friends is not just the crisis for Chicago. This is America's crisis. Because this is what's gonna happen in CD after CD state after state. If we don't get our fiscal house in order. Which you saw last week in the convention. But the Democratic Convention many of those people in the crowd were those very same public teachers. Who are now taking to this to the to the picket -- it's. And what are they demanding. -- you wanna see how greedy. How selfish. How self interest did. How and many of these public teachers have become. They are now making. An average of 76000. Dollars per year before benefits. -- Public school teachers of Chicago have the highest national salary for teachers are on average. Average national salary than any other teacher in the country. Don't remember that's before benefits you out in the benefits. But they're making about a 100000 dollars a year with benefits. This is to me outrageous. When most private sector workers who literally make half of that the average family in Chicago the working average family. He's 47000. Dollars a year. These -- official government statistics. These guys are making almost double. Never mind the benefits and here's the kicker here's the kicker. They have been offered a 16%. Pay raise over the next four years. She didn't even have the money to pay these people be salary increases and -- -- turning down 16%. They want more and more and more. And the key issue is this. It's not just that they want more money. They want even more. Benefits set aside for them in their retirement. Every new bowler. That the cargo -- -- repeatedly kicking in for for education. They want said anyone sensitive to go to pay for their retirement. They won a -- they basically one adjustment they wanna be able to retire early and then -- their feet up and collect all the cash from a retirement. Whether this bankruptcy the city whether the taxpayers of Chicago can afford it is irrelevant to them. And then on top of at all this is the cherry on the Sunday you wanna talk about what spot you want. Forget the fact that they're overpaid. Forget the fact that they're under worked. Forget the fact that they think they should be able to live off. High off the hall when they retire. And basically never get laid off for the rest of their lots we've -- got -- site. Rom dead fish Emanuel. For all of his ruthlessness. For all of the fact he's got -- we know principles whatsoever. He can read a test course is not completely stupid he's not a complete before won't. To test -- keep declining. You have students in the fourth grade or only 15%. One out of eight students can read -- proficient in reading the. These teachers have become such a failure. That they're basically now graduating a generation of -- illiterates literally. Literally only 15% can read in the fourth grade. My little two year old -- and I swear I spent the weekend with him. He's already -- letters. He's already finding god but mom ma. You're you're you're at a six -- -- seven -- in the fourth grade -- and you're you're a genius. Compared to the students and and and and Chicago. So Rahm Emmanuel sense while. We have to base your merit. On -- scores are stored in passports. If distort and test scores keep going round. You shouldn't be eligible for a race you shouldn't be getting all this money. There's got to be some accountability. -- Mean that strike that from the contract not on on all god forbid strike bad from the contract. So these teachers are essentially telling us. That they wanna have lifelong tenure. 76000. Dollars a year. Plus gold plated health care gold plated them coal gold plated retirement benefits. The fact they do a horrible job. That half or just over half barely graduate from high school many of them -- -- you literate -- Reid can't do math. Don't even know -- the first president of the United States is and they want us to feel sorry for them. And this is why this country -- France is in such serious trouble. Because you would think. That the residents of Chicago. Would say get cheer rear end off the picket line okay stop shoving that Dunkin' Donuts. -- these chocolate donuts down your throats OK with the and the extra large coffees. And get in there and start doing some teaching instead. One after another you can see the video in the audio honking. Honking in support yeah. Squeeze them out for more money squeeze them for more benefits. God forbid however I want 15% of kids being proficient than a minute and I want zero. I want nobody to learn how to read honk honk. This. Is Greece. Where this society. -- our politics. Becomes so dominated. By the public sector unions. It literally collapses from within. You pay salaries you pay benefits you pay pension plans you cannot afford. Chicago is already billions of dollars in the hole there raising taxes like the original tomorrow -- the middle class is fleeing. Crying is out of control. Every four hours somebody's getting killed it's a wild west town mayor and Chicago. And now this teachers don't even -- And since when I have to ask this question. I would this is the way I would handle this. Why should public sector unions. Public sector employees. Government employees. Who work for the government. Who already make twice as much as private sector workers why should even be allowed to strike. I would pull Ronald Reagan I'd fire everyone of them. We -- the air traffic controllers because even FDR. FDR. The liberal -- the hero of every liberal he said he if you work for the government you should not cover right to strike why. Think about it it's a conflict of interest. We pay your salary. You work for us. So why should you be allowed to strike. Here's your your public servant. Jimmy -- to -- just common sense.
