That is to say the Democratic Convention where we knew we have to talk a little bit about it and then finally it will be. It will be put behind us showed that's on the agenda. As to the convention and when usual at the two conventions were back to back to even political junkies I think I convention now. And I think also attended each one deluded the other in the sense that -- there wasn't ample opportunity for things to sink again. Mirrors I can -- by looking at the the poll results each. Each candidate did seem to get a little bit of a bounce it looked to me that Romney on the heard different numbers and it depends which poll you wanna look at the that looked to me like Romney got something on the order of three or four point two Obama and god may be a player to did it. Now part of the problem with a bomb us pounce. Is that the ball -- was supposed to balance all of a sudden turned a lead on the way down because within hours. Of the end of the convention the end of his speech. The they knew that George report came out and I found myself thinking as I watched the speech and I did watch his speech in Asia as you know. Who a lot of people given -- mixed reviews. That he as good speech but it didn't sore that wasn't the same as -- was before. Part of the problem for Obama is that he automatically sets the standard very high because she's considered to be great orders won't plunge he has his. His reliable teleprompter there. And his security blanket that he can deliver great speech and so you expect a great speech. Well sure sure Clinton Clinton apparently delivered four that the Democrats old man I thought Clinton would never stop. I that they were gonna have to you know cut the wires is something you get him off that podium. And maintain or should I looked at the numbers and wrote them down somewhere. Somebody get a word count. The more you show me like 65%. Higher than the script. We -- going on Obama but he did seem to deliver quality expectations Obama did not. But here's an interesting factor with the Obama's speech. It would shed by the commentators and I believe that that. Obama had already been given us a preview award given the numbers the jobs numbers. But the rest of us were going to get at 8:30 the next morning. And I found myself thinking as I heard -- reached as I too wasn't overwhelmed by an idea of course. -- granted I'm biased and not looking to be overwhelmed. But I found myself thinking I bet the unemployment rate is gonna go up tomorrow. And the Obama knows that and it's taken the wind out of the shows he can't very well. Talking glowing terms about how much progress we're making and if we stay the course a little longer. We're gonna have a greater economy. Has noticed I was absent from the speech. And I think that that's so I thought that the reason it was an option. Why is that he knew he could make that claim because in a few hours the claim would be undercut. Well. I guess I was technically wrong the unemployment rate actually went down for -- point 38 point one but. It went down. Because so many people -- dropped out of the workforce everybody is acknowledging. That these statistics we yesterday on the latest with regard to the economy. I'm quite bad. The number of jobs created. Which much lower than was expected. And indeed lower than is necessary what does he need some like a 150000. Jobs can be created in a month. Just to keep pace with the growing population. Not -- Obama's Soledad number 430 the afternoon of his speech she did she had before yeah and that. That makes sense she's she show while the unemployment rate was okay Obama and -- That the next morning he there was the American people. We were going to get results that showed that the economy was sluggish at the very best and really a disappointment. -- He couldn't very well short with the rhetoric about. How hey stay with me guys and everything's going to be great because we're we can see the progress remember Biden before. The talk among America's turn the corner. Yeah we turn the corner and he seemed rubble on the new quarter. Reminded me of you know you climb he lost in the mountain climb up to a peak and he looked he gonna look over the no more desolation. -- That may account for why Obama couldn't shore. To absorb because he had a minor problem that the fact we're going to contradict. Any. Extravagant rhetoric that he had put forward unlike Biden. -- Finland Biden. Hillary should a great speech. Exposure was a good speech did. Because enough. He will be yelled that. Her line was so angry. Where everything she's main important point says it three times mean literally repeats the phrase so I didn't give it. Quite this time marches some other. OK so here we are. Whereas the repudiation. Of the Obama record by the facts. Of the economy by that the data of the real data he can't blame Mitt Romney other Republicans that if she is not there now -- Obama mile -- the Republicans -- only password he wants and everything would be fine well no. He's had ample time to make a fine. And the question is do we want to do want to rehire him remember for all the blame the ones -- -- the bush economy. And -- George Bush's fault and all according inherited. He was hired to fix it that's what he told us he could do. He told us when he was campaigning. That he was going to cut the deficit in half. -- do that thank you would double that. Now he's gonna close gitmo by 2010. Didn't do that in an additional string of broken promise it. So the question is is he deserving. Of another term. And I guess the question is really. If you thinking of giving him another term. What would be different. What is she suggesting now. They have minority -- May recharge the stimulus you spend not three quarters of a trillion dollars. Government spending is not the end share. Despite with the Democrats who had you believe. -- all all I think. Whatever feeling you have with the convention. It. It's dissipated now quickly. Undercut by the facts of the matter. The labor force dropped according to these latest statistics. By 368000. Workers. And the -- the portion of the population. In the labor force. Plays the proportion -- apportioned the people who are working. Is 63 and a half percent and that is the lowest level since September of 1981. That's more than thirty years ago this is not a good direction of travel. He hasn't earned. The he hasn't earned the right to claim that he should be hired again. They should be reelected. We'll see where ago I know is likable. I don't find likable but I know a lot of people do and I can understand why they think he's likable. A mother Michelle Obama by the way. People like you are not going to be influenced by that because you're gonna decide that because he's rich he shouldn't get your vote. It's like those who say not gonna vote for Barack Obama didn't read his -- read in the releases college transcript well now if you're anxious college transcript. Those people wouldn't support Barack Obama. -- folks like you. Have a litany of reasons why you're not in favor Mitt Romney and even if you were to be able to get rid of those he's still wouldn't be in favor. Mitt Romney. But let's not make it sound that somehow these are the telling dispositive argument. You know of where I'm assuming he donates the Mormon Church or or or whatever I don't know what is charities are but. He's helping out less fortunate people that he doesn't beat on his chest. And here's Obama who is you know new money's worth millions of dollars and it's like you you can't afford to send your half brother few grand here in the air. I think you're actually right time it is just remarkable if you see that movie and thank you for the point if you see that movie. You'll see that the brother half brother really dove who does live in squalor and -- and a half brother. Is reasonably articulate reasonably educated the point that you made the movie she doesn't appear to agree about the anti colonialism. That is so much a part of of Barack Obama's background. But that this guy should live in -- hi I'm telling you you shoot a picture you wouldn't put your dog in the -- the fusion. And yet Obama. Barack Obama apparently. Doesn't give -- much and it wouldn't take much you know when you're living in that kind of squalor a few bucks go along way.
