We did that a couple of years ago we're trying to win reelection. And it's impossible. We're look at the numbers is no way to win reelection we've got to pull a rabbit out of -- how what do we do. Everybody's with the president patriotism rises but we went through the bush years and the attack in Iraq the attack in Afghanistan. Iraq just finished Afghanistan. Is still gone full throttle as a matter of fact it took. I think it took that ten years to get the first thousand deaths and and in the last couple we've had another thousand it's worse. So it might be there's not an appetite. For an unprovoked. Attack in the eyes of the American people. That Todd normally I'd say you're right the country is now exhausted we are now suffering from war fatigue. We are losing the war in Afghanistan and protecting the American public has just tuned out completely. To to meet and to the detriment of our troops I feel bad for them they're dying in bleeding in the caves and mountains of Afghanistan. And hardly many -- Americans even know about it. But the fact of the matter is the world knows that awkward -- jawed as the Hitler of our time. The world knows that he Ron is on the verge of building a nuclear bomb. The world knows that the Jews of Israel now fear for their very existence. And so if the United States. If Obama said you know what let's say. October 15 two weeks before or two and a half weeks before the election let's unleash. The the winds of war let's unleashed unleash the dogs of war and bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. Every time a president has launched a military intervention. Would there be Reagan in Grenada bush won Indy rock. Clinton in Kosovo or in Bosnia. Afghanistan any rock initially under bush. -- their poll numbers go way up so we marries -- so rally around the flag to. Your saying is he advisors this is this situation reporting UN. Would rally around bad decision. This would put Florida clearly and Obama's call home. Many independents many moderates would say you know what he's actually very tough now on foreign policy he's defending the national interest against the wrong. And I think you would make Obama seem as a very strong war leader and a statesman and Mitt Romney -- Mitt Romney gonna say no why oppose it. Yeah I and I -- by the way Jeff drug along the lines where you're saying you're getting a little more cynical and we got a text message from 61 set the seventh saying. You do a straits of Hormuz saying I'm on Gulf of Tonkin thing in the in the straits in other words you have a situation develop. In an orchestrated way that makes it look like we've been attacked and then we have to respond. That would be very interest and so here's the question I think for refer listeners and that is. Would president Obama's chief Jeff -- is his advisor -- off today so we bring in -- the advisor to the president hypothetical. And you so you're just sitting around tells the president the only way you could win the really elections. Is to get yourself in a war with Iran bomb Iran. Does President Obama say OK I think you're right let's do it. In other words it's a question on how cynical you think our political system as. I don't think there's really any reasonable limits on what the president would do to maintain his power. And I'm wondering how you feel about it Jeff your answer would of President Obama do what you just suggested. And it is there for a potential preemptive strike. No problem and be very candid with you. I believe that Israel has the right to defend itself. And if Israel believes and I think legitimately. That he wrong imposes a mortal threat. The existential threat to the people of Israel until the Jewish state. Then it is up to Israel to take whatever military actions they believe is necessary. But for America to get involved America. In a war right now when we still have 171000. Advisors any rock. Where we have nearly a hundred -- where is another question was what Obama do it. -- blue Obama do it. If he's downed if Romney is way ahead in the polls if Romney is up by 5678. Percentage points and I think is very likely. By the middle of October late October. With this president I think anything's possible. He's telling Netanyahu not to strike. And I think one of the reasons why he's telling opinion I wanna sit and -- pocket and that's why he wants in his pocket to play that card if he needs it. They are ready to go always got to do is order airstrikes. Hit and bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. And right away people saying the media or say he's the second coming of Winston Churchill.
