To try to figure out what Romney was going to do -- what has happened here. Is the first thing they came to my mind was well he didn't need to energize the base Obama has done that form. -- 44 Republican activists. That -- Republican activists would vote for Satan before they vote for Obama and save more on the ballot. But what this does do is you know the question about Romney. Lingering -- you really conservative. And here his first major decision is a confirmation. That what he was saying during the campaign that he is conserve remained committed to be. To be conservative as president should he be elected they he means it because otherwise you don't take a guy like Paul Ryan. A lot of people made. Much well that's going to put the whole question of health care center stage and a world and maybe that's a good one to be at. I mentioned earlier in the program. That the last Rasmussen. Poll that I saw. 57%. Of the people are in favor of repeal such a really strong number. And it is a good issue to have from senator. There is a boldness of choice in that regard and of course she gets Romney. A little bit away from that quandary that he was in because. The mandate that was declared constitutional provision -- there was no mandate. -- very similar to what's going on in Massachusetts. Show. Romney was in an awkward position position to criticized. But Ryan is not and Ryan has done a lot of work and is very skilled on the issues. I I think also that that's what appealed to around me. Mean think about Romney's background. He's been a successful businessman. And administrator. Had to come in. With failing Olympic city Salt Lake City Olympics and and and take the chestnut the fire. And I bet he is. Attracted to. Somebody who does a lot of work is an idea man isn't just somebody who's gonna come up where the standard lines and and the standard rhetoric. But actually does the homework. Knows the subject and is willing to come up with contributions. And suggestions. That are excellent starting points -- actually making changes. I bet that's what he'd looked foreign business. And that's why he gravitated to Paul Ryan who's the preeminent person on the Republican side doing that in in the on the national stage. So that may very well have been one of the reasons that he ultimately went to. To -- I must say that you might going back to the basics of a G as you can help get elected I looked at the latest Rasmussen. A poll poll survey and remember Rasmussen is different from the other pollsters in the he samples likely voters. That's a much more important poll. Polling data or polling information and then just adults. Because who's gonna determine the election the people go to the polls not the people who stayed home and say they have an opinion. So we'll look at the latest that I've Sheen as far as the staged go. That he -- in Wisconsin. It shows that they're now just about even. And you know you gotta think that that has got to be an influence. Of of Ryan and not only back in Ohio. Where he didn't pick for guy in the favorite son. There is they're pretty much even also now both of these rivers and gains by Romney because. Obama was leading in both those states. And this is an immediate effect from the you know Romney making a decision like this gets a lot of national attention whether it'll hold. I don't know but it certainly there's been the campaign boost a bump. For Romney in -- mind what's happened here you know along the way. Obama is the president of the United States. And when he. Issues proclamations. Even speeches to say nothing the policies. He's doing it as the president has that position that authority that in pro mod to work that goes along with the office. Mitt Romney is really just in the in the national political. Calculus is just a candidate. And therefore he can make speeches and he can talk about policy this is the first time that he needed decision. That caught the world's attention as it were right when he selects the number two guy. And therefore it elevated Romney just somebody of an important decision maker. And that's why you know there's a -- here that goes along with it because. Now for this moment Romney is more consequential as more substantial than had been and is at a level. Equal to the president of the United States because he is selecting a running mate that the whole world took nose and certainly. Everybody in the United States. So it turns out to be good church doesn't suffer from the problem. Then McCain and McCain wanted energize his base which he did but he picked somebody a lot of people had doubts as to whether she could be. President of the United States. And you don't have that problem with. With Paul Ryan and nobody is going to doubt his qualifications 42 years old. You say ostensibly is not cutting any benefits but you take that money out and it means that there's going to be a reduction in the reimbursement. For procedures and for healthcare for doctors and -- hospitals in addition. The Obama care proposal also. All ages sixteen million new people to Medicaid now you cannot add all those people. And are now and I gave that. Well I mean I really like and if she might James. -- -- -- You can add all those people Anders take that money out of Medicare expected not that nothing's gonna happen. What is going to happen if you take that money out. Is that doctors and hospitals are gonna start opting out of the program. There's simply not going to take people on Medicare there are doctors now who don't. And their own content and therefore there going to be. Reductions. In the amount of medicine that's available that's what gets you to these government. Bureaucracies these panels that are going to have to make that decision they're gonna make that determination as to what is going to be covered and what is it. And that you end up with it's not in the obamacare legislation. Has such. But to concede the consequential that so the Obama care proposal is terrible we have to get rid of that. Now we have to come up with something else this is not going to be easy. We tell you whom part of the problem here is we are spending a larger mine and an increasing amount on health care. And that means we've got to make some changes in the structure that changes proposed in your in the Ryan plan. Are gonna start with people who are 54 years old. It's complicated will probably have to go over it many times. But we know for sure. That the plan as proposed by Obama that was passed.
