A story out of Vermont command there are so frustrated with the police after a couple weeks ago I got arrested. And he was so mad at the cops she went down to the sheriff's department in his tractor. And rolled over. All the cop cars. It's kind of a funny story and it's kind of a sad story and I talked about that frustration. In just a moment minutes the first we're gonna talk with Sean Ford. He's the executive director. Of the Boston Tea Party ships and museum on congress street bridge in Boston we're doing a remote broadcasts there how he is. On Monday afternoon. And it's the Boston Tea Party. Museum were very excited about it let's say good morning to Sean for the executive director high shot -- -- you. I'm good but I'm frustrated because this is such an important thing the Boston Tea Party important part of history. A legacy which is being drawn on in a political movement today and yet I don't think most people know they -- museum exists. I -- you are correct. I hooked up and that's the job that we need to do better. But to tell people that were back I mean we've been absent from the four point channel the twelve years. And we're now trying to get back in the guidebooks and two that the maps -- -- the people know that indeed the new Boston Tea Party ships and medium is here. So would tell us what it's about what how exactly does the event. I'm a couple hundred years ago translate into going into a building. Well it is that that that's the thing people don't know what they added that this museum is immediate amount of experience we're not historic attraction on historic site mean we don't pretend debate. But what we do we tell the story of the single most important event. That led to the American revolution which of course was the Boston Tea Party. And it's told in three stages act one act two -- tree. The First Act we are going to the meeting house and we meet Sam Adams and somebody to another fellow patriots. And we discussed that the pernicious lead the team that has arrived in Boston. And everyone takes on a roll so when you come into that door into that building the other take on a -- a participant who actually was involved in the Tea Party. And he'll he'll learn all the events that led up to the evening of December 16. While it's so we go to the meetings and everything and yet all riled up than are you sure do it I like this only gets the hang with Sam Adams. Absolutely and and now a lot of into the crew to. No actually after you decided what to do with that C in the harbor and Sam Adams should be screened his word from the pulpit. -- leading can do no more just save the country that time for action has arrived well. You'll Don Muhlbach disguises and march down onto one of the ships and they gonna meet Paul Revere. And you know I have a right to do with history by actually tossing tea into Boston. Robert -- are great idea I hate museums because there's a static and daddy and you bring it to life. Well that debt -- we're not a museum of text panels and objects and artifacts but that being said and our museum we do have Warren. Who's all upset right he's all upset. Because he got in a situation with the cops got arrested. Any comes back in retaliate you sound on this horse urine year old on them and you hit a -- of you've got to. Now. Started giving couple minutes so the -- He gets upset. Goes to the sheriff's are it will really Oreo we got the sound. Police say 34 year old Roger. Took his family's farm tractor and ran over these cars just after lunchtime Thursday. Apparently. After being caught with marijuana. All seven now mangled sheriff's cars were parked right behind the station. Police believe PR and had to do some organizing before we crush the cars though. They were all sitting right next to each other so PR and use the tractor to push for the cars together. And any drove him over. I love this guy was so high rates with the police that he flipped. -- got -- newest tractor any went down to the amid the police stations in Montpelier Vermont. Any drove all you know big tractor any crushed. All the police cars go for a couple funny side points here one is. That the police were inside their brick building -- no windows. So they didn't know what's happening they found out because somebody called 911. The that's how I learned about. And the other thing that's kind of funny. Is that he's so badly crushed the cop cars. Dead. They need to use the jaws of life they say to peel them open this evening and salvage any radios or to get there they can't even get their guns out of the trucks. The seven police cruisers. Crashed. I liked the idea imagery of him moving them around and getting them already for the big drive by sounds like one of those shows you would go to opt in northern New England you know some muddy field. Like a demo derby. All right -- notes are really a funny story to tragic story because. For somebody to. Mean this upset it means they flipped out it means they've lost it in the main means of frustration of life. He is overwhelming. And I think we all have times that we feel that way especially in an economy like this and life is kind of a struggle for everybody an even if it's not. Our real struggle. Your attitude changes. Ended because a big part of life as a fantasy. It's a fantasy that we actually. Have some control over it because we don't. We don't we need this reminder all the time. We -- we we need it all the time that we are just these vulnerable. Little specks of dust that at the whale month. At the whim of nature or garner whatever you think it is at any moment. We can be crushed. Whether it's physically or spiritually. Or economically. On any level look at all come apart. At any moment. And for this guy came apart over an arrest which seems kind of funny but he he wanna get even. What I want to talk about would you is if you ever done anything like this if you've ever had to flip out moment if you bomb. Get out some kind of expert experience you've pat. I'll -- via pushed over the match gazelle is you know a good part of the country. He would succeed Tom good morning -- RKO. Doug this is say we went no we don't like to wake up that's just society. I've been to Vermont there are so many tractors up there. We desperately need tractor control measures this this massacre in -- Vermont is going to be replicated. Throughout the country because of the mad men in their tractors they're all ticking time bombs all these farmers with their tractors. This is a very interesting point you're making. -- -- week we have to get tractors out of the hands of people so there will be less of this kind of violence. Corrected that detractors are out of control all -- obviously understand that the Justice Department is thinking about. Are -- and -- into northern Mexico and maybe tracking and later on. Are you saying that people don't crash cop cars only tractors do. All I'm saying is that. Sounding fathers who wrote about how much you know having the right to have a tractor this should not abandon. That the thank you very much topic it. Do we have a right to our -- tractors do we have -- right it did it's it's also a fascinating point there is great frustration over the idea of government intervention in our lives. Ended got is that this you know government is the control. Orient in these society. And to some people don't take well ever in life. They don't take well ever in life to the idea of somebody telling what to do. And that's say you know it causes frustration so I'd like to hear about your frustrations I'd like to your right your fantasies. About what you would do to what sort of entity like who is. Or what is the evil entity in society from your point of view 6172666860. York. Future. Finance. -- 603 it was it chick filet you know it's what chick filet. Was about fighting back yes we're talking about a guy happened Vermont's Montpelier Vermont he can't take it anymore yes in his big old tractor. Goes into the parking lot at the local up police station and crushes a bunch of cars crashes. You know which are not huge piece of machinery drives over the cars like they're nothing. And that kind of pressures are not recommending it. I'm saying people are feeling it. And the way to act is to find. A constructive means to communicate that frustration what he did accomplish is nothing he ends up in jail. And spends tens of thousands of dollars on lawyers. And nothing good happens. But if you channel it in this again this what democracy's all about democracy is supposed to give us. The avenues through which we can express our feelings. And our beliefs. And our thoughts. So the we have influence and a sense of ownership over. Our government and our society and when those things break. Down. Then the frustration builds and I think that chick filet rebellion that took place a couple of days ago that -- game you know thousands and thousands of people the guy I don't know if it's true or not. But then the -- Troy people are saying that it may have been a record setting day in terms of the best day ever for fast food chains. Which would be amazing because they're number ten or eleven on the chart. They're you know they're tiny compared to others they have 15100 stores out of Norman Donald test tens of thousands probably. Plus Starbucks has 101000 stores I think in the US. And their number three on the fast future social. An amazing. Event because it's people coming together because there's a way to express. Themselves and the question is why do we feel. So much frustration why do we feel the need for some avenue of expression outside of our political system. Well one part would be that the Obama election. Filled with so much hope turned out to be a betrayal. It was selling us some hope and change representing new Aaron we're not gonna fight anymore we're gonna get along. And that all -- part of what we now see. Is a cynical brazen politician. Who is so willing to do anything the -- reelected that he doesn't even bother trying to cover up the most ugly parts. Case in point Harry Reid out there this week talking about -- just making up charges about Mitt Romney and why he's not paying his taxes. And pretending it's fact and saying the burden is Mitt Romney's to prove the falsehood isn't true. Even though it's a -- presented without any evidence. And we've got this big government machine growing. Are we -- example couple minutes ago from a caller who talked about. Having the on the environmental people their because he had dug out a swamp. And created this beautiful resource where he could would be you know he had nice pond and they can skate on and in the winter. And -- have this feeling that the machinery is out of control and it's getting big and immovable. And that's why I talk about the Soviet Union the Soviet Union was famous for this what the so he knew what they really became the symbol of is that governments creating bureaucracies. They don't have any -- go by definition responsive. The responsiveness and bureaucracy don't go together. Bureaucrats are those who have no incentive. To respond to the will of the people and the idea of our government is. That we tell. Government what to do with our votes that's what capitalism is that's what democracy is. Is that the market decides what's going on. Voting is a free market. And we're used to being able to adapt the environment based on our preferences because that's what free market environments duke and then -- government builds up these things that are antithetical. Two free markets the school system being government control. Is antithetical to free markets. Big bureaucracies making decisions in Washington that are none of the federal government's business that belong to doubt the local level. Antithetical to the notion of free markets and I think that's what's going on with this cheerfully thank you know I'm not expecting today for the gay kiss thing. To be a significant push back. I don't get that feeling it's going to be for real. But if it is I hope so because it's gonna make what happened Wednesday even stronger or build it into a stronger movement. Sorry your ideas on this 6172666868. Because there really is. I think. A big opportunity here that there is this latent desire. To fix things and people just don't know where -- chart that's what launched the Tea Party movement. That's what was expressed. In the Occupy Wall Street movement. Frustration and a sense that the system isn't working for us anymore. And -- our our paths diverged. We the people and our government. We have to look for some way to be able to. Move the government to do what we want. Because that's what our founders envisioned force and that's why our government has been the most powerful -- the -- our society. Has been the most powerful 12. Ever join your NWR humid morning to you. There are no words in general so one day when people lose everything they lose it. Say the way Iraq there's you know release says that all the time. Michael lose everything they lose it when people lose everything they will -- -- this is -- -- Today hill top down bottom up. The -- pushing you down the people get mad they end up rising up and this is what they want so we have to watch it you're right. We got the total -- and get back to the voting and do it peacefully Tuesday.
