And Todd -- show brought to buy network capital funding corporation your future finance could not. That's always say your name up here you know. And includes. How are you I don't know anybody doing good how are you. Can't complain I attempt to get them getting chick filet sandwich today. I am definitely getting -- Yvenson thing about it every -- so exhausted driving home from work and I think about getting off up to the -- sure shopping center. And I say no I can't tour now but I've got to get our guy just wanna celebrate that company. I'm actually died. I'd send this to my wife five cents from now on whenever we wanna go out. -- -- -- You're going to college seamless -- really touched by Harman insecure. And a candlelight dinner chick -- tonight -- maddening but about it my wife dropped bring your own candle and you will obviously. So -- but you saw the movie right you saw a dark night. I did I saw on Sunday I thought it was a magnificent film I thought it was the best of the three Dark Knight movie. The character played by vein the what does he really I mean that was extremely well done. I it was -- I thought the script was superb I thought the acting was superb. I don't wanna give away the ending but there are a couple of twists at the end. They are absolute mind benders. Is this phenomenal movie I recommend everybody go out and see it. And you know to me what I just fine so sad. Is that now when you think about Dark -- writers are always gonna think about that massacre and a war. But really it is a superb movie. And part of what I love about the comic book escalation to read them growing up I love about this movie it is a moral clarity. Is good vs evil. It is this sense that there is -- right in the wrong in the world. Here you have a character like about a man who's been on this thing -- you know he's just fabulously wealthy that Bruce -- And yeah he's willing to put aside all the comforts of luxury. All NBA the comforts of well. To sacrifice himself for the love of his city and to confront evil mad men. And that can mean that was always the essence of America I was individualism. It was patriotism. It was a sense of love of country love of community. So there is context in this bad man movie. That. Provides clarity about what's good and what's evil and whether violence is appropriate as we've been talking about violence in movies in general. And whether there's something you know or reflection of moral decay. With what Hollywood is putting out in the some sense that the extreme violence -- violence has become two dimensional that's about the sensation of killing. Rather than when you go back suing god father type movie in this context there's. There's values that are being pursued there's human failure and there's the ugliness of violence in the damage that it does being portrayed do you feel. That that conversation we had applies to the Dark -- are you saying that it's got this story line around them may exceed the violence valuable. Lot of violence is -- valuable okay my companion and this city this is a lot of transfers silenced. We're dynamo by Hollywood standards now and I think that's the thing we've become so. I think desensitized. To the violence and ourselves only to very violent film there's no getting around that fact. I generally think most of the products put up by Hollywood. Frankly garbage I think very bad for our children. I think it's a form of a mental pornography. It is day pornography of violence and pornography of. Dash K so there we are wide does that description not applied to the Dark -- Maybe my romantic sense about a -- comic book having admired about man when I was growing up. I think to me look there is a superhero qualities to all of it so there is some sort of moral clarity and essentially you have these. Evil people that must be stopped -- cape crusader. Who dedicates himself to stopping evil people. -- could look like compared to some of the previous bout man so I used to watch especially the I as a kid growing up that TV series looking to TV series was much better without -- west. But we're talking now about calling them and she basically you can you know world war -- reality go to war the army UH yeah. Some like you're basically got cutting them slack because it's a great movie. And so your behavior -- what the flow on the violence. I mean I don't normally watch violent film side the only don't want -- into the comic book movies that have any violence and in my stopped watching most Hollywood movies. Well I'll give you a perfect example. There is any movie that I saw last week also one of the cable channel that I have. I saw it in the feeder in the original French from that site now with these with the subtitles. It was a blockbuster in France I recommend everybody going see you can keep amount of subtitles. It is one of the most magnificent films I've ever seen it called guard demand. And I do the true story of monks in the Algerian civil war in the 1990s. When the radical jihadist were really taking hold of Algeria. And they were fighting these secular government. In Algiers the capital and these monks are trapped in that country. And they can in fact lead. But because they are so be loved by the villagers of where they live. They decide to stay for the good of the people of Algeria for the good of the community and because they feel they have permission to fulfill. There are quite like -- purpose of serving others. Many of them would end up being martyrs for the church. But a couple escaped. And so you get an insider's view of what it's like to be a question mark literally -- devoted to teach the prince of peace. Surrounded by Islamic Jihad. It is -- movie it is a heart warming movie. If you think profiled -- movie. In fact very little violence all the all the attention of potential violence. Cut through the whole movie Hollywood does not make films like that anymore. Nor do they kind of -- I love. But you know I have a common on -- beloved comic books like and to see a lot of comic book movies. But overall look when you look at about that when you look at the avengers which are also thought it was a great fell. Well you're dealing with incredible Hulk -- dealing with full order dealing with Iron Man you know what sheer fantasy. Like people ball fly around in the strike. What we're getting from Hollywood it's something else. You get to glamorize nation of criminalists. You get to grammar right creation of a substance. You get for example the Quentin Tarantino movies I mean it's a bloodbath. When you look at it Quentin Tarantino movie what is it but literally can you get to a thousand people dead by the end of the movie. So we do arms being chopped off its legs being chopped off the pond being chopped off its people getting shot in the -- How can we get bigger and tortured human body decided to fire that -- get the blood lust of the audience. Do you put that in combination with video tips in combination with television. In combination with that our celebrity culture. We're -- everybody gets a reality TV show it's unbelievable. So if let's -- part Feinberg who wants to be really famous. All -- Feinberg has to do something extremely outrageous. If -- Feinberg want to take a gun and shoot up WRKO. Pod Feinberg is now going to be everywhere across America. And then an iPod Feinberg want to go make a spectacle himself in court. And he's gonna be covered by the cable news networks so we are great culture obsessed with fame. Obsessed with celebrity. And it doesn't matter what you do you have to do something positive in fact the more negative you behave. The more outrageous behavior the more destructive -- behave the more you were in a sense lionized. -- he's given massive attention and and you. There you go and that's exactly the problem I -- trying to think of the thing I need to break through and are the options you've given me are appealing hang on -- -- will continue with Jeff. From The Washington Times talk a little bit about chick filet with him. Coming up on 680 W. -- Going to be around for help others apparently. What do you think that we had a great July's thus far. We can use it to do something like read a book I guess. Jeff Cohen is here co -- is here for his weekly visit and we are gonna talk chick -- but I just want to let you know. Then Michelle if she is taking the day off and that means. They're just corners filling in so if you're enjoying it right now. You can really punish yourself with four hours from eleven to three today on WRK. Thought I got I -- a note from -- on FaceBook she wants a what is the name of the French movie of the monks in Algiers. They are talking about our garden and men -- gods and and that's a famous movie she should know that. Did you tell you would do is it was seen by millions of people in France a couple years -- was absolute phenomenon. And clearly because they're dealing with an Islamist problem themselves in France. And so this is a true story literally to completely true story. And it's it is just it's always heartbreaking on the other hand extremely inspiring one of the greatest we have ever seen. Colts are as good as Batman. What are door closing out of the water he can't compare it to let me just. We're just you know how to better manage a fund if you like comic book movies. But Amanda Dark Knight rises if they -- to ourselves. Now few people in America are Smart enough to figure out a lot of us don't really understand freedom but the mirror Boston does he knows that freedom means. Having a chief executive in a city or whatever the entity is. Cool -- -- spot in order to defend freedom and it and end a presses are religious the practice of religion. And depresses. Off the free exercise or your rights as it's opened a business. And a press is your freedom of speech and that that's the only way to stand up for freedom in America do you agree with. His approach to the chick filet that evil company that has values. And believes in family and god and things like that how do you feel about him cracking down it's kind of -- heroic thing and stopping them from opening in Boston -- -- Targets and you nailed it completely I mean is that when I read those comments by the manner I was shocked. This man is a fascist. This man has no sense of tolerance. If this is the owner of a private company. And for the mayor of Boston to say that he doesn't have a right to express his opinion. Where he's actually number you give an interview to to the Baptist press. And of course everybody knows chick filet is a Christian organization it's for example why they're called on Sunday it's -- facade that. I frankly respect them for that. Our goal that should put an -- all candor. In all seriousness and -- -- every day but I do go to chick -- it's wonderful food it's very clean it's well done. Are -- the personnel extremely friendly I talk with a lot of them menu Democrat should not at all but many of them are Christians. It's a beautiful family atmosphere. And frankly thought I'd wanna put race into this but I have to be candid about it. My chick -- there were many African American that is going to see them and in my house where what seconds -- that's why you at -- point -- this is that. It's all these liberals coming out of the blue. Say that they're all coming out and saying Falwell understood under under segregation. Certain people couldn't get to lunch counter certain people were denied their civil liberties. Gays are being denied their civil liberties how -- will you keep talking about. -- fully that I go to. Many in my African American neighbors could well watcher kids played football we all go together to the chick -- it's a beautiful atmosphere. And for this man to them come out. And then say. That. -- check the late president is wrong. Because she believes that marriage is according to the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a man and a woman. Look I think she's the head of a chief executives he's to have a competent. He was asked by the press what do you think about gay marriage he said I believe it's wrong I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. Now number one the key going into this. Sort thousands of years in every culture in every society under almost every major religion. Marriage has been defined as between a man and a woman there -- -- that way for almost all time in every area. In every area in every society in every culture absolutely ashamed -- how radical. Knowing I its main stream which I try to portray as radical but the president of the United States until a couple months ago. This was his position. Our local his position so in other words there's not that he's completely in the mainstream of history of the world our society even of America. And suddenly now because of his personal opinions on gay marriage the mayor of Boston comes out and says. Well -- is not welcome in Boston. Well the last time I checked. Or maybe the Merrill bought in the thought police. Certainly make died at navy airman you know god. Where he can decide what people can think what they kept saying what they can say what they can't say this man had a right to express his opinion. Now if they discriminate against gays in terms of customers. If they say you can really we don't serve games or gays can only get this part of account dramatic visit part of the counter. That's something else. But look if they -- family and -- question. Game and that's. Now if you don't like. That chief executive's position on gay marriage don't -- eat -- chick -- But he's got a right to express his opinions. And for the Mayor Menino would have come out and demonize chick -- -- -- feeling great -- himself. With the liberal elites. I don't often end up Harvard and of Massachusetts. Can you get that first of all he's not doing his draw his job is to look after Boston the last time I checked I'll be very candid thoughts. There are so many potholes when I was in Boston about two years ago honestly my rear end was sort because there's so many -- on the streets. So -- want to kill our whole. Let's not tell by your earned right now let's say some calls and your NWR he would just corner high end. I am not one of those that thinks that everybody can't treat each other guy a French political there every aren't that February you know can -- not be such a big title at chick lit. People just can't turn that question there or if he can't organization has donated millions of dollars to -- That are anti gang. That. -- donated to exit its grip they've donated to. A variety of groups say pro free or pure gate. That's not just answering a question and nearly. And it Mayor Menino ought to support big rent -- -- -- then. -- -- -- Well -- -- -- does that include violating the rights of a business to be able to open his first comments -- that he would there weren't going to be welcome in Boston he was gonna. Tough fight to block their entry. Do you know his first comment while the latter -- -- I just did you. I forget exactly the warning that something about I hope do you agree. Your decision or your interest in looking a lot to any other prohibited any -- to extract huge free. Why would just disagree with you on that buddy if you if we leave that to the side. Then you agree that the mayor should not be blocking anybody from entering the city just because they have different political views. Great well and I don't think he does because making those kinds of comments is intimidating and sends a signal through the power structure. Talk about what they actually dating or. The guy who wrote checks below he has done is intimidating thousand -- -- donated millions literally millions of dollars he created a gauge it just fight. Game where it. And what's wrong with the. You. Said that -- -- -- -- that -- the Porter gates' neighbors that intimidating. And bad guys pardon. Something that they had to get -- is not how did that. How does -- he's not an elected official -- he has a right to be exercising their behavior I don't I don't see where -- -- has it right to express their. I'm not Simien would not suit -- well let me let Jeff -- in the -- go ahead. I'm just looking at the caller is comparing apples and oranges for the role Mayor Menino is an elected official he's supposed to represent the citizens of Boston in the business and I don't think that it -- them but you -- a lot of unfinished. What he's done and what he says is -- that chick filet is not welcome in Boston and he will do everything in his power to prevent new changes new restaurants from being billed. In Boston so personable and denying the people involved in jobs number one Maloney. You have and harassing a business. -- really rejected any separate class. Is -- -- -- let the candidate hit that would hit on the go train delays in the and it welcome well opted. And so my question do you -- we still -- a free country. It's chick -- not a private business if in fact find and it didn't matter -- -- how -- or initiatives. And that's not the right. I don't know if you want fond of called out of parole hearing Hanna in Eudora and I didn't even try don't tell you you can't do that. So more you can -- chick filet how to manage their money or things like their opinions or how to how to move up. Aren't let's get Nancy answers like on -- -- and I can't get a free country in independent US. It really -- me or are you gonna get another caller on the sandy you're on the air was and I would Jeff -- high sand. I I agree with -- this woman where you come from. I mean everyone has the right to think whatever they want to give to any charity they want and not -- -- -- -- -- You need though he's not elected to give his opinion you've elected to run the -- he had no right to be saying these things because. Yeah the thing is what Democrats you leave -- think like them are good guys. -- I think you're right sandy then you know that the Merrill wrote that there was us and that he was angry to learn. -- about their prejudice comments your clay there's no place for discrimination on Boston's freedom trail. Discrimination easy equating with checkpoint when chick -- hasn't been accused of discriminating against anybody. And no place for your company alongside the Freedom Trail that's what he wrote in the let our I don't know any way to construe that as -- not being inappropriate. Just what six more calls Joseph we are WR here with Jeff corner from The Washington Times. Hello Joseph. Joseph command place let's try in my time -- And they are you don't do well -- help you dilute urine -- and you have no idea how bad this man has. He grabs the -- word diversity around the diversity of that -- -- means that we have people from all over the world living near the street. Different languages diversity also -- diversity in speech diversity in thought it was a simple crucial retailer -- try to keep out of Boston okay. He kept Wal-Mart with their lower prices and dragged out of brought it. He told. CVS. The US. Draw absorption there a lot welcome to open up there are many Quinn and brought. There's so you learn all about who you talk about diversity. Back in 2000 and for a job. When they get the Democratic National Convention here in Boston are eight. Doubted he had brought some guard in the north station a pizza joint in by -- station and they -- or president's side. They're ordered to take bad down all right we lose we're -- -- foremost on something like that. I'm -- you saw that he's not he's not still you know important symbols. He's clearly doing our -- through certain voter -- thanks again to. Thank you Mike I think that's Clair Jeff. I think he's completely right look even he's pandering he's trying to court. And so he's making a spectacle of himself he's making a spectacle of Boston and again I go back to this point. And the owner of a private business not allowed to express his opinion on marriage. And then from the proceeds of that business which he's earned a legal lead. I think -- A morally. -- you know like we are Christian organization. We believe marriage show off the earth is between a man and a woman. And were gonna fund organizations. That's called -- gay marriage now what is wrong with that. Suddenly now that we're not supposed to uphold gay marriage somehow evil it somehow bigoted it somehow prejudiced. To defend this sacred institution of marriage is defined between a man alone it's. That's certainly the opinion of the last but it's a different thing for a guy who's in charge. On a municipality. To intimidate businesses into not ensuring. Simply because he doesn't share their political beliefs that's pretty outrageous Kenya -- NW RQ Jeff scooters here from The Washington Times. Hey guys going I. I'm on there now yeah it's legal. I've never I've never called into radio station before but. Mayor Leo is completely out of line on this once he's bent over backwards to support. Mosque being built in the city Gmail kind of provision and really easy entering into it ordered him to look a whole lot of questions. Why do you ask Getty Lee mom. Will they support gay marriage. Talk and listen got. Point you've you've hit the nail right on the head these very same liberals. I've been lecturing us for years now remember that that mark up in New York on ground zero all we have to have a mosque we have to have a community center. Right on the site. We're 3000 Americans were killed on nine elevenths no I don't know what the question of tolerance it's -- we have to believe in Poland and America. But if you come out and the owner of the restaurant -- say you know what. I think marriage should be between a man and a woman I believe in the Bible I believe in the way marriages didn't put thousands of years. All of suddenly you're not welcome in my city so yes. To assure real loving you mom wants to put a mosque on ground zero that's fantastic that's great. Got a small problem but to say you're opposed to gay marriage not on on all nodding my kids. -- I'd like you using the example of the Wall Street the ground zero mosque. As liberal hypocrisy. Because they welcome them with open arms. And say you can't discriminate and yet here's Mayor Menino discriminating saying that's his prerogative. However. Isn't that if you turn that around does that mean we're being inconsistent when we argue against the ground zero mosque. Well the argument against the ground zero mosque was this that that's sacred holy ground that's the site where 3000 Americans were Borchardt. Just the Japanese would never think about for example building -- don't try and write your Pearl Harbor. It's one of respecting the dead. We're not talking about. So the the a chief executive of chick filet. Somehow. Calling for the death of engaged calling for the massacre engaged. Commemorating the massacre of engaged. And you see a previous caller so there's your definition of freedom and mind disagreed means. Until gays get marriage full marriage rights in this country that somehow they're not free well I'm sorry but the last time I checked. You have the right to vote. -- have a right to have any job that they want they don't drink a separate water problems. They're not totally separate schools. They're not told to drink in different parts of the counter so I think the comparison to civil rights. The comparison just segregation. Is completely wrong in so long -- get -- big men. Why it has every society in the world. Given privileged status. To marriage between a man and a woman why -- because everybody bigoted know it because the man and a woman to create a baby. And then they re bad baby and they socialite that baby and society understand that the best way. To have a healthy society where the children are properly raid and properly socialize and you pull create. To reproduce. It through the institution of marriage so manages money right. It is -- secrets privilege and sacred responsibility. And that's why Jews and Muslims. Christians. Hindus. Buddhists. Asian African and European. Union the culture you named as a society put thousands of years. To this day eight. The overwhelming I'm talking 95%. Of the world. So yes marriages between a man and a woman is about. That's Jeff good or for the washing times silly filling in for Michelle -- feet today from eleven to three Jane you're on -- -- Hi I'm certainly can't and many milk orange. In the witness protection program -- action such tomorrow on apple who heeded the night in restaurant. The ability to I should continue our children we coaches it's just because he doesn't agree with someone -- small. Believe. He we know when elected him to. -- to determine. I'm morals and what we should believe -- not believe or support not support this month in time he has no good you're telling people anything like that. And H keys did just patient he's got to control he's almost suspended Bloomberg. Thank you. Thank you very much and appreciate the phone call Joseph your next NW RKO with just code from The Washington Times hi Joseph. Andy act -- -- you know it's definitely kind -- Menino ordered all this is what typically happens with the entrenched political. Character is state they get extremely sure of himself that may lose -- what right did see have to say no Wal-Mart. Which incidentally would employ -- A lot of minority you'll swear that store was proposed to -- into this and minority community very inexpensive price does. Saying the minute clinics that CVS which. Which for twenty dollars you can go in if you -- the -- Sparky was some of the small Aleman and get them medical help -- what -- did -- have to say that in what might just see it's still I. Someone a chicken sandwich our meal at a Christian type restaurant. But yeah on the idea and he had to be ability to a -- adult bookstores pornography strip joints all -- sorts of adult type entertainment. Tim -- kitty and and and endorse that while he -- says. Actually American and a pride -- -- got I've got all these these -- itself. Andy's been cowardly I -- much. Thank you Joseph for the phone call glad you feel strongly about things Hank you're next on RKO. -- -- only check. I you know many many first job is number award should be number actual -- which birdied number three jobs and member of forest Torre isn't. Is no right dictating in exactly what he's doing it dictating. Who could run a processional -- visit vision just nothing but watching on his -- for a -- global. The tell him what to until they tell us what to -- -- don't work their way. Thank you thank you so Jeff you all warmed up for it today. Pretty much I mean now we're going to be talking about it and a lot of other issues there are looking into the Obama -- in Massachusetts. But it's like is that Ted Kennedy is if the Elizabeth Warren it's the Mayor Menino. -- -- -- you're liberal bastion. Doctors think. This unbelievable. Well it's also the president is is the set I mean they've all been out there attacking business for me what Mayor Menino stone with check flight. That fits under the same umbrella with the with a rant from from Liz Warren in from the president the anti business socialist rant. So withdraw of one mind it seems to me that somehow. Free enterprise a bad thing. Well not only that it's -- mayor you're writing to mayor Emmanuel from Chicago dead -- Rahm Emanuel. Know what you're seeing now is liberals have been generated in the coming fascist thugs this is a form of fascism. And you know I'm gonna start policing what people can say what they can't say. Notice how liberals are now so quick to tell us what is acceptable opinion and my mom. So your previous caller had a deadline you wanna open up a strip joint come on down -- -- you want and value wanna. Planned Parenthood. If you wanna kill a couple baby come on down to Boston. And all you holy gay marriage what you wanna. And the head -- -- -- that provide -- -- great chicken sandwiches at a local right. I would have my family environment we don't want your business you're not welcome in Boston. Tell you everything you need to know -- forget everything else. Just fill the potholes Mayor Menino benefit because every time I don't know when it actually -- I'd come out after twenty minutes the ministry tomorrow than my rear ended sort. Oh -- easily watch them so plot holes. -- that Jeff we -- mile saying eleven etc. is you fill in for Michelle today. Take care who talk too soon Jeff -- for these amazing as -- from The Washington Times 6172666860. Let's talk more about it. On 680 WRKO. No one in America -- to reveal quite blunt and plus we are.
