Where the discussion with a candidate for congress in Massachusetts. -- we all talk about how it's important to make changes and we crush a lot about the politicians who are in office of the things they do. And how we dislike the way things are going. Well in this system the only way you get to change that is to put new people in office. -- this afternoon we're talking -- one of the people who was running in Massachusetts. For a congressional seat to name is Sean be lot. We'll talk with you about you -- -- where he stands -- for those -- you got questions comments. Yeah no spoiler and a couple things along the way it. It is it's yeah I would say I'm going to do it -- as -- -- -- -- it's it's a -- on. His seat president of the United States how did you react when when Barack Obama made the comment that if you have a vision she didn't build that. Yeah I still can't believe -- I'd like this like if it was just a slip of the congregation and double down on that stance and it just -- -- In arrogance about the -- abilities and our government and the lack of confidence than that. In the abilities are people in the private sector work card sixteen under their own merits. And through their own artwork. Of course everybody and in a visit to and and other people we depend on customers you depend on suppliers you depend on. You know you input inputs to hear your business and -- apple Foreman and physical form. That doesn't mean now that you aren't responsible for success everybody does essentially access to that scene -- You know goods and services out there in the marketplace. Whether they choose to pursue. Opportunities how they work to achieve success. After pursuing an opportunity that's a whole different question and the president's remarks I think we're frankly. My wife and I live in north spoke with two little kids we're actually at an event right now announced Saturday is on the weekend Felix try and bring him. Now in terms of some of the issues of the day how -- -- you described yourself philosophically. -- focused on. I I'm market based solutions Aaron the power competition and that's because -- gets the most attention outcomes you get the best social. Societal private. Outcomes by having premarket that's -- the course. There is considered a group for regulation and didn't say that we don't want clean air and water and just -- foods now that it's not an all or nothing kind of thing. But where the market can't provide we're competitive. Forces can enable access. We should focus on the site. So that sorted that out for me it's about you know -- achieved the best outcomes. Or individuals or businesses and -- -- country. Where you stand on obamacare. I'm opposed. I think that's a perfect example of where. You know political decision was made to pursue a governmental solution rather than that. A solution based on market forces -- about proper role the federal government is to enter -- to regulate true interstate amber. So why not start a enabling interstate competition among health care providers and insurers. Competition can -- extend coverage it's gonna lower rates. There are a number of other reforms that we can take it upon similar outline everything and actor we use competition to did it to the fullest extent. And let's figure out where we need to -- it and I'll guarantee that will be a lot less intrusive at safety net in a lot smaller lead yet because. Become competitive forces in the industry or marketer and support. You know a better -- supplier of services that better price. Is that we should raise taxes is that it's never. -- -- -- -- -- So I might disagree in my agree -- the president said we need to raise taxes specifically because the -- that our president said. We need to raise taxes in order cheer. I don't know you know -- -- -- -- -- ports so no I it's rhetoric it's going to be. We can agree or disagree about their policy but we don't get the second part of that -- and all we get from the president from. Many many Democrats in brutality to -- the party line is we straight that it. For no particular which tells me. That it's paid political argument surely it's. It's an argument that says look I know the economy is bad. We're gonna point the finger at somebody and say it's unfair that they're sixty. And and it did not achieve it takes the focus on the lack of success that this administration's. Economic policies it takes the stage at. I'm always from focusing on how we solve the problem to complete blame. Her problem vertically or not. So I act I I cannot understand or just a side the point it at the right thing to do -- a down economy is raise taxes. That being -- It's not clear that immediately Russian interior new legislation is the solution and -- If you look at the legislation that we have on the books at all that these statements that -- -- There's a lot of -- -- out there. The question is what we need what don't we need should reinforce what we asked. More than it did then it's been whether it makes sense to rushed through additional regulation particularly when in many cases it's concerning. Basically cosmetics when you look at some of the particulars of this assault weapon ban it did it more to do it out of work and what. Then what the weapon necessarily -- it was capable of and -- basic question of what. What is is it necessary -- proper. It's just selects certain types of weapons that they that there. Particularly. You know egregious or require. Certainly it legislation to control. That may or may not be the case but it's it has been made clear so the idea of let's just that regulate it says the magazine capacity. I don't think -- it's requested so. Does anybody honestly believe that is. The shooter gone into their bitter. And said you know. We're all -- sort of low capacity magazine that it's still wouldn't and a tragic. That's that's that's part for me to the believe that that's the case so I think. It's an unlikely situation and say it's an unfortunate situation it's it's it's we're reaching an extreme where we can at. Yet still yes sensible spending decisions that are gonna get us to where we need debate I -- you know we never want to rule out any option despite never rule out a military option that clearly. We don't want other and you know all things equal we we reach a solution to like the idea of having out there. And an area that's killing them. By the government. At a lower rate than the marketplace would command. Do you support that. Now and so that any you know we see this student loan well alt opt forming -- it's not very formed. Found people are taking out greater amount that debt to finance their education than their degrees -- providing value. So it repeat it. Led by that I mean if you go to eighth. University that's not equity -- good. And you pay a lot of money that agree -- a lifetime value that degree it's never -- the match we couldn't students do not. That creates. And massive drag on the economy export. Particularly -- people graduated -- decade or so so he had a negative economic and outcome coupled with this. This incentive -- this strange. Senate system for. Wonders to -- make loans. Irrespective. The credit worthiness of the arts and the idea behind it is is -- ordered it should be able to go to college but the net effect is that. Colleges that they sent their customers are essentially. You know price insensitive. Continue to raise tuition -- here which than it used to government. For example I know that Mitt Romney supports gun control laws but I also know that Scott -- that's. And I will determine if what he was very simply how pro gun -- more important would you support a federal assault weapons ban. And how do you feel about gun rights generally and let me respond to what to -- Well -- you know I'm glad it's in the Nazi supporter I mean that's a -- to -- should -- every American response Second Amendment it's very clear. Here's another first thing about even holding down a job in the private sector but certainly doesn't have the remotest few. Of what it's like to try to build a business meet a payroll. Try to take care of employees. Try to make the company go. Try to make it so that the company doesn't go bankrupt he doesn't have a big idea of that but that. -- I'm one last thing. And that is. That he spent 22 years in a church where his mentor Jeremiah Wright disparaged the system. Which critical of capitalism. And antipathy to America and to the free enterprise system and each show hopes. This is who Barack Obama really as he tries to mask it sometimes.
