Grover Norquist tackles Obamacare

Been a busy day continues to be busy as we talked to a bunch of different people reacting to and given us all kinds of feedback on the Supreme Court ruling yesterday -- what the future holds with obamacare now. Secured as the law of the land for the foreseeable future joining us now is Grover Norquist Goran or -- Americans for Tax Reform. The guy who has the tax pledge that. Causes such occur for awful for everybody in Washington on the liberal side. Yet people actually go into office commit to not raising taxes sounds like a great thing to me Grover welcome back to RKO. So what's your reaction to what transpired yesterday. -- hitting because it's. Black Obama ran for president. On the single promise that he would never raise taxes on anyone who -- -- 250000 dollars of that. That was intended million dollar of millions of dollars in bad. It was in the -- immediately Asian nations public pronouncement that he repeated over and over. And then sixteen days after he became president he signed his first tax increase on. Cigarette smokers who earned 40000 dollars -- average. It was sort of always that Hitler and they attacked other people that attack killed. It's definitely too as cigarette smoke is only 20% of the population have lower middle class you know the Democrats to compare with them. Now announced that the centerpiece. Of Obama's first term. Well it's not about health care less about twenty. Massive tax increases. And the reason why an otherwise unconstitutional. Government takeover of healthcare. According to. Roberts constitutional. It's not that taxes not about health. Not about the mandate. So little. The Obama administration is raising taxes on all Americans. In order to pay for the dramatic expansion of the government welfare program. And -- He gets reelected to those taxes about six and 8800 billion dollars over the next. -- decade. Will become permanent. If he's not elected to that Romney and Republicans in the house and senate. It's said that this in his day. Sit down and they will repeal all of obamacare which is mostly collection tax increases. Who do you trust -- I assume nobody because you have the pledge you make people sign. A document committing themselves to a certain philosophical behavior once they get into power. So that -- that -- to -- is that you believe what I think most Americans believe is that you can't trust people being sent to Washington. Some disease. Comes over them when they get their whatever they've said during the campaign. They are inclined. To approve a bigger government. The founding fathers who wrote the constitution. Wrote a list of things the government was allowed to do. Had not allowed to do it it's not obviously and then they went back consent. We don't write down some of the practically don't want them to do and K state this deployed. And to wrote the bill of rights and made it clear that the government was not to do certain text -- We do not elect people. To be -- -- to our city councilor. To do this is well. We elect them because insist social contract if I get elected here's what I will do and here's what I wanna give it much of it's in the constitution. That we discovered. The taxpayer protection pledge that Americans for Tax Reform shares were all candidates of both parties state legislators governors presidents. Congress and senate. It allows them to make a commitment to the voters of their state. Not to me Harry Reid the leader of the Democrats in the senate. If he ever read that that's on our web site a cure dot -- the press is a pledge to the voters. Of their state and the American people that they will vote against the opposed all efforts to raise taxes. Why this is important this is just what you were pointing to you'd go to Washington. Planning not to raise taxes planning not to spend a lot of money on special interest spending programs. And you told everybody probably -- district interstate professorship and you and you get to Washington. The first Farris and people who immediately get. If I ever go back on this pledge. Been told by many congressmen senators and governors. That the most helpful thing they'd get this to take to practice it and they know personally. He'd ever gonna raise taxes I will raise taxes until you sign the pledge to special interest don't believe they can't get too. -- governors who probably say I won't raise taxes. But don't write it down and take and make a written commitment to kick -- every day. And pressure in blocking the door to put it in writing until in the crisper clearer it's been writing it's not going anywhere pocket change her mind about raising taxes. -- medical costs throughout the same lobbying pressure because people know that the answers now. That's fascinating but isn't isn't there really a bigger problem that's more amorphous and that is. -- or maybe two of them one is what you do in Washington is largely invisible. So if there's people offering you all kinds of goodies and all kinds of rewards and all kinds is support for your career if you only vote for this bill. And there are these huge pieces of legislation. That may carry a name like you know let's make that much beautify America's roads but really what's in there is things have nothing to do with roads. It's very. Difficult. If you actually want to practice responsible government because you're in an environmental which irresponsible government is the name of the game. It's and that the pledge. It's an excess skeleton you know people have backed -- loans and lobsters have access skeletons they content lectures and clams can go very far down in the water and not get crushed by the pressure. You're right even with perfectly functioning back but we -- that -- keep what a -- of the questions that you needed access skeleton you need. Outside support it's not good enough. Kids say I would shut congressmen and senators that's backgrounds they do. Nobody can survive the kind of pressure. That you were under what you would you go to the Boston in the state legislature. While Washington DC in congress and flesh you have. Support and protection against that pressure the pledge is a good part of that. Working with. Taxpayer groups and and didn't work with that in general. Electorate and keeping in contact with real voters. The -- congressman and senators that she that we. Real people and their voters. Every. Two airport where security on the -- process and the rest the -- -- live in a cocoon with special spending interest. Lobbyists in Washington and they're represented is back with a district. You know Grover Norquist is our guest NWR killed Grover if you look at this piece of legislation this obamacare monstrosity. And have to make a prediction about where we will be within his country in ten years twenty years what have you with regard to all these new taxes all these new expenses all these. New government agencies telling us what to do on our lives what's the expectation. That even with Republican majorities even if we sweep then again -- into the White House take control of the senate. How far do you think will get in dismantling the thing. -- goodness the Republicans in the house and the senate unanimous consent fantastic it has to go completely. There are there reforms that need to be make but none of them that is. This is not the starting point to. We don't know that this the Obama bill was written with lobbyists in the room were actually paying cash. To have this -- written in the -- and it was written. It's. That can't happen. President Obama the Democrats had promised they were going to have. DNC staff -- that promise from -- Obama. Yes that lasted about twenty seconds I think. Question -- it. Instead of being the most open administration this is the most closed administrations ever had never been. It had to shoot tickets and documents are still saying anything wasn't commission to documents no you can't get doctorates but -- they were fighting. It at some point if you continue to be opaque and every time. We're able to break through and get some transparency such as that the scandal that the that the special interest were in the room. Where they wrote health care -- handing out cash to Obama's plans to run ads. To push to tell. To -- today at two dollars. Really delighted about that for two years now without -- -- we're having arguments about other things that the administration has its hiding. Vicious that the moderate Republican. Hurry and Mitt Romney is committed to repealing Obama care. And reforming health care with consumers in mind rather the government first and foremost. And also can move reforming the tax code. The way that's not a section creation if Obama wins the presidency. Do you have. 500 billion dollars by cutting. Medicare. In order to go my way out of Medicare to go to here. Right than another between five to donate their little Fuzzy on this side and 800. Billion in tax increases. Then. You have a 500 billion dollars each year -- trillion dollar tax increase starting January 1 56 days after. The election. I think this is gonna focus the mind to the American people fairly clearly this is about vote for Obama. The government run your healthcare -- and got. Medicare to pay for Obama candidate in the -- 568. Hundred billion dollars in tax assistance -- -- five trillion dollar tax increase on top of that. One million Americans are going to be changed it which will be paying the Alternative Minimum Tax. Which was on -- first hit 155. Rich people Teddy Kennedy. Capacity 1969 -- -- -- we attacked 155 urged people to we're gonna catch. 31. Million Americans Hamlisch. This trickle down taxation liberals promised there -- only tax the other. Promised a lowly taxed again popular promised federally -- the few. And there's an account for the rest of us. Obama care fight and obviously the book debacle explains how this is the weakest recovery in the history of American. The United States since World War II because of what Obama did not beat -- beat -- didn't do all the things he did they dis recovery weaker. And that's my job creation and so we can GDP is so weak.
