The hottest politician in the state of Massachusetts maybe in the country Scott Brown US senator -- you don't serve. Trying to get that done is that you -- -- -- know we were 7000 farms in Massachusetts so. It's well and it didn't matter is and I'm glad we're we've we've been paying out about forty amendments day and that's. -- -- so it's a good process the way it used to be so it's been that's been enjoyable process. Why what is there inside the farm bill that would be of interest to process voters. We'll just just creating their lover regulatory certainty sure a lot of the farmers know. You know what they can't expecting in the upcoming year trying to figure out if there are going to be. There's programs are available or not can just trying to egg crate pad that level of certainty and stability. Is there harm. Are there issues says he'd like we we know about the fishing industry and you -- working hard with fishermen. -- we actually were -- a -- tried to attempt to put something in there regarding fisherman to give them the ability to apply for. Who long relief and then disaster in the first cut him out fishing for -- -- You know they're all -- -- connected so. But is there are similar are -- similar issues where. Farmers in Massachusetts are getting screwed as a result of some government thing. They did. -- Massachusetts farming is a little bit different than on the midwest we have a lot of the smaller farms and in my hometown of grand community. The Big Apple which is a huge apple farm and there are other smaller farms saying Massachusetts. There -- no more where try to wrap it up today and and then to go through in the church which tend correctly and then -- -- kind of move it forward or not -- what else you do work. The next thing we really need to do is to -- to work and cyber security as you know it's it's a real issue we have many. Countries that are attacking yes -- through cyber means. A lot of criminal elements of trying to get in ten countries trying to get our proprietary. Information. Our work product they're stealing it and it's it's very very scary so bad that I'm hoping will be the next thing but before then there was -- so built this animal 500 hours to make sure that we can have a post office since viable into the next century. Issue and they had a supermajority Democrats and there were basically pass anything they want it from two years. Then I got here and they had to stop them talking they had to actually seeing crude minority party and we really. Move things forward to and a lot of bills came through my office sand. So so I was so obviously honored to have that -- that war and still play that role the last I think five out of seven billion reminder for I played him. Though we hear all these complaints about how it's so divisive in Washington it's impossible to get anything done wire all these things pass and. You were absolutely separate them the facts from the fiction obviously. And the media love to have you think -- don't we don't talk couldn't do anything that's -- reality we have not shut down the government we talked about it we've drawn a line in the sand we've. Bill through committee and it's coming up through. Into the general. Memberships and we're going to be working on cyber security we did the crowd finally we we've got to. A lot so things you've -- if you reach across the child to another senator do you guess Haas still really our -- let's talk about including me know of course I'd say I'm -- -- in my party 54% of the time. And and the second most bipartisan senator in the United States senate and I'm doing exactly. Well I certainly going to do come down here worker than a person of goodwill to get things done and that's exactly what I've been guilty in interest. And says it's quote quite nice because I don't owe anybody anything can the only force so help me get elected really. Where the people of Massachusetts in this semester really really good paying them and I'm happy to be here. This is confusing for Oscars you know we get fed all these phony story lines all the time and then they get repeated over and over again. So -- that's the misinformation in the mean time. You look at professor Warren trying to rewrite their own history in minimal access to broad broad the last few weeks is if she can't rewrite mind. And I have a bad record that I am proud of and it's one of bipartisanship. And then you can take got a way -- -- agreement -- my votes. But once again I I tell lot of folks who you know are here this -- -- so that's great idea can be right unit remain near 80% friend yourself make 5% friend. -- -- that in -- 100% enemy because. So -- -- going to be down here in lock step voting and the other members do 97%. And about what their party and we don't need. People down here being obstructionist we need people who are gonna be problem solvers and can you play -- working across the aisle and getting things done because we're we're. We're Americans first and and then weren't trouble we need to get our fiscal and financial house in order right away. Do you feel like that's some thing in general that people are ready to do something about I know everybody in congress knows. That we're ready to fall off a financial cliff we have to change direction but are they willing to act on. Sometimes yes sometimes no idea idea I think there's opportunities here there was some of which we've we've let go away the select committee had an opportunity to. Go and have everybody take a tough vote and it instead of doing that they punted. And that was frustrating now we have other opportunities to really get our fiscal and financial house in order to remember trying to I came down here. Eleven point 95 trillion dollar national that's up to 157 and a little over two years and it's incredible and then they were -- what 4243. Cents and every dollar if we do nothing. In the Nextel at three years. Then give or take care we can be like Western Europe and Greece and that's that's that's deeply deeply troubling for me and many other people down here. Where do you come down on the young American I don't know how much time we have before six when you need to remember to say tomatoes okay and a couple more minutes and -- -- Kerry hurdles there are -- call -- -- co host a night. I know you guys just can't just I think there's no number I think I'd be out economic argument on on the one hand. It it strikes people like me is nots. Debt wind budgets when when incomes of the government stops in revenues slowdown. That we don't slow down spending to match up but then they have the economic argument that when there's a downturn. You need to keep -- federal spending going need to keep government spending up otherwise you make it worse. And that's why they say we have to -- were essentially doing a one point four trillion dollar stimulus every year the nobody talks about. And is that necessary do you think in order to avoid. Making things worse. Although the numbers are real side you're right we are and they retire our debt is as you know was. Fifteen point seven trillion -- and -- nationally you know at the end of the year you're right we have we run a one point 41 point five. Trillion dollar deficit and we we can do that. And it's a combination approach I look at what we're doing in the federal government approach is not a good Steward of your money. As evidenced by most recently senator copper -- and I had another hearing last week. -- Medicaid just to collect outstanding overpayments. And improper payments we spend a 101 million dollars to collect 20000010. Spending eighty million dollars and taxpayer money to do something. And then had -- not be done well on when we brought up the hearing. They fired all the contractors -- oil collecting the money so unless you put your finger on it unless you go low end. And then they can bring and China light to these things they never get done so the federal government is not against Serbian many -- that. I don't know how it can be -- this far away and there's no compelling reason for them to go good to go make sure that we're -- -- new version. In -- there weren't a financial emergency and we can't continue on this this path. And we need to look at the way to get our fiscal and financial house in order and it certainly is invite. Continuously and offering more more stimulus packages have -- continuously -- more more money. How we need to create got a little regulatory and tax certainly we need to let. Our businesses throughout this country know. That in fact hey this is the tax policy this is what you gonna be able to do in the future and then they go down that path we can't be. It can't be crushed like these regulatory agencies that are they're circumventing congress and in this is -- this is a real example where professor Warren I differ. She wants certainty more money out of your pockets and -- pocketbooks and wallets. And have more regulation and I don't there's planning and of this planet money coming into the federal government. And there are plenty of regulations we just need to make sure that there are good regulations. It seems to me on a philosophical. Level -- that did Liz Warren is is in another -- this whole thing. The jobs destroyed there and she literally it's still going to want to create can man mechanism to have more and more and more come out of businesses and individuals I -- -- for example take the healthcare bill. She is in favor of it in there and and that question is Massachusetts. Especially when it comes Carrara. Her company uses -- nineteen new captain than there. And that issue and they reverend I'm not then -- that's so that's a different she wants to raise taxes I don't she wanted when she when you're talking about. Student loans that are in the latest claim that she's she's misrepresenting. My record and misleading the voters on student loans of course I want student loan stream anymore. I voted for that very thing to have them remain low and she would have you think that I I don't want students to have low interest rates. I also have a proposal that users and spent in him and allocated federal dollars that are already and in the system tips to actually pay for it. I -- voted against that whole issue would have supported it would have paid for that by taxing our small business owners in the middle of a three year recession is just a different way of looking at things. Scott Brown -- with a 617266. Succeeds succeed if you have a question for Scott. So do you feel all of that in the state of Massachusetts which it was some of the biggest media organizations here I tend to be pretty liberal like the globe. Do you feel like you get your side of the conversation now what are you being treated fairly. Well listen I it is good is that there's going to be papers in the media have a job to do and I respect that job. And then leave have to push back constantly need to have them report the facts correctly. And rely on the faction not editorialize so we do a lot on our -- by circumventing their symbol to the new media sources FaceBook Twitter. Mixed center extender so we'll we'll do we'll do that on around so we're gonna continue to. To get the word out and hopefully people understand if you have a question just pick up the phone and they can certainly reach reach me -- to them. You know I'm not gonna have professor Warren or anyone else I'm rewrite my history because. -- can tell when you run for high office his testing hadn't taken it's one of honesty credibility and trust worthiness. And professor Warren to has felt that credibility test and then as evidenced by an affection claim to be in native Americans. -- been -- -- -- or she didn't you don't know if she went she did how she did I mean there's just so much back and forth. And so there's a credibility issue so when she's talking about. Well scrap around and you wanna do this guy -- is that there's this. Is this a credibility issue because you can twister on the votes and if you try. You have to be ready to -- -- to understand that that people don't believe you because. When she says Scott brown and his trying to weaken the Wall Street reform. But that was the deciding vote to make sure that things didn't didn't exactly casinos through their money. And while the bill is not perfect -- have to have her. Especially when she was -- the little White House lawn. Saying -- strongly built in three generations say now apparently it's not that they could stick credibility once again and her ability to try to -- the desire to want to mislead the voters. And in turn on just. Also say one though one the last time you heard it come up with a solution -- nearest you know criticizing this approach than -- yeah I take a lot of votes. And she says she wants to talk about the issues. What I'm talking about the issues they work on the issues I have meetings on the issues a meeting with prime ministers and and business leaders in the end and a military leaders throughout the world. Only issues each and every dead and voting on issues for the last three days. From 11 o'clock to 8 o'clock PM I don't need. You know can petition every single week. Now lot of things that most of us -- try to look at this logically realizes that watched it or do anything efficiently and you know the hope is with a guy like let that stop. That we can start so look at a lot of these programs entry to the -- the services. You know for less money. They're expected to want this to be a method for the average voter I mean it seems illogical to me -- -- know what he joke that I thought about that package. -- people I think wanna get a good value for their dollar. And in once they understand that. In fact they're not getting that good value for their dollar they wanna make sure that we we try to do the right thing and do that streamlining and consolidating. It is a good program that's working they wanna make sure they worked really well and they want us to help him continue on their program it is not doing all they want to get rid of it. It's a question though politically whether it's it's it is who knows maybe in somebody's district may have a special interest group that they've already kind of sold out too so you have to. Yet to fight through that institutional blockage of doing things better and correctly streamlining consolidating -- looking at the top to bottom review of all those. Programs as we're doing in the military as you do when your business and -- and you join your homes we need to do that and the federal government and we're doing some of that senator carper and I assume -- some great hearings are really shining some light. She's very searching she agreed to varying President Obama has done and but you'll actually blood and people on the floor not compromise you'll know what that's what we have a problem down here for. Already people don't want to compromise and they don't wanna work together. So you just tell him that you know they have a very real choice somebody's down -- you're trying to. Represent our state no country or somebody's going to be in lock step below the special interest in their party. Yeah you -- you mentioned earlier in the percentage of voting and I think you were sharing to the members of congress in the state of Massachusetts because -- Democrats from the state of Massachusetts -- vote got about 97%. In lockstep with the party Ingraham talk about device goodness. The real divisive this isn't about the way people talk to each other. It's about the fact that when something is right people still won't cross the aisle and vote for because they -- about old pay whatever the bosses tell my guests. That's all the time I have I have to guys who've been in the -- so obviously in the senate to countries and I really is a great idea that. Harry Reid is -- vote that way I am like what happened there and then you represented Nevada. Had no you represented in such and such states so -- it's important for -- states. That's one of the problems and have these groups like no labels and groups like that come down and say well we need to do this and legislate then they don't. You have to have people who -- -- slam now would be a party or would there would be special interest groups all the time you need to have them. Just vote them in the right way because I read the bills and I understand emanates. See how they -- Massachusetts our country your debt and deficit and -- vote that -- period. And that's not how we will be with professor warned she will be looking over to Mary -- that comes up for a comes down.
