Did Govenment waste Taxpayers Time with Roger Clemens Trial?
Tue, 19 Jun 2012|
Roger Clemens was acquitted Monday on all charges that he obstructed and lied to Congress in denying he used performance-enhancing drugs to extend his long career as one of the greatest and most-decorated pitchers in baseball history. Fierce on the pitching mound in his playing days, Clemens was quietly emotional after the verdict was announced. "I'm very thankful," he said, choking up as he spoke. "It's been a hard five years," said the pitcher, who was retried after an earlier prosecution ended in a mistrial. Was this trial a waste of taxpayers money?

We wasted federal tax dollars. Having congressional hearings on whether or not there should be steroids in baseball. I think -- if I'd like to point out there are pressing issues that congress. And -- -- within -- -- federal tax dollars bringing him to trial. How many do you think this is a travesty. Not -- justice that he was acquitted but many of us think it was just was infuriating because. Roger -- things. Shouldn't have ever been in federal quiet room in the first place. What is the difference. Really what is -- different there are a thousand products on the market right now oxy kind all of these different products. That make it easier for guys like Roger Clemens to enhance their performance. And you we're gonna actually have watchdogs. That make sure the professional. Sports players. Don't inject steroids don't take steroids frankly I don't care. So do you can't do you do you think it finally I'm gonna use steroids. 6172666868. Because the idea that we wasted and nine what would it and nine week trial that they said. Nine weeks. Of absolute nonsense. That cost the taxpayer is millions of dollars. And I used this well here is because they have no evidence. That he took something kind of enhancing drugs in out of that that happened so I believe that he was guilty as far as I'm concerned. Hi JJ texture on that on apply mortgage -- signs said hey we need congress to investigate NASCAR they're breaking the speed limit. -- How. Well I think it's actually. I I I think there are two things those three things number one lying to congress is I think he's applying for a job to Peter Carter on you know that's what they do. It's gonna say and -- added I think congress and how many of these politicians have been you know. Orchestra under -- for the reservation. On. But I expect the biggest the biggest problem not that I it was Roger Clemens the biggest substance humiliated she went to the Yankees I don't care opera he went to the Yankees and for that -- is. Naw I think the only thing that really is -- important about it is sort of another caller we brought so alluded to is the high -- thing. I believe that's really the reason that they their congressman actually into acidity for a moment. Sure that the Tibet thing and that. If these kids do it in high school and it's -- is particularly -- -- for. So visual and is that you tax Beijing picked on Kerry get -- that all the time. Rouse who OK there's the then you don't care 6172666868. And have you seen anyone on steroids. It is so obvious that Major League Baseball to be picking up the tab that's not the United States taxpayer what do you think Franco -- and -- I I agree that you are but. Michelle. And you know what I'm like this say about that that is Jose Canseco who want a pretty much open a can of worms on that one but that we've been going on for a long time as far as the steroids go and and then what. If you really investigate the whole thing and you know I'm from got about 2004. Red Sox but a lot of what we're using steroids back there and so a lot of Major League play is it on the map by holding one. We'll -- that not tax money -- mad at me if if you wanna open up a can of worms that -- what you gotta bring a lot of people before the judge. And that's the whole thing rank -- idea that congress is actually spend our money. You know actually prosecuting Roger -- the crying. Point how many times. And these hot shot Wall Street bankers lied. And you need guys who showed up in the private jets to testifying -- congress right after they got cut stone massages on the taxpayer. You know you prosecuted them for the allies about where everybody's 401K money went. Exactly the -- and then I -- -- mention real quick as I know you're on that subject. Now expect -- to be a Little League umpire. And I remember that one QB and a bit -- little it and he was skip the swing the bat because of the data that would -- so adamant. You know adamant and I expect app but for all model like every game I knew what meant that showed up but at the wrong ball. So I've seen parents on the other side to not like not just in. Protective but hole where. I don't know all the crazy about their kit like there are Major League player of that at all it's it's not a single watch and inept that he'll. The literally coach Imus be so hard I mean the poor little Beckett did make -- play catcher. He was yeah he was -- -- exactly he would. I catcher I know that frank well because in the fourth grade on my T ball team I was the -- you advocate who actually captured -- and at first base. An awful -- Not -- not that wrong wrong what you you know brought to QB go like there -- a little -- -- a guy like now. Exactly you know. I. Frankly -- even. Right away I know when their other showed up that there I was gonna help the problem with the material but to smile about it yet and that indicate which shaking. You don't shake it with the -- Just old -- over himself and not be unable to swing it. He was scared -- Villa that he gets the ball are even hit the wrong way that it that would climb all over the at all. Imagine what kid. Shake it up and with a bad how how the -- hit that is that is. Exact. Its own island. Apparently Michelle at that need to meet the likes some my daughter reform school not -- -- that's what I -- And I'm sure that you are right I mean that our stories crank them out great Q I heard at salute our stories. About parents at these games. And I'm sure you have to only talk about them because the hockey mom has finally come out. Remember this happened in Wilmington and you heard the big brawl she raced guide to the ice with a purse and her mom -- -- And her right -- outfit. And she wanted to break up a fight between. Her son in another kid at a hockey games. Now -- said that when you a Little League coach that happen all the time with parent I've had so many coaches call in and they you had no idea that parents. Absolute worst. -- talk about bullying. You want to lock up kids in schools the bullying parents. Bully each other they believe that coaches they bullied around kids they believe the players. What does that mean for the whole sport that's the question we're gonna have you wanna come back with the outrage the day today the doozy it's a DO. It's morale BO now any abuse. Anywhere now -- who has listened to my show before it knows I have -- worst travel karma. I always get stuck next to the girl you know all these stories next to the girl.
