Everything is -- body and we're wondering how are things in Rhode we we read about Curt Schilling studio 38 lay -- of everybody. And -- shot cover Rhode Island taxpayer money having been pledged to support and help this company grow. What's the reaction down here in the street nobody knows Providence on Rhode Island better than you what are you seeing buddy here. Well. Are the obviously people are very disgusted dissatisfied in they've they'd have a one of the money to be alone too old to be guaranteed to insurance company in the first place it was pulled on back in 2010 -- this was hot political -- During the 2010 gubernatorial election. And and that was pulled on in the polls at this 58% April relatives did not want to advance the money. But it was kind of a combination of -- I guess. People and which -- of people want to jumpstart the economy here with a brand new industries is digital. Video game business which they thought was our right to act and we could jumpstart -- here -- able to. It's a pretty fragile business very competitive business and disk I didn't have a track record in this business and but. You know was kind of politicians getting involved in one trying to cling who's -- credit. In the must have been a lot of inside deals to and that's that's being looked at now. You know and. But he -- I gotta ask you with fifty million dollars already on the -- out of a 75 million dollar guarantee. You know those same not that the same politicians they have another elect officials and in Rhode Island. Now been tempted to say well gee maybe if we give him another 568. He can get to that next bridge and that bridge is gonna be where we detail -- taxpayers stance. No no overwhelming odds. And they were looking to get some video credits in the government stepped in and actually not -- business and bad good money after bad money. You know this was very problematic from the beginning I mean there's a big burn rate in this thing you'd get higher at 400 employees you hired some treatment of them more. And think about -- old they -- to be guaranteed 67500. Dollars a year and when he had the benefits in the course of carrying his employees probably -- in 90000 benefits. We have 3400 to view the map to the mass they burn the burn -- like 3040 million bucks plus get them build a building. And advertise at all let's start it was. All it was one game and I have actually. And I understand can that that the money that was realized -- a lot from when he realized that first game went to pay off previous Landers. And you know the whole thing here is what law firm was used as -- tax credits were big thing here and and speak without grosans friendly with a guy who was a lawyer me -- didn't come to Providence and look at real patient lawyer you know that's subtle work. Let me ask you this you you -- touched on this but you don't work where people just enamored with the idea that they would have you know Curt Schilling coming to add to the state it is that where this all started. I think that was part of that but I also think that the economy here it was not good to recession was we would deepening recession. The unemployment rate was probably 1213%. Whatever it was. In this was a way that they think politics jumpstart the economy you know be economic -- what what troubles me is. Is when they gave them a money order guarantee despair there's money. That they originally went to. That they they didn't put a trying to checks and balances and didn't have the kind of what stalled you know why would be any bank loans audio puts money up. My gut they would have someone on the board they would have periodic monitoring that they would have to diligence that not -- that seems to happen here. Indeed they were an -- with him -- that was the case that they repayment with him Italians state like. Like Rhode Island despicable we would vote for Yogi -- Wallace. Hot hot hot body all of you could put it all you could put it that way I'm I'm I'm -- I'm curious. Is does governor Chafee -- begin to rise because he's been -- consistent opponent and we read that two of the top economic development officials. Have resigned in the wake of this yet no in Australia of the shelling company will you know what's the story behind what. Or that I just Colorado this morning that the the reason why there's one woman. Who was appointed by chasing after the -- was -- she resigned because. Change you want it to load to order that it hurt -- stepped down as -- shippers and she's the executive vice president so OC BS. And wanna -- was a supporter chase -- But that -- and be out it's just confusion there and that the economic development develop both the -- director has resigned. But he was part of book. The -- on the in the politics. -- you really want this guy -- to be the head of economic development executive director but he was it would afford to partly became governor because. The senate president was part of the week she said she wondered am not -- percent of the total proved to direct. I mean she -- -- because pointed. Yet Katie Katie could have appointed Warren Buffett to be an economic development equipment rejected by the senate seat. And they would have been disputed because senate president -- her or economic development. And and so what's been it's disorganized and disabled is. So little. So little. Yeah. Now his opponent who's in general treasurer this remarkable woman she's saying -- you want to run for governor against him. The pitch he was pitching for the Red Sox at -- dating. A lot of them put these great building downtown I was asking is what they've done in that province in awhile. -- I was -- I was down there within the past couple of months you are in the middle of the dates to the city still looks great seems to be very active very vibrant. I can't speak for those retail you know clothing retailers and everybody else -- has a lot of that. Disappears with you know Internet mr. Nelson. You know he had some difficulty and he actually was on a taxpayer funded vacation for an -- But that being said and he gets a lot of credit not just down there but elsewhere for -- kind of the rebirth and the rebound of rob -- -- and it -- It's itself has probably just perfectly fine you know just like any other city but it's the rest of the state the Israelis have -- some trouble and now this just adds to it like we said 400 people up without a job and a second already not already the second highest unemployment rate in -- country in the country. And I -- say just again Curt Schilling never went into this venture with the idea that this day no that was not he's got thirty million of his own money by the coordinate global it definitely is immediate reasons to want distinct to succeed.
