To Voucher Or Not To Voucher: That Is The Question

And so at the same time that he was putting his kids in the private schools. The only way that that that many people in DC -- people. Not the beautiful people have to get their kids -- decent education is through this. Opportunity scholarship program. And you can imagine what the teachers unions think of the opportunity scholarship program moves from words that opportunities. And scholarship all of the the only way that that could be worst habits had merit opportunity scholarship program. So they wanna get rid of them and Barack is owned lock stock and barrel by the teachers' unions just like all of democratic -- in Massachusetts. And so he said he's gonna get rid of this pro -- here it is the first black president of the United States some shall include Bill Clinton. And he he's getting rid of a program. And its design basically I assume there are few white kids and Asian kids involved and -- it's basically a block program. To get black kids into decent schools so they can have some kind of future. Mitt Romney said Wednesday today he will expand Washington's endangered voucher program as part of a broad. Push for more school choice nationwide. Setting up a dramatic contrast with President Obama who was called for the DC program to be phased out. And with teachers unions who fought against expanded choice. And this the same thing that's going on Wisconsin you know it's it's a public sector unions that don't want any changes that don't wanna have to make any more contributions to their pension funds. But don't wanna have to make any contributions to their health care funds and a bigger bigger bigger -- loops. They're they're trying to recall the governor and the the majority of people don't work for it for public sector unions in their tax dollars pay. For these these programs and it's just it can't it cannot go on it's as simple as that. In the the system is not designed. To what did to have one group of people getting paid a lot more getting a lot more benefits than not. Then the other -- that in the people who were actually picking up the -- mean that you know their heart to I think Ann Coulter wrote this column last week there actually are two Americas. But the two Americas are. The public sector and the dreaded private sector of the people in the public sector. Have have I still have defined benefit pension plans. They still have health care that the costs of practically nothing compared to what -- what in the dreaded private sector. And they have they have almost total job security. Overall his plan relies heavily on giving to teach parents more choices in schools as a way to push reforms on troubled school systems. And supporting BC's opportunity scholarship program mr. Romney is setting up one of the clearest differences between the two. Mr. Romney said he wants to expand the program -- make it a model for other jurisdictions. The program which was created and funded by congress has been politically contentious from the start with a powerful teachers' unions opposing it but city parents and support. Mean how can Barack Obama welcomed -- how could any president especially the first black president be against giving giving. Black kids basically a way out of this this terrible school system. As of this year more than 16100 students were enrolled in the program which offers scholarships of up to 8000 straight grade 121000. For ninth through twelfth grades the money goes to pay tuition at private schools including religiously affiliated schools mr. Obama tried to in the program when he took office but eventually reach a compromise to let students already in the program continue but halted new applications. -- imagine that. Now you're you're so you're in a nice you're in a good school the good -- high school you know and and if Obama had his way. You would've been thrown back into the into the pets. That are the DC public schools. The of the money went for to save jobs. For a public sector people money taken from the taxpayers from the dreaded private sector to given to public sector unions.
