But I yeah later on he's going to be Jonas -- to talk more politics where you guys as well. I I did wanna start -- Francies its broadest since we can has brought us the old days not here yet -- -- away for an to kick off on that. I I askew com. Rob euphoria that you were nude guy right you're Newt Gingrich. I I worry you -- -- -- then Newt Gingrich fan that since I was like seventeen I went it went to DC when I was eighteen and and he was still just giving his crazy speeches during special orders and my my goal was to -- -- -- to get him to Simon Rush Limbaugh Balkans and dated yet we ought to be asked if the and -- in the corner at all so -- he's his. He he is a model. That if the Republican Party in Massachusetts followed by actually talking issues and anyway there's something could. Premium like in in the sense of a model in the early ninety's or will now notice I thought about Guatemala in the eighties in the in the ninety's and how to take control of the legislature. I think my friend Jim lines up in. -- -- -- Is is kinda helping to follow that model. I'm wearing you know he believes that we should be inhuman a bunch of the French who believe that we should be standing for issues in -- stop for a ourselves up as Democrat -- And and by doing so he's he's gaining notoriety in -- there helping to push. The gender and get some things in the budget from. That they want in in perhaps you know in the next six or so years take over the legislature which I think is completely possible. -- -- At this point tell I pose this question of the callers to do you think Newt Gingrich is still running for president it's pretty clear at this point that. It is basically mathematically impossible for them to get Mitt Romney offer Ron Paul or Newt Gingrich to get the nomination on top of that. There's also that little known rule where you have to win five states to have your -- submitted. For nomination on the from Florida convention -- in appears neither of them are going to do that I'm Gingrich is only went to states Paul. Aaron Bremer what happened in the Virgin Islands I think he may may have won the -- moderately well I Virgin Islands in and they stole from me at that they stole an old man show so I as my roommate tells me and so morning so I. So. I'll ask it pose this question that caused Newt Gingrich still getting Secret Service protection and he also he is in India using this campaign is in tremendous debt. Newt Newt Gingrich guys came -- for a half million dollars and that for something million dollars and that. Eyes the Secret Service protection cost and made three decades it's it's multiple -- -- granted it. Is -- it's actually forty is that as a daily caller went out -- call and I'll look it up it's forty grand today to give Newt Gingrich Secret Service protection that is at least it should hear Gingrich should new gear now poses to U into the callers. -- Newt Gingrich a -- their race and stays in the race all the way to convention as he says to quote give voters a real conservative choice. It's gonna cost voters around several million dollars -- pop up until the elect I hate about which is in the late August. Newt Newt Gingrich should run his own race if he wants to stay in the race and considered you know continue to to spend his money or other people's money to -- he's more than welcome to do so. New Gingrich in a lot began. Secret Service potentially weak you know we just try to assert six server security activity -- if -- -- pay the -- gave it that's fine but the eighties. It's beyond the point where there is a a path for his victory in I think he'd Pennsylvania's one a couple weeks. I think after this next week next week isn't it when he -- the -- so what's next week it's 26 buckets were -- so -- so after after the after -- got nominated every stop caring about -- progress or an -- after the Pennsylvania primaries after a couple more -- -- these primaries Tom. He's gonna see that there's no longer a -- I mean that the RNC has for all intents and purposes. Said that the race is over when they allowed. Mitt Romney to open up the joint fundraising account. There's it is now each -- the Romney victory count is now only joint fundraising out between you know the RNC the Massachusetts Republican Party the Vermont Republican Party in Iowa sure the -- 6172666868. I don't understand how this guy can continue your his -- is operation is in his main campaign to do is is basically dead in the water plot. The way the way he's -- it's very different I mean all could stay in the race Agassi is Paul's always been -- just run into. Get your trash it and yeah I should elected and when he six. While that's a whole mother I she asked them that yeah I was that I I was covering the -- down and Rhode Island covered at his event for covered his event at URR for reason masked -- I say. Congressman -- congressman Paul. Is it three truth to fact that use it at the convention that. That speak at the speaker slot would go two years son not to year. TT you would that happen and and he is like -- I haven't heard much about that now yeah that's. Beatrice because I I I could easily see his signed an -- I do at the Gingrich at this point is Gingrich and speaker slot. I think secret it's a speaker -- -- getting into it -- is a good speech and in he'll keel. Unlike I think Rick Santorum who would be very very -- -- and -- that began investigations. These people probably able about it that it -- I street -- my street block by block we he had Newt Newt Newt Newt will take. We got our culture and we will take back our country. And a lot more electable than anybody else. But at the 1992 Pat Buchanan speech that -- George HW Bush's political career. Well -- Kravitz is joined us how to votes but well I I'd just now got out of the cast party just I. I can tell you still is still got your way guys are exactly yet just throw it away what what put up -- foresee doing all of the inspector. And that's about it's about small town corruption these guys that love it and -- Other -- reds president got -- -- I was reading it is -- godfather of the musical. -- it's currently in the a little bit no it's actually it's actually great fun it's very funny and we have great cast -- And an English York you know that that was my question to David earlier this Exide will go because Ireland which itself so that now we have the two -- -- and. Allied Dave Dodd Robby you know is the editor and publisher of -- master gave Kravitz is one of the co founders three of fathers and letters of blue mass group. Full disclosure I used to write over read massacre of arrived here. On radio and television with both of these knuckle heads frequently saw I -- -- and -- point while. Fight and die it is I this is a segment of action -- one to do for awhile but we're gonna have to. I'm a break here a little early vote what the save that I want wanted to do is it was just who you guys for awhile that's what the cause treated the less energy to hear his. In the eye and tell the sectarian like myself in you we do remember small percentage of the vote by. They are the result there is no it doesn't appear anyways there's going to be a libertarian option on the ballot. I went through the people of Paul papers for two run for for senate and its mostly. It is it their their independent candidates. The bulk of them have little to no name recognition there there'll are actually occupied candidates fifth column had web sites in their mostly occupy. Candidates -- wasn't really and then the rest she couldn't find anything about -- school would turn up you know forty people named John Smith live in this town it's like oh great. And then you get the ski and things it's like people mean your search or whatever find me. So. Yes there doesn't appear like in 2000 in 2000 and ten when you had done Joseph not that Kennedy Kennedy was on the ballot. And -- no relation to that Kennedy and he. He was on the producer of this -- caring guy who got to speak who is who actually think he was. He would speak for about five minutes in the debate it was there and there now -- and I'm moderated by David Gergen so I. It doesn't appear that there is actually to be a third party committed all eyes if you look at the spoiler information the way this whole search came out of looking at the possibility of -- if -- -- -- Franco could run as a Green Party candidate. But she can't you can not switching Massachusetts I like -- -- other states you can't switch. Before certain deadline. If you would -- to drop out and she gradually dropped out and switched her registration. And there was a certain point where you could do that I know because I was looking into this -- Gary Johnson who dropped out of the GOP. -- in time to register his obtained dual not well if if if Marissa to Franco wanted to. Get 101000. Green Party members which I'm sure there are in the state to Britain and the primer coat -- I liked it but that's a habit that's that the before the point. They did -- it is 101000 Green Party Alex I mean that's the proper nomenclature is Green -- part sorry Green range. Official party truck turner. Hop in Jesse Jackson and -- no real there's is that the real -- -- many local I don't do Green got together to bring those together you know those are two separate groups rained the rainbow. Group coalition of Massachusetts was. Born out of chuck not milking. Who that that was his group that you started mean the -- that the brittle coalition that he started was to stop the 695. Or whatever was -- the highway it was -- want to build through Roxbury. I think. Was it six and -- fiber one night and they wanted to build that stupid at least Elway has destroyed -- actually yet you guys were making an -- message delicacy -- they would never had to build African big because he went and voted to strike this they would have made a return boss on Jacksonville. Now from day no progress is called government said there. That's progress I saw progress it all back in the bag to. Yeah on the street gonna put this giant it was Alice what -- those building that is not that process towns that don't like you know progress -- have route to ninety he'll probably have. Ninety roughly 120 ability to ignore it and I'm not yeah it's now this raging debate going on about whether you know the so called brutal list architecture buildings of which city -- a prime example should be torn down because they're idiots or should be preserved because -- significant. Although being hideously ugly. There there is -- there there is a strange argument be made because it is as important period. Protect American it's freeware they've pretty much got everything wrong. It's the same thing. I have an angry and I joined. The fountain and you don't nightly nine and the rock the Internet. The the main reason I haven't had I think Aaron last I had both the hospital that the couple months elements -- facilities certificate. You on the map all. I really wanna be an axis camera can't wait it'll be a much better show. There are the reasons of having you guys on here is because. The senate race I know I'm cement and you guys -- you guys. C'mon let's in the year and there's nobody who's -- avarice of the Franco of the mass welded it there's that there's a small but style pork cadre folks on the site who're -- all informers the Franco -- my friend my salary is one of them. Yes yes that's certainly a little bit you stay is she she's tired cracked 15%. I would be very very surprised I don't even know we were talking sentence answer about whether she turned in time and I actually don't know if you're injured. He's your convention before after -- should do. But the caucuses -- and that's idiocy that it really has always been that the message from Dario says there their convention. With like a week and a half left to go for signatures of making it all of signatures all the delegates to help us by the signatures ethics and I don't know I don't I don't actually know ought to be exact timing. In those signatures no no mean feat. Some but then to get 50% of the delegates of course which which you -- at the convention on the ballot. Now maybe but -- so. And there's no there's no there's no Republican primary challengers opera on that at all. I wanna ask both the guys. I guess the start with this with -- and go to David. You on the senior registered Republican and I him but with libertarian and here registered Democrats and now. -- what so fought so after a loss like actually it's an -- voter revolt on both. I'll say it publicly I mean I will be your supporter okay you're both orders and that. I I mean I'm I'm I'm registered as an independent com. When did you change to prevent -- from one. That registered and for awhile but on this at. The the -- -- -- say. Why issued Washington secretary means support Scott Brown -- -- -- and it. I'm not gonna sit here and stated that that Scott Brown is the most stalwart libertarians on the face of the earth and he's not -- -- somewhat of -- big government Republican in some aspects but. I mean the Elizabeth Warren stands for the entirety government gender of the Obama administration and in if if -- libertarian I don't think you like. Big government -- any -- for the nanny state. For a bunch of things that -- I think that you know I think Scott truly believes in individual responsibility truly believes that individuals should be able to make their own choices. Many of those choices you know require those people to fail in life and then you learn from -- phase and into something else. I think that Elizabeth Warren wants there to be a safety net wants the government to swoop in and and and save you from yourself. And I don't think that's a libertarian position -- now I think you know. Personally and I think the Scotland believes that there should be community based organizations that should help people come -- give them a hand out. But not with the -- and -- that that is. I think that that's pretty much -- if you're if you're for big government -- for Elizabeth Warren if you're not that the government's -- project choice. But you -- libertarian. Could say you brown voted for dot frank he when he was a state senator he voted for Romney care. Again it's it's Nolan and soda are a number 82 is always a pleasant echoes the person that agrees with you more than any other person and national army. That's going to be yet he's also been a prominent drug war not that Elizabeth Warren has done any different she's been Franklin won't even consider. Wally was stationary -- -- -- -- that's not gonna turn them vote to a point. But by good -- But but you so you're saying that. Your argument is she doesn't speak she he doesn't suck as much it was a Sinorice. -- assume. Any of it when it comes to those things. Yeah you vote you vote with the person that it's close if you want a lot more issues and if you're libertarian Indian and you don't know lot of charity don't a lot of libertarians will continue to do was -- don't vote or they are writing in Paper or they. Mean to imply consent that I don't wanna -- that -- don't -- limit vote and their more than welcome to do that with him out. But what has. It you know but you're saying he'll be with you sometimes I he did vote in -- he did vote for don't he did vote to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. Which was I think a big thing for a lot of libertarians he seems receptive to. Is to some movement in much he seems a lot of ways he has a similar attitude towards gay marriage that president does this. His ideas are of all thank I think -- -- -- -- any president used David and every tip my idea my position on homosexuality is evolving I think is what. I are our gays and lesbians or whatever that term was that he says he's at least if you wrap Charlie Eddy -- that Charlie Baker and that. In that case he just doesn't care. Really care about social issues -- that that was Charlie's been Charlie dated Scott Brown is not in favor of game there. I don't think I saw them out but I don't know I don't know I don't I don't like he's gonna he is not my point is -- the same position as president right the president has is not a supporter gave merit no migrants I think that's right and it's unfortunate that that's that's the you know it's. That's that's that's environment and it's it's it's been. Elizabeth Warren is about is anti voted for the end okay you mean not a lot of people. He was against them he's against that and so now. And that you know privacy and in Internet -- things he's. He's -- -- any any -- amendment type of pars when it comes to things like. When it comes to things like. The health -- yes he voted for in Massachusetts which is something that I take issue with him for present -- that the government should -- to buy anything but. There's a case to be made it unfortunately that's legal I mean like I -- John Adams sat in his. -- by candlelight and said I can't wait until the government forces people to do things because that seems like what John Adams would do so I just drop a footnote here I think this is such a great little fact that came out actually after the Supreme Court arguments about mandates there there was an individual mandate in the 1790s. To go out to that that every person. Had to bottom -- yeah it I must get because. Part of the constitution was to provide the comic effect so yeah just coming out of your monitor it's as you cut down weaponry. And there's just how it I just think it's got a little fact that at that you know at the time of the founding of the country. It it was actually not considered extraordinary to make people go and buy something and maybe they didn't -- about 60 that's a great. 6172666060. And also text us at 66 stadium I'm posing the question to you listeners into the Robin -- here. What what what what is the choice of libertarians have a history should they go with Scott Brown. Who. A couple on MIT's bombing DC -- the for -- friends was said to me. That he. We just remind images they Romney ask Ryan a Republican who go whichever way the wind blows but he also said that he thought. Elizabeth Warren was. The worst thing ever self. On the typical stuff argument but it does so does that itself I I click I need to hear -- -- that's a -- a sudden SL government leanings Obama is oval so. So you that was -- that was really interesting I heard that. We heard that sort of attitude stories like he had this guy bronchitis Oxford man that Elizabeth -- Good god -- Basically the gist of the conversation earlier so I'd like I. To hear David. Through via via Wi it but out David. Excuse -- Why should lot libertarians vote for your candidate there's definitely a case to be made four of the penalty area answers definitely case and he made for for brown I think what is the case to be made for. Firms there is deathly Casey made for brown as. -- as -- as rob elaborated on and as my friend in DC said almighty god is at war. Why what work it libertarians Palkot libertarians back or get behind for a -- at first. All think -- I think that's a really interesting question. And so I'm I'm glad that your post and let them. Of -- so for the true assertive you know. True believer libertarian. You guys actually when you're talking about Scott Brown. I think made made the case that you know -- true hardcore libertarian is not really done a lot of either of these candidates and you know a lot of them may just stay home or right and big bird -- Mickey Mouse. I think when it comes to. This sort of the social issues side of libertarian. There's no question that Elizabeth Warren is going to be much closer to the way you see the world than Scott. Scott Brown as an and you already talked about this he talked about gay marriage he talked about -- -- yes he used Scott Brown eventually got to don't ask don't help but it took him a really long time. And you know she's she's a social liberals -- in favor of gay marriage and so on and so. So the big question I think for further libertarians -- what about the economic stuff. And I'm certainly not gonna sit here and and claim that those -- Loren missed some kind of small government. You know character title insurance. We actually asked her when one blue -- group got to interview her a couple of months ago. By a poster this question which was you know Scott Brown had been making the argument at the time -- she hasn't said it so much recently. But at the time he had said a number of times you know the problem with the economy is that there's this wet blanket. Of regulation that's just bad regulation and taxes that that's just sitting on top of businesses and so on and that's why the economy's -- that's why we can't get things moving. As faster what what's your response to that. And she what she said was it in you know just to paraphrase he can look it up on on -- -- -- sure if you wanna read the whole thing but. But to paraphrase basically what she said -- Of the problem. Is not. Too much regulation per say the problem is that it's the wrong regulation. And that sort of goes on to say look you know the big players the Bank of America is and the city banks and the General Electric's and those guys. They don't want. A simple tax code. They don't want a simple book of regulations they love big long complicated books of regulations that they can get that they can then. Get their lobbyists to comment and -- and loopholes. And you know we've seen this over and over and over again where this is the way the tax code is written this is the way. This is the way the regulation books are written. And so. So what she wants to do it's it's it's not less regulation per say it's smarter and better regulations to create a truly level playing field so that everybody. However big or however small they are if they've got a good idea if they make a good do dad but they wanna sell to people they have a shot to compete. And and you know and basically everyone is trying to play by the same. Rules and the rule book it's fair for everybody that's kind of her position now how that lines up exactly. With with the true libertarian. View of that you know just get government out of the way. Obviously it does not line. How. That that -- but I I have to say I gotta think that most people in Massachusetts even the libertarians. You know does and does anybody really wanna go back to the days one and you know. If you happen to fall into the Charles River your first stop was a poison control sooner or mass general hospital because you didn't even wanna start thinking about what had just gotten on your body I don't think so. And the reason we have a much cleaner Charles River now than we did twenty or thirty years ago. Is you know because it's clean water regulations on people can't. Factories can't dump their builds straight into the river on filtered the way they used to be able to -- so there's a certain basic level of regulation but I think most Americans and certainly most Massachusetts voters. Except and -- want Dan and I are happy to live with and so the question is. Where do you go from there. Mighty Mike pitch to those of you who basically think of yourself as as -- real small government folks is. Do you just want less or do you want it to be secure. With you we will we will take a break quickly but let's go to state couple calls and it's gonna fill in Dover failure up next with Gary -- and -- to CW RKO. -- -- One of these quote it's going to be casting right in both -- public interest -- one of these candidates. The just comment on -- Scott Brown so -- -- election got that legislation passed that there could be no insider trading information legislators. Agreed so legislate stock Jack yet.
