A paraplegic from Massachusetts may be facing 10 years in prison for hitting a man with a bat after the man laughingly admitted molesting his 3-year-old granddaughter, according to a police report. Francis Hebert, 57, of Martha's Vineyard was charged with a felony assault charge by Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe for the incident that happened Feb. 22. The accused molester was also charged by police for allegedly molesting two young Massachusetts girls. Should this man be put in jail?

  1. Who is the right candidate for the Republicans?

    Thu, 11 Aug 2011

The Republican race for the White House heats up over the next three days, beginning on Thursday night with a nationally televised debate where some contestants will be vying to become the frontrunner and others trying to avoid being knocked out. With eight declared candidates on stage, it is already a crowded field. But a lot of the focus in the hall will be on two absent Republicans: Texas governor Rick Perry, who is expected to announce on Saturday that he is planning to join the race, which is likely to see him move into first position; and Sarah Palin, who has not declared but will continue her tease of supporters with a visit to Iowa. Who is the right candidate for the Republicans?

In his Aug. 8 letter “Fail to the chief,’’ Rick Blum criticizes President Obama, and asks, “Is it too late to vote for Hillary?’’ It is puzzling to me how the substitution of one seemingly corporate-owned candidate for another would improve the lives of Americans. 4. Should Hit and Run Driver have had License Still?

    Audio

    Wed, 10 Aug 2011

The Taunton man accused of killing a teen skateboarder in a horrific hit-and-run accident has seen his license suspended or revoked 16 times, but could one day find himself legally behind the wheel again — even if he is convicted — thanks to loose laws that have legislators howling for reform. Paul Baran, 55, has a nine-page driving record that includes leaving the scene of other accidents, drunken driving, speeding, refusing to obey police and nine surchargeable accidents. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving away after striking Nicholas Silva-Thomas, 17, on Thursday, leaving him dying on the road. Prosecutors said Baran admitted to police he hit the teen, but his lawyers said in court that Baran thought he hit an animal. Yesterday, Baran’s license was yanked for the 16th time in 22 years, as he sat behind bars on $100,000 bail. Should this man have been driving?

Guys like that are writing laws that protect pet files. Guys like that want frank. -- The paraplegic we heard his interview earlier -- crispy -- a little bit and isn't isn't in here a little bit more of what this poor guy hasn't gone through. This man has had to cough up thousands of dollars for an attorney. And there is a group called -- protect children that has started it defense fund and him he has had to show up in court. -- his last court appearance and on Friday. And he's times that prosecutors and moving ahead with felony assault charges against him. And all he did was protect himself against -- 240. Pound. And guess why they won't pass that log in as anything. You I next in the coming in here and go to vitro Matt's family type all --

yet as a disturbance. I don't of art call it trying to get federal on this thing going on in India Emanuel tidbits of -- and in Brooklyn Jewish kid. It's almost like young children. I just dispensable. And diplomacy at a resort torture out -- that's which I don't understand how of people that distracted. I these foolish -- this so if you read our that they we have is the right just India. No words. Someone. Daughter is molested my son is -- I know it is it takes energy idea being to become angry and in wanted to get resent them sentiment so. When do we have any. Actual just.

What's the right word -- better -- not that surprises people anymore -- still you have -- a little four year old girl. As Minnesota our secure Oak Hill as pages stick around our girls actually supposed to be just. -- just like little like took the rap music that we did all the little whores and bitches and every perverted man. And I can I is going to be be canceled and and told -- you know we've.

Why you know are well I you know I am not advocating for vigilante justice but as a reason violent neighborhoods like -- Boston Bayard Brooklyn. They're not and -- and because in some ways you can't rely. Line. The hacks. That are continuing to get these really important positions in public safety. It drives you absolutely not -- but it doesn't -- any line. Anyone who gets is crazy is go to -- who is from -- protect children and he keeps he's a watchdog for all of these cases. When you when you think about the idea that we are gonna waste valuable court resources. At a time when judges at threatening to shut. And -- you courtrooms down because they don't have the resources. Last week judge is eleven judges signed a letter saying we are gonna shut. Courts down if you don't give us some money but we know wasting go to teacher oh valuable resources. Are prosecuting frank he birds.

so when that got out there went out there to protect his granddaughter palace site protect themselves should be there as brand shall we are. Trying to help -- make it through most of time life.

Now I know -- protect children got involved right away right after the story broke in the Boston Herald was written by laurel. And started up -- defense fund and I know that depends on has been successful but frankly -- I did not expect that depends on to come into play. I really got it to be a great wave may be the donations could be. Sent back into mass protect children for other resources at this point got find out on Friday in court on. That he's gonna continue to have to fight these felony charges that could send him to jail for ten year --

Is that he's here is that the body you'll survive jail is paraplegic. If you bury Hillary and -- that the baseball bat or recently had that was sent himself situation we're in custody. Now you know we never stop its its case would go to trial and here we are September 15. Support September 12 our charge is going to be a courtroom and try out trying to protect himself. A --

And any -- a look at this this paddock I was gonna use every excuse he can to get out of jail cell -- a few minutes so now we get to sit there and smugly so America. At this old man who don't by the baseball bat -- the small bruise on of them.

It is in my case as -- gonna take the -- ultimate test well -- jail to a courtroom prosecute an innocent man. So on that you know it the promised except. For society and not in well. People wanna get involved and help children are gonna do what they can't protect community issue cases like this they're afraid.

The woman who has been raped added added routed MBTA east -- right around. I mean this is busy like rush out what's commuter traffic people walked by. This woman. Being sexually molested by I an ankle bracelet on that he was on tempered demand this case. And then I'm really caught guy and and Ed Davis please commissioners have been like to thank the good samaritan called I'm online and I -- might. It is an interception that I was barely I would have done everything my architect there you know what it charged with. --

Absurd and -- we talked about yet folks there's really no incentive. To actually help. Somebody who is a crime victim. One net result is going to be a wheelchair bound paraplegic is dragged into a courtroom. And is basing their fear of ten years behind. Bars and he is that not at this silliest thing I ever heard. Her but to Peter as the head of -- protect children this is not the first time we've talked about stories like this.

Now we we have and I think it's because the public and get out there stand up and -- write these -- navigate past because people just don't involve. We have to be passionate about this situation would say at our site we don't do everything app architectural. Checked women protecting innocent. This type of people get out there -- stop. These that they thought this is the end result.
