Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum was the winner in all three primary contests last night, including an unexpected five-point victory in Colorado's caucuses. Santorum also won the Minnesota caucuses, by an 18-point margin, and he won by 30 points in the Missouri primary. He may not have any new delegates, but he does have the big Mo - momentum. Howie still did not believe that Santorum has a shot.

Mitt Romney had a third-place finish in last night's caucuses, trailing both Rick Santroum and Ron Paul. In 2008 Romney was able to hold John McCain and Mike Huckabeein a 3 way tie with 29% of the vote in the Missouri caucus. This year, with fewer opponents, he won only 25 percent. Howie asked is Santorum the new anti-Mitt.

Tim -- state treasurer receiver general do you solemnly swear on the ball on this by ball the belongs to me and leave a listener. That you will not take a job. From either Barack federal state or from Barack Obama or Deval Patrick or any public sector job should you lose the race for governor in. November yes I do so I do so solemnly I went so solemnly swear. So help me god to help me god so how we how we so. Okay guys okay well well okay we got that sandy we're all set that okay now we can move on. Thank you that was -- right now I even enjoy Sinatra said that.
Could do what we have done. He's use as Tim said some federal stimulus abbreviate the vice president was it was raining. I gotta give I gotta give processes in the neighborhood to him in the management of the year with -- that but I would play us and it just brutal and a friend and I were better today than it used to be intent. He deserves some of the credit. And Tim is right fresh all time Tim is right to thank you mr. Patrick won't risk while I think I think you're right -- I think I think Tim is right and go ahead and then you I just wanna build on and on Jim's point I'm. -- I'd love to have your health.
He seems to like you a lot he -- it's ever since I left the party loves me. Don't Joe don't don't don't you think I I was talking to somebody they're pretty good political observer he thinks the way things are going with these these amazing poll numbers. But if you're running as a Democrat. You you would have close to a 5050 chance of knocking them off in the primary next week and then you'd be -- like -- well -- as a democratic candidate for governor which is your polls are showing an inside all as we all understand it's not the best. Place to be an I don't wanna run as a Democrat I don't defend what to defend what they've done over the last two or three years I don't wanna run with debt party. Label to its knees so that's why -- left flashy media probably could -- but I -- up the win in November that's the only race I care about that's who wanna I wanna Wynette and running as a Democrat was not something that I wanted to do. What were brought the world perplexed leave by the use your statement to the state house news service that your you you you don't you're out of the Democratic Party that's you got -- TV spots radio spots in you know why you left the Democratic Party it's taxes. Yet next cruise today. You're gonna walk into a polling place in Quincy. And you're gonna take a democratic ballot yet yet because it's democratic candidate is contested races for state -- state senate. District attorney. In which there are not contested races on the Republican night's Republican senate there where I'd consider Dick and Republican ballot to vote. And in my vote count I know some of the players some of the people I think. Good candidates and even earlier. What's that Keating earlier. Not gonna say. Markets and the -- whom to vote for -- I have to start Morrissey or Driscoll marketing -- Hello Michael how -- I told you voted for McCain on the show and told me you voted for McCain YouTube told media you you've told everybody you voted for Scott Brown GAAP. You value back to -- you stood by your mom I'm just interest in here you know you just don't view an eight day act to IE I'm not an ominous this relies very hurt -- when he -- in order -- someone like tolerable from that could hurt them in the hometown. That could hurt them maybe in heaven now. What are these I mean I wanted to you know like I actually I I don't do it the congressional race is one that cheap it's time to one with because I know. Both can I -- all four candidates. And I think before good candidates both Republicans and Democrats but so I'll decide in now M. In November which part which -- a -- and and that one but it is an independent get to choose and that's that's what about the state -- are meeting here Keegan or -- now like I wanna get any of Trammell went Kazaa which UCL -- which is she if you want alienate the Asians the -- that's at. I know involved but also the Republican in that race who's running in November who elect a lot John hired dale -- was so good let's move up to the state level that --
Well I'm not your following is a Democrat I'm not a -- love to -- are you admit it's gonna hurt our party admitted I'm going to vote. Gonna pull the democratic ballot that's another reason is more races is no -- the Republican side is no primaries. With good as -- well -- Americana that and his -- got an opponent yet no nothing and treasury nothing you can take a you could take a sticker I -- buddy I. They've taken out of there any libertarians on the ballot now. Because that's why would do that how we want to -- What do you like about what you -- iota but what I could've done that I could have. Dot net as a Republican just approval point but don't hagel and I like to vote for contested races I know these plays this is my wrapped. Hi senator my district attorney from my district and I wanna make. I -- hope we'll put the best Internet that you were gonna vote for more -- over Driscoll. You may be right you may not be right you -- okay. Abu Ahmed -- I am gonna bet that you're gonna vote I don't know that the the brother in law fight Keenan versus hope verses. Versus Coleman. Brother in -- fight who who are and who were you -- your -- your for Tobin on the content okay and you won't tell me if you're gonna go for the copper the Asians now. Okay how much Grossman versus Murphy now I can tell you that when he got out of curiosity I'm not -- what I'm gonna -- an -- you're not -- now. Okay how about -- us verses a bump and lake. I like thankless beyond politics you will give me that one -- and yet that's I'm leaning that way let's put it that way you like I like I've run into guys like guys working really hard and as Suzanne it's good to but I like. -- like well that's the hard part it's hard but I'll get a choice you'll like a mall do irony here on god do. Again did this this what you couldn't you could mobilize all the people of lists all the people in Quincy I'm given everybody in Quincy is listening. Because they did they wanna know how you're gonna vote in these are not just tell him I'm not gonna tell him. I don't wanna tip the scales how we let the people decide that's my modern you know that let the people besides. Okay good try though I like that when I knew I knew tell.
State doesn't usually get me in trouble but it was but right I thought about it -- that wasn't short first that I that. The real races or congressional race which is going to be interesting and I like those candidates and I go back and forth in terms of which which side I'm actually gonna vote on November gonna vote for cheating. And they'll be so sure he's gonna vote your hope for achieving your I mean all the all the people in my iBook and Martha Coakley in the primaries in in the senate race. Yeah I thought she was the best democratic candidate I didn't bought a ticket Republican ballot is in scupper I was gonna win that race. Against Jackie Robinson. Enabled the -- on the final and that's I think when independents still. They take I like politics are like the fight as you know I I I like to see contested races so. There's not enough contested races in the Republican primary to get you don't wanna take a Republican value yet but maybe some -- well that's the -- and -- I'm an independent and -- Democrat sometimes Republican sometimes when I'm running for governor is an independent -- both parties I mean is this kind of crazy go to be voting in the party where you just saying you don't like the the party and more when am I gonna do not vote. Then I'd be in trouble for not voting like -- and debit -- ballot or libertarian how old god -- a waste my time. Luckily my OK I mean get it I'm not gonna hide away from the stuff on an independent doesn't mean I don't have thought to feelings on this don't mean. I don't like certain candidates who don't like other candidate you know what that you know what that's like. And and I thought about this when and if the Republicans had as many contested races are probably -- let me tell you endorsed people before the primary you -- you endorsed the -- Padraig because he wanted to keep Leo at Texas and Charlie Baker served in -- transition team -- so and enjoy -- brought that -- I did well someone's -- you don't bring it -- Right I will bring you know what I did not -- until I heard of until I heard a pleasure to and its transition team is his health care senior healthcare executives so. We can blame health -- Charlie Baker if you wanted did you did you work for repeat to illegal aliens last night is illegal citizens for somebody I might have I might have at one point. And that full part yeah -- you did so and get an idea I -- I -- someone told me I did so I must LA it was in the heat of the moment I think people knew what I meant. The did you go to trial is trying to draw a line between legal. India legal so I think its its citizens instead ill and and like you to turn aliens -- just like -- immigrants illegal immigrants legal immigrants aliens sounds like people from outer space. Somebody told me to Richard see you compared it to jumping in line of a concert. Not a concert I said it's cut in front of people who so you know I know -- clients and I said it's cutting in front of people. Who stimuli I didn't. -- Recent. Legal. Citizens that says there right recent legal immigrants other get the most Deng because they've waited in line for a long time it's not easy to become. A legal resident in this country and they get angry that people jump in line or get the benefits that that that they worked hard to to work for. -- I wanna thank you foreign their column for The Herald that we knew him for frontpage old splashed out that's Saturday and thank you ever heard it was a slow Newsday silly idea Tyson a question of -- wasn't meant it would be a -- might be employed to me but it should have been -- and my Jeep rather than -- we -- I wrestle with dad and that's that's that's -- I was hoping that maybe the the people who -- column went out of mind but they just let it fly south. I was so I'm surprised they let it fly in my -- I don't know we wrestle with actually we could give me in my Jeep right. You do incorrect you made a decision to go with media might -- he might keep a regular guy. My -- and I. -- I'll be in my age I'll be writing in my G that's the way I -- apparently the professional I'm just an amateur yes we did our best so we thought it was it was. It was all in good -- the white as many as many as your eyes as he got columns are.
Heard my -- I was trying to get someone trying to get some news here today you know with all -- I'd looked up all these people and you know I wanna find out you know I'm I'm voting in the say you don't. I'm voting at some of these fire not a flight cannot vote in Norfolk counties although I most certainly am what you are -- well that's right that's right that's right. Then he goes so I'll tell you so what if I tell you who I'm gonna vote for for a district attorney then you tell me -- not gonna -- I'm not gonna tell you but you wanna tell me that's fine. Who's gonna reflect. I would decide which party -- even a poll ballot for the but I know how they all -- all tell you if you'll tell me think okay so -- I'm running for governor you are not so. Nod and told people I'm gonna pull out -- and it would notice we're running as an independent but no freedom. There are no independents. I know that's what race what you call yourself and and the rally you call yourself an and you have an opportunity to evoke both sides I hope Democrats and and and Republicans vote for me you don't have to. I'm not just running for independent some running for Republican democratic and independent vote.
It's -- really there is no independent party issue says it's huge it's -- you're and -- and it -- right like I am right there's -- does not there's not an -- next to your name and others are you. I think is gonna be NYNEX many of the ballot -- but I mean it on the on the on the actual all the actual list yet those -- right it's not enroll in Russia right now that's that's I mean that's that's the reason you do to you can decide which value wanna pick and again. I base it on the race. You know I'm used to obvious because it was a Democrat picking just getting the democratic -- but those where the most more races are so are you gonna pick a democratic out. I'm mostly here I was gonna pick a democratic ballot but doing we have some sneaky stuff going on over my neck -- summing -- the -- no no no no no no -- okay. Married so no sneaky stuff going on and I know I think it will be after the primary but if it. What -- down and we got a good it's a good district and between -- for component count is a lot going on. Well listen how did you do last night I know you've figured that I know -- I want you want that's okay you -- issued a press release I did -- the -- yes I did you press really should quoted year old campaign manager right those say very independent -- yourself Diego. I putted well I thought I get done what they needed to get done in the debate. I don't think it was the most highly watched. Riveting TV in the world. And the tiny it's the first Tuesday after the election I mean after the Labor Day every day 7 o'clock at night once stationed. It was good though in the sense we got a little bit of an opportunity to mix it up and get a sense who would -- in these debates as they go forward I don't think the next one's gonna have Jill Stein -- the next two radio debates I don't think the TV debates on who either sell. I think this is the only one that's gonna have all former senate so that'll be different dynamic in more opportunity to -- meeting yet. To say more but hopefully we'll be why we back away he back the way a couple of times last night I were you why I mean. You know you're you're -- you're the third guy in the race I mean you've -- you don't trust the war come out those swing and more maybe maybe that's one thought then but the other two guys to swing it pretty hard sometimes it's. It's it's better let them do is keep punching themselves out so you know there were times and I tried to inject myself I was less successful and I probably could then. I could've talked over them which I chose not to do in because that was won by Keller before him not to talk over people. Now we were all want to do that but it didn't kind of play out that way. But you know it's part of you know that the fact of the matter is Democrats beat up Republicans Republicans beat up -- Democrats that's -- a big reason why people looking for a change. -- for an alternative to that so. You know I'd need to pile on Charlie when the governor was beat them up Charlie didn't feel a need to pat me on the back when the governor was patting me on the back Wallace times so. I thought it went well for me I mean I obviously more true army what did you think we kept doing immunity you had to know that we were gonna Q we're we're gonna play a little -- goes all all fall. After all week I expect we are probably always I was I thought it was over the top it was packed nice and and it is. You got to be very annoying after awhile but I noticed strategy is see what is his strategy to -- to keep me alive in note keep me happy. Not to see his strategy I guess from what I'm seeing is not say anything negative about me. But it was tips always -- mails then in other what is failing last week in YouTube probably and if you got the mailing sent a statewide where you probably didn't that it went to Democrats via sent a statewide mailing to all Democrats in the state. Pounding on Charlie not. Both of us making it seem like both Charlie and I was so far to the right. That no good Democrat could ever vote for either one of assault on paper he was criticizing both of -- equally. We both equal time he took shots at both of us made our statements made us look like we it to right of the Teledyne. And then in public. His strategy is to. Patent in the back every chance he gets -- tell what a great talent in order great -- one of the words then he you know I mean you objected to my column saying that he needed you to win but now you're sort of confirming that -- I think he's trying to keep -- That's what they so you think they agree with me that the that they wouldn't that be interesting to have that democratic Doug Rubin agrees with how we Kara and that's the strategy. -- Well but everyone's got a credit beyond what they think why did they think they have to keep you why do you think they think they have to keep -- I don't know you have to ask them but they they obviously assume I will take more votes and Charlie then I'll take from them. Maybe that's a good calculation maybe that's not so good calculation will say -- disaffected Democrats out there who don't feel any more allegiance to the party and I didn't. They haven't chosen to leave yet but they're on the fencing you know the people cross -- line all the time. Democrats tend to do more than Republicans still what they call them Reagan Democrats. And has a lot of Lamotte Daryn you know we'll see how that plays out he may regret the day. He was so nice to me. But we'll say and it's part of the strategy I'm not trying to play the strategy Galen just trying to play it straight. And tell people what I think in what I think they need from government. And it's not a solution and either Charlie or -- is is offering them. -- talk about the government spend too much money and how much you taking from the government. For fear seven and over some hundred -- governments not given me any money the taxpayers voluntarily have contributed to this find which goes too much state Madeleine -- find this matching funds the same money that John McCain took. We took matching funds when he ran for president. The same money everyone took up into Barack Obama opted out of matching funds so volatility in matches what you race so far baker baker and a Patrick Arthur America's they can raise. Hundreds of millions to do a lot tens of millions -- outside of the venues outside party money to do so Dick calculation is they don't need. To do it and they don't want a limit the amount of money they spend if they're willing to limit the amount of money they spent two million and a half dolls I won't take the money. But in order to compete Michigan CR GA. In the DG AO elect corporate money to close in we've we've avail itself this because it's it's our right to do we've raised. A lot of money in small donations. And it's not for anything else is not like they can apply anywhere else this is money that people voluntarily check off on the air. Taxes to give to four matching funds and it's same type of system that the federal government uses and federal candidates use both Republicans and Democrats. Fact the Republicans are the only -- to use Alaska. So now what is your what is your your your under I don't know how well how -- but the 700000 plus figures improved when your under under two million -- in your your yummy -- What are we gonna do your spend a bit faster than you were planning to -- no no -- this is exactly who it was gonna go we knew this money we knew we would qualify for this money. For a while so we we you know got -- at all we've got it all put together we'll have enough money spent right straight to November 2 will be up on TV and radio hopefully on the show. -- good radio ads that the crew on the show that we can with -- radio ads and will compete all the way through we may raise more money between now and then. Any you know all things being equal if we didn't have the party money coming in on the outside money I think we -- about the same money to spend. And will be interest in seeing mean you know will be fine and we that was exactly what we what we thought we would be -- And now we're playing it exactly the way you know we live -- our message to be out the for people that I've nothing against you Tim I realize that I manuals are along with fuel and I I always I always like to go along with the state treasurer because for obvious reasons we're gonna have been a property was coming out this truth so you -- that's funny when one of the reasons I am gonna but it sued but that's another one. But you know again this I just have this bad feeling that you could still -- this race to the ball and and I think that you know people older people going to be appealed to you people was an IPO to Christie I took the -- I took about. I you know what -- I'm in this race to win it's an oath I know I mean this race to win. I've got as much right as anyone -- so this is no coronation until if you know Chris Christie could win with three people in the race. Their Charlie's a good enough Kennedy can win with me in the race without me in the race it's to whoever wants it the most. -- whoever's got the message for the public. So panicked and I do agree that people looking for change and if it comes to enemy Charlie there will be better off we have to take a break do you -- like to endorse Steve Murphy please would you -- Steve -- know before you come -- no no no you you know you're gonna vote for Murphy over -- I might but I'm not gonna do much it's okay you might Richard uncle endorse -- we -- Okay thanks thanks them OK okay. Thanks we come back on how we car this is Judd -- from Joe.
