Cape Wind a Go

One of the issues that spend a transforming issue in Massachusetts is -- win. To build these giant wind turbines -- in Nantucket Sound. And now -- is we're finding out that the energy generated is gonna cost 23 some folks a four times as much. It is what folks are paying now for their energy. And the fact that the local communities are being over ridden in trying to find out what's going on with cape wind in. We're cape wind won't even release. Who there investors are. And when you see the huge government handouts they cape wind is gonna get. Hundreds of millions of dollars in government handouts you say which point this is a bad idea are. Let me just give you an update yesterday our State Supreme Court. Ruled on this that divided Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts ruled yesterday that the state board had the power. To sidestep. Community the opposition. To grant controversial cape wind an agency now the -- controversial they never would have called the controversial before. Cape wind energy project local and state permits it needs to start interest construction. In the waters off the Cape Cod. The long awaited fortitude decision removes the potential obstacles to the wind farm. As its developers prepared to start building a 130. Turbines in Nantucket Sound. With. Cape wind must still win approval from the state department of public utilities. Which is reviewing National Grid that's the big electric company here is every one knows. Agreement to purchase half of though wind farms expensive power. And that ruling was afforded to rolling. In this one person we know good friend the Charlie Manning show -- and and all talk radio that has been following this very closely at. Who will construct. State power plant. For his own personal use out there and predicted the black -- in the Boston Globe let's send it they had a big editorial saying it will be a -- and you know in its future future years that's exactly what John Forbes Kerry reset. In the year 2000. Future generations would consider the Big Dig up bargain. And at this this trend right here. What what the premium that bit rate appears we'll have to pay. Who will be powered up by this if it ever happening god forbid it ever does happen is separate between four point five billion and six billion above. Would -- paying now. For electricity. So this is just step just have boondoggle like I've never seen before. And -- again we can buy. How are green power just like the legislature didn't. I've I've mandate. Just issued guidelines on bio mass bio mass they were gonna be for power plants built in western Massachusetts. It would reviews biomass which is sort of the leftovers of trees and plants and everything to generate electricity and heat. And again in the back rooms. Yeah. Part of the of the Patrick administration. Has put together a plan that -- absolutely kill. Any opportunity to you to do biomass in our state so so that's what's going on in yet. -- pushing this incredible expense. In this Chris you said giving the way. Parts of Nantucket Sound for free to a not not only for freak he's gonna get. How many hundreds of millions of dollars in government subsequently what are.

And -- is when they put the first. First whatever in the in the ocean bad idea. -- in its gonna take. Seven years to build and they -- what they wanna build it in seventeen different stages those sequences all right does seventy years. Pounding away at the ocean bottom. With -- is going in and then and then concrete going on top of that -- When they -- they get at least 300 million dollars in cash up front. Then they get. 70%. Of the rest of the costs to build this thing. In government loan guarantees that you. At the top of the show you are talking about it no one knows he investors. The advantages of the American taxpayers and ratepayers here in Massachusetts. Who have nothing to say about this whatsoever. There -- energy costs are gonna go up four and five times. All in the name Bob allegedly. Clean power and I thought it clean power has never been so dirty hit it in my lifetime. They fly these four million dollar annual rate increase. That next day. --
