And now wanna get back to some more local politics. Everybody knows that our attorney general is Martha Coakley and in she is gonna be running for her second term this fall as. Our State's attorney general. And -- she also is the one who challenged of course Scott Brown for. -- US senate she won that four way I think it was a four way democratic primary. And she. Four way democratic primary and then ran -- ten honorable campaign. In the in the final against Scott brown and Scott was able to be here. Think the final was 5247. Great win for Scott Brown. So anyway mark this up for reelection in. -- a couple of different folks looking at taking Iran and all of them would have done a good job as everybody knows. Because she ran so many nasty negative ads against Scott that a lot of people got turned off. The last time I saw her polling numbers she had a negative of over 50%. Well no one went out and got the signatures. So. Presently. Right now there's no name on the ballot against. Martha Coakley for attorney general to -- drawn into. People to get us a new attorney general that our state so. Definitely needs. Will this good guy from mountain central Massachusetts out in the Worcester area named Jim McKenna said almost nobody else is gonna do it I'm gonna do it. He is so key is trying to get on the ballot with stickers. Two weeks and tomorrow is the primary day here in Massachusetts and they'll be Democrats he can take a Democrat ballot vote -- primary or Republican ballot and vote -- primary. This a lot of tough price there's a lot of interest in primaries going on around the state on both sides of the dial. And died so Jim is asking any one. Who is gonna be voting in the Republican primary. To get one of his stickers. Put it on the ballot for you can just write his name men I think will get women -- on the phone here in a -- you'll be able to fill solid and how it's gonna work. And he if you write his name -- if he can get 101000 people to do that. Boom boom boom will have a candidate against Martha Coakley and a pretty darn good one at that. So this actually two guys trying to do this the other one is guy carbonite -- guy on a couple weeks ago. And so we thought -- have Jim McKenna back on today to -- update aside how is campaigns going and what folks are gonna need to do. Two weeks from tomorrow how you doing Jim.

It's a pleasure so the last time we talked do you -- ticking everything off. In now your candidate for office what's it like.

It is wonderful and the campaign is going. Far better than anyone could possibly expect we ordered 100000 sticker. And we've minister can provoke schools -- have weeks now and we have already distributed to about 70000 --

While -- people been taking them.

I'd just talk through my campaign manager we have 231. Volunteers plus 27 more wedding day. And they're going out to Republicans. To be Intel committees they're going out to you party activists. They're going out to people who are not connected to politics but just want to see this change happen. And they've started the web site and volunteered and acceptance stickers and it is. It is unbelievable at this point.

We're talking did Jim McKenna who's trying to get on the ballot two weeks from tomorrow as the Republican to challenge Martha Coakley. But he's got to do it through a sticker campaign to something that's never been done like this in Massachusetts before but. Now who Bob you said you've been able to get all these volunteers to not help you with your campaign that's great how -- that all working out.

It's basically based on. The web -- people have gone. If nobody got hundreds to web site which is Jim for AG dot com and just Chertoff C. Just bought the culture section and indicated they would like stickers and we get the right out my campaign manager. Is literally -- cage fighter doesn't sleepy just -- cluster. And he -- stickers though. Within hours -- It's the king has sprung up where this campaign which is incredible. And it's just going. Far better than anyone. Could anticipate that this.

So somebody just I texted us from 50 wait instead hopefully agents on FaceBook if it's if so how do we find him. But if you just go on mine included Jim for EG that's the letter a the letter G isn't. Good dot com you'll get right to his website.

We're on FaceBook as well and there are about 4700. Folks or friends on FaceBook. This campaign has benefited from that FaceBook component. I would -- there's a console to spread and that was opened with a couple different campaigns. What do which required that the trustees projected inflation and push toward FaceBook try to reluctantly because. Charlie if not. That's not something folks in our generation -- usually do. But the political effect of FaceBook is huge because there are connections made. Untraceable which of course would never -- and I've gone to places like Clemens. And I've met a half dozen folks who are friends and faced. All we've talked on FaceBook or chicken and FaceBook and we know which or I've been in Norwood or -- or as it was yesterday and they're people they're quite know from FaceBook. Who before this here. There would be no contact so. This is historic and it has never been done before I don't think this could have could have been done with this here.

Well Jim give all my listeners I know with had you won before and we talked about your background but I'm sure there's all kinds of different folks listening today that we're listening that day. Tell us about where you born where you grew up for you went to school about your -- only just give us a quick take on who Jim McKenna Reyes.

Thank you very much I was born in western best. Corporate Lester returned early part of western mass. Went to think just high school that holy cross NPC law and then were the prosecutor. Or ten years three of those in Boston. Where prosecutors organized crime and public corruption with vehicles there. Then it was it was statistics here's a quick -- ranger unit poster for two years. And after. After that time there was in private practice. To a mostly civil work out some old church that as primarily although there was one case which they stayed on. And prosecuted as a special assistant district attorney's. It involved should be replaced Justin pulled. Our reports it was shot in. Holding by some. Awful people and we got to prosecute them have their case yesterday CN. -- won -- those -- until forever. And I'm very proud of them also told WTI for seventeen years in court of law and ethics. And also serve on the board of trustees considered in coach -- Put that in you marry. Marry my wife and I have six kids ranging from eight to seventeen.

Wow you don't mess around eight to 176. Kids all right all right.

It's it's been it's been a lot of fun incorporate them in the campaign there are times when I won't talk to the revoked. How should I say this and talking to fourteen -- sixteen year old about. What exactly we should say in how we should put it and the fact that this campaign is based really on just telling the truth is. Something. Very proud -- and -- kind of very proud of or yesterday we were at an event in Norwood where. The wonderful wonderful folks there had a poll and are brought these. 810 and twelve year old and there's spend most of -- reports first -- dealt cards. Which had instructions on how to write my name and on the ballot and then. Paced interesting report so it's it's all working together beautifully.

I think you're doing this have to live so I -- actually have a two part question first off which you Jordan the other AG didn't fighting -- quality care. There which you also looked into it Massachusetts. Is doing the right way -- forcing people that they don't care.

I think one of the worst things that happened politically and our lifetime was Obama care. Fiasco. And the fact that we did not want this stuff happened and it was done essentially against our will elected Scott Brown. What are absolutely. And if anything we can do whatever joining the lawsuit with the other agencies or otherwise. Stopping this -- going to effect is a positive it's -- Also when your government to actually get a well. Which you also look into this state -- CA I might it was a a couple of weeks go that's generally what the court. Because it without -- public doubts that this girl I have. Then it's like people ports and our people don't want it. It's the government has posted through certain limited things not just. And forcing people under the threat of I guess ultimately criminal prosecution. Or otherwise just forcing people to -- dissuade. That this could be consistent with what. We know the role of government to -- and the fact that we didn't want this program but we were still. Given it by the government would disrespect their wishes to acted arrogantly against us. They've got -- Scott Brown. -- article can we have been willing participant in doing this plus. Everything else well.

the fact that Martha Coakley hasn't joined the lawsuit and has and that the other three G so many other AG's around the country. Have our filing against the federal government saying you cannot force people to buy health care. That's against the law the fact that Martha hasn't just shows where she's coming from could she joins plenty of national lawsuits all the time. HM I've really got to be talking TO is that the north and -- key party -- a couple of weeks back in you know those of us that stare out the area I think we are aren't really Apple's stock currently got its speed but thanks a lot of that. It's not going from twenty issue is important points and nineteen. They made it 200 million dollar error apparently.

Yes she's a liberal Democrat money doesn't mean anything to her when it's the people's moneys -- just spend it. Business woman this five or six Paris press secretaries on the payroll 777. To -- by news center five won't want to do that response being. It's my job. My discretion of staff -- are just as they deem appropriate it's not her job. It's a job -- office she's holding trust. She should not violate that trust should help prosecute public corruption not spending 4141000. Hiring press secretaries. It's not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts. Do you think it's illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts Jim.

Charlie -- is but that is the chief told us what you beliefs. Not also on Beacon Hill to. Entrenched. Politicians say what they believe Martha Coakley does believe that technically it's not illegal be illegal masters. That's where the presents. This telling us which believes. It's illegal. Illegal means illegal and the bad news is our chief law enforcement officer believes that technically it's not illegal -- from Massachusetts that has to change. We can't change -- Martha -- believe we can change who are chief law enforcement officer is. The fact that she ran for most of last year against -- browsers senate. And she doesn't really want to be attorney general anymore. I think we -- what you want.

Right exactly let her -- well she's never really been in private practice so split that would be nice to think a few years in the world the private practice would be good for mark but. Let's go to -- in -- your necks -- Jim McKenna a candidate for attorney general.

Yet Jim Murray you an -- historian Michael Gross wanna which is going after a representative from -- Boston for a violations allegedly killed by a campaign expenditures. I don't remember aggressively your. --

Actually this is just too quick job sort of update on the side of the story in my -- and it's not that she's gone after the guy. The office of campaign finance found some major irregularities. Alleged to -- irregularities in. State representative Brian -- cell Boston's campaign forms. In now they have refer disinformation. To Martha Coakley it's not like Martha got in there and dug around and found some profound you know irregularities. The the office of campaign finance guys found it and they have sent it to Martha to -- have her looking into it so that's what's going on there.

She'll go out and what Belichick would be emails -- the mail. We're Leo I must say that over the next nine weeks and one day which is tie between -- general election I would expect to be something some prosecution public corruption. At least in the papers by Martha Coakley. After -- as you said there's been -- just because. Dario workers and other people on because -- bribes. There workers and putting bright but it closed that was not prosecuted by our attorney general defense had a commitment stopped.

Yeah I'm mark this never really bothered with political corruption and all she's -- you know it just is it interesting tour because. She seemed. We have had attorney generals who have gone after political corruption prod the best. Known that folks who remembers Scott Harshbarger. So -- Scott then tried to run for another office. The Democratic Party establishment refuse to support him. Because he would crack down on political corruption and marked -- saw that Scott you know Scott you know preceded her as both. Middlesex County DA and attorney general and she said. Hey if I wanna run for big job someday Biondi gee I'm just come up. Don't you know I see nothing she would become the sergeant Schultz of the attorney general's office I see nothing I know nothing I he had not think. And that's why the feds have a command. And prosecute political corruption is Jim just said because we had an attorney general who didn't wanna hear about it.

In general have a public -- strike forced -- by have to -- past dozen best prosecutors we can get. Give them up steps and think police officers and let them go let them go after public or should be you know I suspect there's more and we will find.

I've -- number people call for not having pistons politicians. Which is very very good idea in terms of placing the call term limits. If people are trying to stay in office for. More years and perhaps they should just to collect -- pension of just simply wrong they should be their public service we should never forget Edwards. Don't forget that everyone in office is a public service. We don't work for them they -- for us. And that's forgotten far too often.

Yet that -- not Toledo's. Position in who's running for state treasury that. Elected officials shouldn't be allowed to participate in the state pension system that you're elected you're there to represent the people. And obviously if you're a member of the legislature and it comes down to a vote about your pension. Or your governor like Deval Patrick and it comes down to whether you're gonna sign a bill or not to be a day it would affect your pension. You're gonna do what's best for you know most folks would and I think terror -- outside -- about not having. Pensions for elected officials makes great sense.

It makes wonderful I'm very lectures from that what you are part of the -- for -- or. I was I contributed to Witten and the money -- contributed. CA I will say and is not what -- the world. When I left when it contributed.

How come you're so when the tensions mark. Who's your to have one so so you've never had a job when you pay into a little pension system and there is one narrower Florida. You know different levels deal.

But when the attacks come and they will come yup the very rich the more severely attacked our. The better we're doing on their internal -- and every time we're attack. I -- just -- a point of saying. We must be doing pretty well on their poll. Because that I think will be how it works I've never run for office before I've been. -- we've accomplished very partisan bitter campaign this year I was terrorist states and campaign 2000 -- We're just campaign coordinator back in 2002 were just -- campaign. It was one of the most new targeted campaigns that we have seen in the state in the long time I mean I don't think there was some two bit Martha Coakley ran one ad that said. Here's why you should vote for -- It was all just the nasty -- net. Remember the one with us Sarah Palin looking -- she was raising Iran in the slowed it down so she looked like she was giving Hitler saluted. -- one nasty negative ad after another. And some of the mailings they did the one that said that Scott Brown didn't care if women got -- I mean Martha Coakley debt that was about the slimy as bottom of the barrel campaign not seen a long time and just that's why said you know that. You know I I've run a lot of campaigns -- my antenna rap about that stuff and mark from Dorchester. I've never run for office before. And we will be more -- promised that we'll be graphical we even if President Obama does not come back. It is going to be. And when we do that we've changed the debate on illegal immigration. When Jim McKenna. Never -- or do you must -- Nationally -- With the centerpiece of the campaign being. Her position on illegal immigration that changed the state. At least in this state. -- good -- centrist used to be simply -- That shouldn't be abetting the violation of federal law.

Excellent thanks for that -- in fact this year in the legislature is everybody knows they. Have always been able to kill the Jeff Perry amendment they always vote to send it out to committee. In this year when Jeff fought for it during the budget battle Jeff Perry did. It only lost by eight votes it was that close is stated ever calm. So if you can switch for the -- five of those votes now that type of legislation would go through and obviously getting rid of these illegal Sanctuary Cities. Would be something that the legislature I think would do if the -- voters got what the know that they wanna do it this time around. It's good to watch Karen in Braintree you Mexico Charlie Manning.

Now thank you for taking my call I appreciate it and that you know -- I am I'm undecided voter and image a lot of issues as bad as the wind but as our public and abortion as a really important issue for me. I wanna know where you stand on abortion and also some of the issues that are related to it but -- more and he gave back kind of -- a buffer saw it and things like that ironic the very thought there.

They have they have there were very kind in that regard and they have endorsed. One thing I would do and in terms of what can be done constitutionally and into law. There are limits tournament I mean abortion cannot commit illegal. Consistent with current as investors kept. One thing I would do is call for consensus that we don't have now. A consensus of most people beautiful choice or pro life. Really could join -- that being that abortion as birth control is wrong. Not saying actually made it illegal it can't commit -- of the constitution but we don't know have a consensus that a once we get a it's wrong it's not a question of in. Discussing. Or requiring people not having abortions for photographing an abortion it's a question of saying you shouldn't have it because it's wrong. People don't have that same sense now if we can develop a consensus that way. We would not be changing lobby -- reflect we can't change the law many respects but we would be able. To stop abortion and people not go into what. We -- consider wrong.

But of course Martha for instance -- our side issues as the caller said for instance we have the each of consent in our state where we say that if you're young girl and you're under eighteen years old. If you wanna get out in abortion and one of your parents Haston now you know we we wanna make sure that at least one of your parents test to know. Martha Coakley is for. Getting rid of any age. She she you know was supported by all the big pro choice groups nationally when she ran against Scott Brown. Then at least she -- dropping it to sixteen if Stewart or having no age of consent. We June go along with Martha Coakley and drop the age of consent.

Actually -- Children -- children and the reason my children are. Which -- important things. Parents should be involved and have. With in the -- just by year's experience hopefully this year and just to not provide for that. To drop his consent is just I think.
