Palin Shoots down Scott Brown
Fri, 27 Aug 2010|
The rogue-vs-rogue ruckus between GOP superstars Sarah Palin and Scott Brown could be a political boon for the Massachusetts senator, according to pundits who say Palin’s jibe that he’s a bust in conservative Alaska can only burnish his upstart image in the blue Bay State. “Scott Brown is probably doing cartwheels after Palin’s comments - they’re laughable and only bolster his appeal,” said Mike Harrington, a GOP political consultant

What was Your Reaction to Presiden't Obama's Speech in Arizona
Audio
Thu, 13 Jan 2011
When President Obama took the podium at Wednesday night's memorial service in Tucson, Ariz., he was greeted with the unbridled excitement of a college campus embracing their commander in chief. Cheers and screams and hoots continued even after he asked for people to sit down. As he started his eulogy, with the somber words, "To the families of those we've lost," voices still cheered and at least three people shouted out, "We love you!" It was not the way most memorial services usually kick off. What did you think of the audience reaction to Obama's speech last night?

Who should be responsible for Clearing Snow from Sidewalks?
Audio
Wed, 12 Jan 2011
A recent ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court makes it easier for people injured on snow covered walkways to successfully sue those property owners who don’t clear snow from walking surfaces. Winter is here and so are slippery sidewalks, parking lots and walkways. Previously, Massachusetts courts have ruled that a property owner cannot be held liable if someone is injured walking on new or what courts have called “natural” snow. Instead, owners can be held liable if someone walks over the natural snow and then another person falls down while walking on the same area of snow, called “unnatural” snow by the courts.

Chris has and in the opening will played again for you if you haven't heard it but if you haven't heard it where you banned. So I did -- last hour in all of you were calling in in text being and it was really into arresting. Really interesting to hear the different points of view about Scott and about Sarah Palin who on this show we we will -- problem. And does and I saw how we -- said yeah I'm I'm gonna do the ya Scott Brown not Sarah Palin stuff for the first hours two and he came in and I was listening to now I went to meeting and I came out he was still talking about it night. Drove home and -- Turned on the radio in my house when I got home to listen the end of how we show when he was still talking about it. All four hours than people were pumped up to talk about it. And of course it's because -- too attractive -- years. The error -- in fact I got a call what I was driving home from one of the reporters of The Herald and if you haven't seen The Herald today it's great. They've got a great front page. They've got with Sarah Palin and Scott -- Stakes -- and men of little side headline is not Palin's. Shot could boost Scott in blue state. And then when you open it up inside. Of course in perfect herald style. This -- couldn't sit there and Sarah Palin would boxing gloves on. And that got Palin versus brown that tale of the tape. And I've said to Hillary should -- of the one of the heralds great political reporters she called tip what do you think is this really duke got makes it. It's no big deal I mean everybody knows that Massachusetts Republicans are different than Alaska Republican's. That's the shore. And just like. Alabama Democrats are different then Massachusetts Democrats in fact it was a funny story ensures you -- on the Internet if you're hunting around last night. That. The one of the incumbent Democrats in Alabama was having a forum with his Republican opponent. And she said the first vote you're gonna cast is for Nancy Pelosi is speaker. And of course in most parts of the country dad's death and it's certainly death for any candidate now Alabama and -- Alabama democratic candidate I can look at his name for if you once joked. Well may be she'll die before we get back -- next January in the crowd all laughed and everything. But I mean that's what you have to say if you running as a Democrat I didn't help Alabama may be Nancy Pelosi will die. So we weighed the globe has a big front page story about it today -- herald has an on the front page. It's being talked about on all the national news shows the battle between Sarah Pailin and Scott Brown. And of course we all know. That their right on the same page in fact I think the two most important endorsements. That for instance Senator John McCain got in his rousing victory this week in the Republican primary in Arizona against JD Hayward war. Scott Brown was right out there right away endorsing. In Dorsey -- John McCain and Sarah Palin went out there a couple of times a campaign with him and endorsed him. And I think that really helped John McCain inept Republican primary victory. And of course Scott Brown this is this is the time the senate set reefs in dirt in recess. And most of the senators are --
Their homes -- to look torn Beirut through cruiser roll and older -- so -- do you dole you politics. We know what Scott Brown's doing. He's traveling. Over the next week on a campaign.
Teens swings to help raise money for Republican candidates. For instance he was in Chicago yesterday and there is a really tough campaign for the US senate seat. And a mom. It was Obama's senate seat then they put in sort of a coat holder and now the race is going on. And he posted a hit the candidate out there's name is Mark Kirk keys to Republican. And he did to different events yesterday in -- 200000. Dollar helped raise 200000 dollars for this candidate. But Kirk out in Mark Kirk out in Nam. Illinois so instead of instead of you know we'd go to the beach or hang in note or. Whatever anybody does Scott's -- in the next week out there campaigning for candidates and for Republican candidates around the country. So I got a EI really could we got all kinds emails and text messages and everything from yesterday. And one -- this is email I got from DR Tucker if you don't know who DR Tucker is. When you get home tonight. Good to Deval Patrick and remember it's gonna spelled devolved DE VAL Deval Patrick watch all one word dot com. He runs the Deval Patrick watched dot com website and it's a great web site. And DR Tucker wrote I heard your rod discussion that Sarah Palin Scott Brown's hit his wells the discussion the same issue on how we shall. For the wife for me I cannot understand the complaining. From some of the conservatives over senator brown. In my -- senator brown is a godsend. Amid newest distinguished himself as a leader in the senate. I have been satisfied with every single vote but I recognize that he's the man who vote his conscience. I don't think he would have supported the financial reform bill -- true legally to improve things in this country. If you return to the topic today so that's today please ask your listeners who they would prefer to serve in the senate and senator brown stead. Who's the perfect conservative. That would vote a 100%. Their way on every issue. Who's the flawless figure that would be guaranteed. Never to disappoint them. In -- they can't -- such a figure why they giving ground such a hard time. Senator brown is a conservative enough and courageous enough for my tastes. I truly cannot figure out why other conservatives seem to think he's in port tastes. Nice turn of phrase their DR Tucker nice turn of phrase. Anyway. Thought we if you wanted to catch up on that we certainly -- here at the beginning of the show and then will be moving along. Two lots of other news that's breaking across the country including. The latest economic news which is not good at all. The GDP has been downgraded. -- either regionally thought that we had had growth in the second quarter here in our country. At over 2%. And -- downgraded it to while one point 6% they'd said originally was 2.4 percent. And it's one point 6% the first quarterback in Munich January February march when we thought we -- at a turning the corner. Which three point 7% so. It's just not good numbers at all not good numbers at all. Anyway if you wanna talk to a little bit about Scott Brown Sarah Palin I love the ball so you know -- can hear me -- putts. Bad about either one. But I'd love to hear what you think and I know we talked about yesterday you all talked about it on how Ian talked about it with -- Joe patents Joe bats this morning from Fox News. And I think it's been really fun but let's keep it going here let's see we got a couple of text. -- Massachusetts -- in -- is a hoot Palin is a 100% correct. The shoot for if the shoe fits Massachusetts. Where that comes from 603 so. A New Hampshire right who loves Sarah Palin 6170. By the way. I know we shouldn't be talking presidential politics this far out this far out. But if you're gonna vote in Republican primary today let me throw this out there for you fuel gonna promote the Republican primary for president today. In the candidates were let's day. And Sarah Palin. Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney I guess those would be three of the front runners. And if you -- somebody else he certainly can throw the men. Who who do you think you'd vote for who would be cool with let's put it this way. Among the candidates not even who you vote for but among the candidates that are running now that you think you're gonna run Sarah Palin. New king ridge Mitt Romney Tim Pawlenty. I know there's other people talking about it. -- would be the best Republican. To beat President Obama. Who would be the best to take him on in 2012. Would be the strongest candidate. That's interesting that's I'd like it better that way who would be the so it's the strongest candidate. 6172666868. Steve in need -- your first today -- Charlie Manning.
I challenge you to know what I do -- you you. I'm doing okay how I got their disabled Scott Brown com -- an actual bill was not. They decided that traffic -- from the -- had. Started.
To vote for. You mean when Scott voted for it.
Yeah yeah. You're gonna get EM only doubled to whack job Republicans -- just -- power -- few -- in the -- I mean -- volunteered to help. You -- I spent a lot of time on his campaign. I just bill that was stabbed in the back to develop power grab another one of those 2000 page bills. I don't just pop off and I'll always be a comment -- I want a little bit I'm gonna work three times is tied to try to get rid of next time.
Really just done that also if he. If there's if there's been ten major votes in the senate since he went in in February. In he voted the right way nine out of ten times according to what you would you know you believe. And that one bit build a financial reform bill. Was the 11 that you disagreed you'd worked against him -- worked for whatever Democrat ran against him.
We are not part of the Democrat all I'll look for conservative and I'm sure won't pop up. This is what we try to stop I mean -- speed -- would -- an -- I -- I -- In --
You know he even though we voted against Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court in the globe. Went after him. Even though he voted against the latest bailout bill -- 2426. Billion whenever it was that's being given to the teachers. I Andy has the union protesters. Even though he voted against that crazy environmental bill. So that they ran those nasty negative ads against him that environmental groups that were full of lies. In -- have DI do you oil covered pelicans. And they had the people you saw those ads the people on that hard -- support it and got brown. So so you even know he voted the right way all of those times. Just this one vote means -- who worked against them.
Yeah unfortunately I think a little bit quote -- it's what -- economic power grab another big bureaucracy maker -- and this is currently municipal waste LP GE -- supposed to do not do. We supposed to stop big government tickled just a moment government tape or.
Yet okay well do you do you have your point of view Steve and I appreciate it thanks Colin rob written med figure next a child admitting how you do Robert.
Good job earlier today. I want to cast my vote for this but -- Romney but clearly braced of that last car. Another Scott Brown was elected to represent. All of the people of Massachusetts. -- I don't agree with all of its ultra all the time but he got there for everybody that's what conservatives.
Right. -- what you know what's interesting about that finance bill is that. I saw some polling done by very reputable holding firm. For business group here in Massachusetts. So there's a legitimate poll in the asked the people of Massachusetts if they if they agreed with the financial reform bill. And it was not close it was like seventy to thirty in favor. So -- really surprised me I thought it would have been more like 5050. You know like the health care bill is. But people over at least the people here in Massachusetts. I did not wouldn't -- voted for it but at least the people Massachusetts. Supported. That health care bill which is really interesting. I mean that went off financial reform bill.
Well wanting I don't agree with that is that there's good. This allows the FCC from scrutiny from the freedom not of information act and we should never let any. Government. Out power opposition. Outside the law of of being able to be questioned about anything at any time. But I actually support senator Scott comment and not just what that guy like -- of function. The other night at camp Alito and -- and I had the opportunity to get a picture will attempt. And I I just I just I just well that -- definitely eased up there are certain all the people amassed a trip -- so it's. Are having an upset I would like to cast my vote for governor Mitt Romney. Because I believe she would be the strongest concerted to go against Obama care -- know a lot of people don't agree -- key -- from the base state. But you gotta remember there was yelled as the democratic congress that governor Romney had to deal -- When not one not all -- yeah so tick in my car Charlie let me let me get let.
Somebody else on their thanks a call Robert in we're getting some Texas on this and I'm not asking you who you want to be the nominee. We're asking you whom would be the best candidate against President Obama. And we're starting to get some text here Romney -- 617 said -- neat Condi Rice in 2012. 978 says Mitt Romney for sure there isn't anyone else competent enough to stand a chance. And then we just had -- Roberts say -- like Mitt Romney to. Let's go to what Georgian stone Immunex a child admitting how you -- and George.
Great I'm like voter -- Romney he's the only qualified. Person. To represent this country he's a businessman. He's been highly successful. He's -- governor he understands that a mobile around. Within mr. stone. And it's been you know we're actually people don't understand how business -- function have been on my own and 713 years old. Self employed in it's very tough out there right now.
You know that's the scary thing about President Obama is he just never. Worked in business he never you know look we say in the show. He's the leading that once the diner in your town where -- that he goes through breakfast has more executive experience. Running something. And President Obama ever had. Let me just share this with you before we move along. This week the head of Intel which is a big company as we all know. Paul. Hotel old to nail the Putin -- I gave the speech in here's what he said. President the president Obama's policies. Are creating an invite our men and uncertainty. Did this crippling America's economy. The Obama. Administration this fool on boxed by the are experimenting keynesian economics in other words big government spending. Higher taxes and more regulation. Will add an additional one billion dollars to the building of a big semiconductor. Manufacturing. Plant in the United States. Verses overseas. So were you gonna build that if it's gonna cost two billion more here. And then finally he said. Which is so sad when you think about it. That's a result the next big thing will not be invented here jobs will not be created here. In an in -- in inevitable erosion. And shift of wealth much like we're seeing today in Europe is headed this way. This is the bitter truth. That's what the head of Intel's said this week about president Obama's economic policies it's it's just so scary in the one thing we know about natives. He knows business -- he's built up you know.
He's been highly successful yeah -- dobbs he's done the right thing with the state so it's not easy working with a democratic. Society do in Massachusetts. Having to run something years there's greatest there's. Stay here you know -- look at what's out there aren't. You know we're not a bad shape their relationship to the rest of the country.
I know you know our pork industries have really weathered the storm you know you hear. Charlie Baker talked about the court industries you know at the hospital and medical industry. The university poll private and public but mostly -- that. -- they are huge employers say and and create a lot of wealth and economic activity. The financial services industry you know the great companies we have here. -- a friend of mine that works that our State Street told me. Every of every ten dollars it's invested anywhere in the world at least one of those dollars comes through State Street bank. Isn't that an amazing thing when you think about it. And -- employee 151000. People here in Massachusetts fifth did the biggest employer they give the most to charity. And you know we sold those sectors are hanging in there and that's what you know unemployment here is nine. But you know we haven't seen a collapse and any of those sectors yet and that's why it's it's just very yacht. We got to keep our fingers crossed you know.
Exactly -- thank you for your time.
Have a good weekend let's grab one more call before we take a break is that rush. In queasy. -- and crucially.
Good thank you Charlie actually I thank you -- I would actually vote for Mitt Romney. You know right about that he's -- dignified first that he knows what it takes. But -- and I really am the great family -- and wonderful representative Bob Barr. --
Here's a great dad you know you know I know Mitt pretty well and worked with him on his campaigns and stuff and you know I saw those boys when than they were all very little back when he ran against Teddy Kennedy and now you know there -- all grown men in the have. Doron families and have all turned out to be terrific guys switched. I always say is a real credit to the end Romney myself.
You know that it JD Dick Gephardt a well you know good judgment that I -- good judgment. -- Also Tom and secondly if you can at some point down. Addressed how jobs are really created in this country. I don't think economist. Who really know and I study done I was married to an economist in the professor of economics. How I'm actually. I don't think anyone of them really know what paradigm that created. It at some point you can get that sound simple pointers of what it takes to create jobs. Forget -- transfers although all transferred what Obama can I would that you want to get it million dollars. -- Massachusetts. Temporary bandages I mean. Clearly explain how it got back created. Yeah. One of the content that Charlie. When people are going to realize that doctor talks after writing a bad weather I had my. What that go.
Will will you know what the bad thing about it is you know we've got that money from that the latest stimulus package and I was 24 billion and it's going to teachers. You know why the Democrats are sending that money to pay for teachers salaries. Because they were gonna be teachers layoffs. And what are the biggest. Supporters of the Democrats the onions. What are out what are which union spends so much money from their members' dues. Two. Help democratic candidates like Deval Patrick here in Massachusetts the teachers' unions so that teachers unions supporting devolved. They end the other in the -- supporting all the dams running for reelection for congress. And now these people know these teachers will be put back on the payroll. The union will collect your -- And then they'll funneled that money back to paying for these democratic campaigns so it was a whole bowl stadium all the way down. The Democrats couldn't care less. About how many teachers Iran in the classroom how many teachers star in the school. This was a blatant grab for you to create more union dues money in an election year. And so then they -- money would be spun back in spent on the east democratic campaigns.
And also one thing you have streamline your pilot generic than anyone out there will be action bush. Perhaps he wasn't the best heeded the best he could however always remembered his policies. Have to pass democratic congress.
Well in his first part of this term it was Republican congress remember it's it was four years ago that the Democrats grabbed the congress. -- of course we've gone nothing but downhill ever since that's the.
Literally felt you know don't blame on and on some -- and then look what I hire somebody for a cooperation. I don't care what the previous president did or did not do. I hired you because I want just fix something that's occurring right now. Look I could I could do the same thing -- failure not a past present and -- can't unite now he didn't do his job. Well all I can do that we hired you because you're convinced that perhaps that you can run this country of course I did not vote for him I could see right tool and an empty shoot. However you know -- I have no respect for anyone who blame anything on anyone else. It's wrong.
It absolutely is excellent call we really appreciate it okay everybody hang on this is where haven't really fun discussion here in we're asking you what you think about the Sarah Palin. Scott Brown. Her fall fall I get to say that word prefer awful. And also. Not not -- you want for president but who you think would be the best candidate the Republicans -- could have. To be president -- bomber in 2012. And so far lot of folks are saying Mitt Romney and you know -- my -- so. 617666060. It will take a break for the news will be right back here in the Charlie Manning shows stage to.
Back from the Taliban in just 617666068. We're getting some emails from you when lots of text messages. We're talking about of course the -- UN Scott Brown. Face off that it's got actually stayed out of it he hasn't had anything really to say and of course Sarin had her comments on Fox News. Here's email from. Charles will say it's from Charles Charlie from Wakefield. I'm a conservative Republican here's my comment on mrs. PMRS Palin. Sarah Palin is the cotton can India politics. Attractive sweep. Full of hot air into much makes you sick. Thanks -- I don't know I'd love therapy -- you know I thought she won that I know the national media never said it com. But I always thought she won that debate against Joe Biden. I hate Charlie. This is Jim from New Hampshire. Always remember. Mark but Marcia Coakley still receive 46% of the vote the people of Massachusetts still do not deserve any respect. Wait a minute Europe the New Hampshire. And die you voted for Shaheen. Old are you guys would appreciate dean and what couldn't you have to members of congress. What are their names the moon bats of the moon bats I mean hopefully New Hampshire is gonna straighten it out this year. And I'm -- would be surprised if they did in what party assured governor erupt there rod Jim in New Hampshire. Anyway don't brag on us to you knock off some of those moon bats up there and you still stuck with Shaheen for if it's four more years. Charlie always a good show. Eight I believe Scott Brown was elected by the non liberals in the state his financial reform vote was wrong. As for representing all -- Who was Teddy ever representing very good question fill from -- get. John from Needham says Charlie the financial reform package is gonna pass with or without Scott's -- With Scott was able to do an exchange for his vote was to get parts of the bill removed that would have cost mutual fund companies in Massachusetts. Hundreds of millions of dollars in the associated jobs. He smothered the hand grenade I have no problem with the vote but I do have a problem with the Washington process. I'd like that that's John in need him he smothered. The hand grenade smothered the hand grenade. That's a good way to put it. And this far it's our little our poll here we're asking you who would be the best Republican right now. To be said. President Obama in 2012. If you look at the field now and it's you know. Sarah Palin knew keying blue ridge Bobby -- the governor of Louisiana.
There's a whole bunch of folks looking at it and of course Mitt Romney who do you think woods. Who do you think would be the 12. You the best one to be President Obama. But 3617. Says my dream ticket is Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and -- another 617 text says Romney rice 2012. We need to continue to send a message to. That Americans are fed up and we're not gonna take it anymore. 978 says Romney rubio. Marco Rubio is running for the US senate in florid and he is ahead in the latest polls that's a three way fight the incumbent. Governor who's running for the senate Chris Charlie Crist. Decided to drop out of the Republican Party and run as an independent. And then there is the another guy African American the meek running down -- but rubio is ahead. And it says saw Romney rubio. Romney for experience rubio for the young and minority vote rubio is Hispanic. 6172666068. Let's go to mark in Cambridge -- nexus Charlie Manning how you candidate mark.
Good Shelly is you always done a great job as usual thank -- Can I make two point Charlie I'll make some quick. One -- Barack Obama is a fairly well educated guy.
Don't ever think she doesn't know what he's still -- he's done an agenda to take this country down everything he's done. -- I would bet against the US almost you know. And what I wanted to say that like this -- I'm Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich on the ticket.
Who that would be true and what. -- Barack Obama's bullishness and hope that's the -- war.
Yes generally -- of this so let me just say make sense.
But Barack Obama does get -- he's a smart man he's done some kind of let agenda everything he does doesn't make common sense that Charlie.
It's short you know you -- He believes in this you know read distribution of wealth. He wants to on you know people say is he -- socialist. I don't know if he's a socialist but he'd like our country to be like the social list. By European democracy.
On welfare and not well he's told the judge he doesn't do nothing about jobs.
He he absolutely is into -- anything about jobs in fact his policies have been counterproductive. To our.
let it -- well -- in the same thing. No jobs.
That's the shore that's for sure in Massachusetts that's what we're seeing it's --
The people.
I gonna take him out of there.
that's gonna be you know this. Election this November will be like a foreboding. Of what's gonna go on with a bomber in 2012. I do believe. If somehow the people of Massachusetts. Re elect Deval Patrick I think it's a bad sign for our country it.
I hope Charlie Beck has the mandate just tales to -- too much about the unions feel like they unions send my failure to one extent that good but bit. -- people --
Yeah -- you know I'd like the unions that represent the real working guys you know -- The -- top and there is the plumber is the guy -- workers all those guys. But all these government unions that's that's been a bad trend to have every day and -- Italian.
Much money put taxpayer isn't. I think that they should do something about that.
That's the short takes the call mark appreciate it. Let's good adamant April your necks of Charlie Manning.
And try to think they collect call my pleasure I really like Mitt but I think he signed his. National debt -- when he signed -- I think he's done I don't think you're gonna -- In the sell -- anywhere but Massachusetts. If you have him in north northeast. Guy running against. Obama educated Harvard. Who's really get excited about I don't think people coming out the vote. I think Sarah Palin's. I don't think is this serious candidate. I don't know I think Gingrich I don't wanna know what kind of felt like -- have a lot.
Yeah he's got a lot does that -- can cut.
I don't know he does but I bet there are I don't wanna find out a national election. The October before -- this and up.
Oh don't worry you'll find a mile long before then now that's the way campaigns go that's for sure.
I'd like someone new I like the governor because they have executive experience I like Bobby gentle.
Yep Bobby jingle has been so impressive has in the during this whole. Gulf oil spill -- disaster. I mean talk about someone who looks stadium has a steady hand on the -- ship of state he has looked very very strong I like Bobby jingle.
I think he's great I think it's it's administered to not screw this up the next two years is a really good shot.
I met him last year. He came up and did a fund raiser for the Republican Party up here in he was sick. Amy Steele came all the way up and I was taught I went to talk to him before the event and I put up my hand and he said. This awful cold just an awful cold I don't wanna infect you you know it on my thought you know that's really nice of him first of all. And we're talking and he said I gotta -- my voice and he got up and gave a great talk at the event. In near the end he was losing his voice. And then he just stood there and people would come up and say -- and have their picture taken with them. And he couldn't talk anymore he had to do what you blow about his voice. But I know everybody I think most politicians would have said sorry can't make it you know I've got a cold but he lived up to his commitment I really liked that about Bobby Jones yeah.
I agree I think -- seemed to take this job very seriously at some of the opposite impression you get from someone like the ball after. Yup definitely a flit around the country goes -- goes to. Book -- is seeing other places he seemed like is that guy he's working hard he's down there I don't know I don't I don't live there but he seems like. You get design sitting at 1030 --
Well do the what word you hear from the Statehouse. Is that. Governor Patrick doesn't work hard at the job you know he's not in a law. He's heading out early on Friday. As he. Did he not only does he not war card. But win he's they -- doesn't get a lot done you know what I mean I mean the fact that they couldn't work out that gambling bill. And you know hundreds and hundreds of jobs in the balance. And that he couldn't get the speaker in the senate president in in get it worked out before the end of the session I think that's what it tells you a lot about two.
I decent not even sure I agree with the gambling though I don't really agree with not having gambling I do agree that the whole thing. It was embarrassing the way it's sort of fell apart right at -- I I ate that night I went to bed I thought oh this is done. Right because they were so close they were in session but I'm gonna wake up and they're gonna Abbott and I was actually shocked.
In -- And that was really fit the heat on him you know what it wasn't Mike I've grown ups reaction to that it was like a little boy stomping his feet in that's really --
You work the first time the gambling bill bill fell apart and just I think you left the states.
Yet they had the data they use having the vote he was down shopping his book in New York.
Yeah I mean that's. I don't know how to drive going to win again -- that -- people running against them in to bring this stuff up I don't see how you're gonna support is not done.
Well if you if he thinks he didn't work hard in the first term. Imagine if we reelect them.
Welcome back to the -- show let's go right back to your calls Allen Boston you're -- Charlie Manning how you do now.
I'm doing fine draw -- up above it became the globe today and yes it is shaping editorial on the registry waited too long impact should rectify the very lot paragraphs and the inclusion on the system would categorize this under the -- being on the tanked. It's five years ago under another governor and registrar wait time dipped under ten minutes following -- focused well financed effort to improve customer service. Now of course they're talking about Mitt Romney arm. I called -- can also left a message was kind enough to get back to make. There's a guy that should have gonna suggest there have I think they need to really talk some of the constituents and they reader is them. Perhaps non readers arm and a delicious -- and also mentioned the a couple of days ago there was an article on. Property taxes and how they they've gone up -- skyrocketed gives the didn't mention Deval Patrick wants. Now -- explanation on that was the with the business story. And I explained Tor is -- they used both look at this and they -- need -- him in the context of this business story it's also political.
say about the editorially not mentioning -- name.
Well they said that it was there was an intentional but they've thought they didn't need to point that out. I disagreed with them is very personable guy.
I -- earlier I knew when he was a reporter and he was down at their Washington bureau for a long time and in fact when he came back to be the globe editorial page editor. I called thin -- congratulated -- then met him for a beer. And I said -- I hope it's gonna be different in not the same old doctrinaire stuff that we've seen for the globe for thirty years he goes oh yeah I yet it's gonna be all different. And it's been the same night you know no offense to -- he's a good guide died on. You know that the globe just goes a certain way and it's they on the paper they can do that on their editorial page that shore. But I you know I if there's been one and outside the box editorial where I said -- can't believe the globe did dad or -- dad endorsement all went that way. I mean the trash that led the editorial page in the op Ed page ran against Scott Brown in the closing days of that election. Was disgraceful. And -- it is just really nothing new about it and -- you know I was hopeful but. -- you wonder why -- I mean tell me the last time you read a globe editorial we went wild that's different than I thought the globe would have come down.
Well I read an article today by probably -- of I don't know if you press that about the expanding the old days and he did mention something Abacha on other unions the the dictatorship of -- and teachers union just doesn't get it at all. So but pretty reasonable guys falling.
Do you Scott's very good on education matters he really cares he's been a champion of Charter Schools. He's written a lot of good columns about education and and he doesn't back down to the teachers unions at all. But you know what. Debts debts not that and out of the box position anymore you know all right -- people discovered that. The teachers unions the last thing they really care about and and I'm not talk about teachers I think. Teachers do a whole -- with great job I'd love teachers -- talk about the unions the unions built the last thing on their mind is the education -- the kits you now.
Oh yeah well they are easy to point out about so what would professionals through this year on. If they get sure they would should they've spent the next time without getting paid to -- was -- the fact the BTU was saying. All we have to get -- we -- pro -- that haven't like she Jeanne there's a lot of people lucky to have jobs -- the being asked doable let. What are you guys doing is an embarrassment that the satellite same thing with the police department. Like sixteen million dollars then it shouldn't happen and then go that's the best player and analysts fault who run out of this -- the intransigence. Well the mayor at that that's part of his thing but I really would say Charlie might make -- golf might make an interest in -- tip of specially built upon them. Take calls I gave them. Semi serious -- today. He took it in a reusable way and he was very courteous then. I think my side of the story even necessarily agree but it was a pretty good guys so you might not be bad have a.
He is a good guy I guy I've known Peter for a long time and you're exactly right takes the call Al that's a good suggestion -- in the called -- get him on the show. So try to grab one more call before the news here Chris let's go to ray in Wakefield -- you do and they --
Leo. Okay before weigh in on the president all the peck I was a little disappointed I was kind of hoping they can get -- with the would have taken president Janet. That a hostage.
So low light though. You know what that does that tell you the story about what North Korea really is the right just a stalking horse for Communist China or anyone who doesn't say it is that live and in the real world. North Korea wouldn't be there if Communist China didn't want the narrow.
I never his hoping that we -- got to the -- imminent -- of salt when people descended deficits. So I wish you don't control perfect ticket as far as Mercosur would be Romney Gingrich and I'll tell you why. I think either even one -- down. -- would be I think just being on the economy and Gingrich has the parliamentarian. What -- or rug credentials. To deal with international politics in terms of deal with the world's best.
