When President Obama took the podium at Wednesday night's memorial service in Tucson, Ariz., he was greeted with the unbridled excitement of a college campus embracing their commander in chief. Cheers and screams and hoots continued even after he asked for people to sit down. As he started his eulogy, with the somber words, "To the families of those we've lost," voices still cheered and at least three people shouted out, "We love you!" It was not the way most memorial services usually kick off. What did you think of the audience reaction to Obama's speech last night?

A recent ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court makes it easier for people injured on snow covered walkways to successfully sue those property owners who don’t clear snow from walking surfaces. Winter is here and so are slippery sidewalks, parking lots and walkways. Previously, Massachusetts courts have ruled that a property owner cannot be held liable if someone is injured walking on new or what courts have called “natural” snow. Instead, owners can be held liable if someone walks over the natural snow and then another person falls down while walking on the same area of snow, called “unnatural” snow by the courts.

And yeah and talking eight presidents from all over the world attending the -- this straight months funeral. -- any blood -- thought there was very tip there was it was boring box at the same time it was a great honor to do it to just think. Just think for him and -- Nancy and I had signed for -- and that that's old old old old -- and our -- because one. From trinity and in Dublin and you were are -- out orthopedic surgeon. Yeah and god then you moved on to this amazing second -- do you practice medicine anymore.

Only wanna get back to Ireland. It.

And how often you an -- how much do you Heidi split your time these.

I -- and you don't fairly frequently very frequently. I goal because. Understood my brother and sister there were very close so I thought I'd try to keep in touch with. With John and Thomas once they can pull it over here with these two kids brought into Fenway and then sit down before to deny and -- all. I mean you see when you -- salute -- was crazy about both. The stated it well what treatment the whole album because they really really enjoy it.

We're talking to Ronan Tynan who skirted the -- special star next Saturday night August 7 at the salsa a music circus and -- has that. It's a great venue in this is gonna be great shows if you don't have plans for next Saturday night. I'd call the music circus and line -- some tickets it's gonna be just a terrific night. Now wrote in because you saying so much for the Yankees all those years and that. Long blond version we used to joke about and love of god bless America that wonderful one virgin. You were sort of always seen as part of a Yankee organization and and die you know how we Red Sox fans feel about that. And now you're living up here in Boston you go to Red Sox games have you ever -- at Fenway.

Yeah I can't -- reported July -- did the fear of.

Also some of the ice -- and I -- back strong man. You know -- The want to note entirely is that public why can't it just foam which proclaims the greatness of all of this great country. And it's written by a mom who was -- a Baltic country. I'm at the end of the day it's a song that's -- you know portrayed that they've been called all the country. And for what the country at dawn and you know you think the plug -- you realize. It's but the bigger than it sports teams say it. Both giving great credit to a great country.

I used to watch you were of course Yankee -- much bigger or even not. The old Yankee Stadium especially much bigger ballpark then Fenway Park in you'd walk out there for World Series game or big playoff game meant. The fans would all be going crazy in anticipation. And you never seemed nervous and you always seem run tied the -- you would just. Really enjoying the moment to admit and that's that's that that's a gift I think the deal would be cool in a pressure situation like that.

Well you know a lot I mean I don't think there's a finger in the one that doesn't get nervous I really don't I think there is. I think if you don't adrenaline. Pumping and -- mean -- to understand and Johnny you're walking -- in all these great stadiums hallowed grounds. I mean because this tradition and history. And all these stadiums which are quite quite old enough. Total of all of goals of great sportsmen there. He there's number I don't not -- there's overtime when you can never become complacent you have to. Almost be willing to have to be ready to be on edge because PH gives you that that that that -- off of where you going.

We're talking to -- tiny in the great Irish -- you'd like to speak within you give us a call 6172666060. -- number. Or if you're running around in you know time to jump on the phone -- just text us. And this is a new -- Ronan -- on on this Friday afternoon and he'll be at the solves your music circus. A week from tomorrow Saturday. August 7. Now I've been reading all about you in the last couple days to get ready to live chat with you on the phone here and you're saying opera to have a new. And and could you ever see yourself too boring with the major opera company here in America or maybe even doing Broadway sometime doing the a Broadway Show.

don't want to I was offered I was some musical I was offered to do -- a luncheon on Broadway. To do don't kill you unlike apprehensive about doing it because. Simple reason -- done killed even stage for nearly -- quotas so you know when you're making that commitment to people you have to be. You have to be sure that the -- you can do what's. There's no question and then all of a kind of concerned -- out and it'll. And then I guess it's not that I didn't have the ability to think and it was just -- don't wanna. Physical stamina to take the role so -- kind of backed don't want and then. I got up front and to do relative glory in in Detroit. And unfortunately before we run out. So you know I don't I don't. And from the chino prison -- left on. Almost like a child I would not be -- the most. Yeah. Eloquent and moving around -- time I'm a bit. I -- accident but.

I know in in fact you know when I when I think give your voice and how fantastic it is and one of my favorite. Musicals Broadway plays whatever you wanna call it is is -- me is sent. -- great hard to believe dove John what's what's his name you know and right exactly and -- tonight -- you would have the voice for that in a minute but again it's a physical play after.

Round up and everything.

You have to be honest with yourself. I also to the -- just because it's 88 it'll -- if somebody's willing to it so it just torture on I'm pretty good attitude. Do you know being honest and say yeah I can our. But not visit.

And I can't go until I know George for nearly ten years and I mean. George was a man that's. Actually that they -- in pairs and he strolled to -- because. He -- he was among them believe that. He want to show the rest of all of baseball want what they -- and and I suppose when you that you -- that kind of aspiration. -- go to any level. I mean when I first walked out on -- stadium to think back in 2000. If you run you'll bound toward then -- you know I don't doubt it I anytime you want to send. And and we I don't I all of don't play well with them escape demanded. He always demanded that you give your best -- even -- several times if you want to copy what the person who sang the national and the meat -- want to continue going to be good today. You you've been -- sort out of the pocket and everybody told that some along with Russian -- song but another the truth says. One Irving Berlin art is a billion that he was it Eddie was don't wrote this song he wrote the rest -- And a very few people song without reference. And then I decided that in all the salt folk -- deserved to deserved its antipiracy. And -- and because of I suppose people thought it is certainly that -- it is it then there was no longer strong. Then it should have been put in actual fact that was the entire song. And I remember in 2000 and forward took the Yankees were playing and and the twins and -- and we've gotten tired of saying that because of the length of the song and he's in particular got frozen shoulder.

And then he was passionate his passions you know money people have all the stories about him but I don't go along fine with them.

That's wrote in time in who's joining us on the Charlie Manning show on WRKO if you'd like to talk speak with -- road then 6172666860. Will have for a couple more minutes. The reason we have it is August self with us today is that he'll be at the social music circus next Saturday night. Inco half say it right down not. Twenty minutes 25 minutes from downtown Boston are all the area Saturday night no traffic you just -- been plenty of partying. A great place you have a beer there and it's in the ten and so you saw an outside it's just a great way to spend the night and no better way. That to listen to one of the greatest voices in the world grown in time in saying. So run and I started out with a three tenors now you've had your own career yet you wouldn't just three tenors ever gonna get back together.

Yeah absolutely and the planning is actually. I'm actually going to do -- that's what a small sort toward them and stocking actually on the eighteenth. Nineteenth and twentieth. Would -- Portsmouth and Virginia and Xbox. And then I would do is -- Christmas store with some. So when -- alcohol content can look forward to it I won't kept great friends with them and so of those -- you know. There's a lot of anticipation.

Why do you think all of beside me in it's not really all the sudden someone was asking us about the Clancy's before and yeah you know we certainly know and so many wonderful Irish musicians. But I've never seen so many good ones and so many prominent ones. And all of the great bands that come to -- here. Did there's yourself in their say it in now want to -- all -- us. Does his -- listen in just one after another waited all this incredible talent come from what -- the influences.

I think it'll -- in general I mean there's a web of a music and not solution was. And and because whether it thinks this. It's. It's quite incredible and in the sense that there is such a portfolio by responding to -- was famous for full -- and of course we know driving about. You know history and -- at the crisis that we encountered -- won't -- quite percussionist. And our world affairs so will Gordon expressed to bolster is some -- the only iPhone got well. Of music so it's understandable that you kind of get it yes you can you can make music do not mean.

And yet I guess it's it's just the U meeting talent. They don't -- I go all around Boston deceit Celtic music and has seen the saw doctors and of course that -- monitor. I ran to and I you know it's just. It's it's really -- the greatest music in the world is being created right now. We get a bunch of people describe a couple calls here and then we'll let you go somber read on the sell short your -- with Ronan Tynan on Charlie Manning shall.

And then of truly -- you hide charted the best sound like say grandmother. Yeah. A little is that kind of hey I -- I want to ask you how much formal -- did you have in singing and how much does it feel it then is this the third you think if someone has outstanding voice that's so. -- what -- they need to be that I was clear things particularly popular news.

Look at it I'm a firm believer. The no. Looked up the first question I felt at seeing and what forcefully that someone I was particularly. -- so if it's -- And and and I I kind of the very thought I -- at the very not to appoint and because of us. I think the very dangerous thing go to court to condom manufacturers won't take a phone that's not yours.

I was so so thank you very much it's very.

Now we appreciate it and Ronan -- thank you we appreciate you joining us this afternoon. Everyone's gonna head down to the social music circus and -- pass it next Saturday night. August sun and then it's gonna be a great show and have a great night in a great toward both talked to begin soon we hope.
