Why I guess treasury you'd wanna have access to somebody's credit history though would you not before you hire them as an employee I mean you you you talk about the fiscal responsibility of that office.

It it again if it's if it's big jobs that have you know a lot of fiscal responsibility to -- then that would be exempt. Until legislation so we're not talking about everything. But if you're working at a warehouse somewhere. For you working at a restaurant -- should give credit score each out then I mean I don't think he should be off Casey. Tim let's shift gears a little bit to about going to the governor's desk today -- tomorrow a vote to change the way we will elect a president Massachusetts joining another handful of states. And moving to a popular vote. What's Tim K -- view on that.

I like the constitutional way to is. And I believe the Electoral College protect. Small states like Massachusetts. So that we have a voice. And I I would not I've got bill and I think it's big mistake. For -- political way out -- to the big states are California Florida access. A lot going to be those if this past this we actually go to the video states will be competitive golf boy I think. You have nobody gonna bother with a small state like our reserve where we're all right oracle bought the virtually any that they -- I I think it's a big mistake I I can't imagine why they do it's it's almost it reminds me of the -- to. Point the Senate seat first it would take it away from Republicans what they thought they -- little quarter outlook and then -- back. When a Democrat what happened under these. You know under Governor Patrick if the Democrats will be. The popular vote. You know and and get carried out if you don't warmly going to be taking their vote away from after president. I don't agree but I -- the double -- I would side.

It's really trying to undermine it through an organized undermining and end the the argument is that well. We try to lower the overall tax rates they're -- income tax corporate tax rate. Or couple game for everyone. What we don't get into -- bidding war overt jobs with certain companies -- bit. We hit bid against ourselves. It's it's a downward spiral out our respective companies' willingness in inability to try to leopard jobs from each other. But I think the key economic growth here we are cheap to make our state more competitive at the whole. Not just industry specific. I'm curious Tim you know from a position of supporting the governor once upon a time here obviously of established your own candidacy now. Isn't it in into memory of the three plus years of Deval Patrick is governor. Is this some event some decision he made we'd just like looked up and said I you bleeping kidding me. This guy doesn't get the sexy and the damage -- what what's the decision we've just said. This guy he is not the guy endorsed.

Well that this couple of things it wasn't one moment out otherwise what he had which just kind of pushed you over the class but. When we started to. Two -- got credit rating. This was an early sort of inside the ballgame. Battle over other matches turnpike authority they were trying to governments. Administration was trying to get out to take over the turnpike yet or credit rating. So that they could borrow money cheaper -- that would put -- that a rescue we've worked very hard he stick our credit. We're keeping that bond rating up but it because we fought him and make sure that the turnpike authority was then. Part of the State's credit rating. And that's what really started to make me wonder whether he really cared about our economy what that you were serious. About six in the state. Living within our means and doing the right thing -- but what really turned me over the -- was to debate watched you a lot summer during the budget about taxes. The debate in the legislature -- governor's office was which tracks -- race. Gas taxes there effect there was nobody arguing maybe some Republicans -- nobody. Forcefully arguing at the table that we should consider not raising either tax or any tax. And I felt the need to be voice. Speaking out against raising taxes especially whoever that -- and have to -- unemployment rate of and that just frustrated Meehan told me that. The party guys had been part of this wasn't working anymore I wasn't listening. To middle class people. End to their constituents then we had to change directions so that was really the tipping point when the document -- sprang. And culminated last summer into able to raise sales tax.
