As his fire team was withdrawing, Wooldridge heard voices from behind an adjacent wall of a nearby compound. When he went to investigate the voices, Wooldridge found himself face to face with two Taliban fighters, whom he then killed with his weapon. Out of ammunition, Wooldridge crouched to reload his weapon when he saw the barrel of a Taliban machine gun appear from around the corner of the wall. Wooldridge grabbed the barrel and pulled the surprised fighter around the corner with it. The two began fighting hand-to-hand. Realizing his predicament against the 220-pound former football player, the Taliban fighter attempted to pull the pin on a grenade in order to kill them both. Wooldridge used the fighter’s own machine gun to kill him with several blows to the head.

On the same day the Obama campaign revealed the first in a series of political ads devoid of political attacks, Senior Campaign Advisor David Axelrod derided several Romney backers as "contract killers." In a conference call with reporters Monday, Axelrod said the positive spin on the new ads, focusing on Obama's accomplishments rather than reverting to political attacks, doesn't preclude the campaign from reacting when it sees fit. Avi gives his take on this statement, as well as discussing Biden's finances and Willie Horton.

Make -- almost thinking maybe this global warming up. Okay that's. These. -- mentioned about surely Sheridan and I think we should talk about that story now. All of a sudden somebody who has never on this now from -- The expression fifteen minutes of thinking. Is is frequently and sure do lot of people -- a lot more -- Sunday whom most people never again inning but in this case. It -- applicable never heard about this personal until. There was -- an excerpt of her speech. Given at the NAACP. Last march and actually do that -- posted online in people reacted and overreacted. The NAACP. Act whose conference she would have been speaking. And of course the NAACP. Which had launched charges of racism against Tea Party reacted immediately. Without reading the whole speech without interviewing her. Issued a condemnation. Tom Vilsack the secretary of agriculture. React -- and then whatever is people convince her that she should be fired because. Has shell reported she was going to be on Glenn back although she wasn't that night. And the White House also will not obligated to get in although they disavowed any direct connection. Then everyone thought there overreacted because the speech -- an excerpt there were sounded racist. But it was really a story about reconciliation. When everybody said always got to change this and what do they do they start blaming. Fox News. And Andrew bright -- who first posted the the excerpts of the speech. They blame them for the posting. Most pick up the story there. First of all folks. If bush to do your own homework. These are the same people condemned function -- all the time then double issue there's always condemning function so is the Obama administration.
What you condemning them so much. How come you just take the lead without doing hallmark.
Knowing who we all do that sometimes when we do we get it wrong there are consequences and blaming somebody else for not doing your own hallmark. He's not a good response. It didn't work in high school and it should work in real life. As for surely shared over here or point from villain to canonization. She's not military -- I've read this speech now. She's not very bright she's not particularly articulate. Energy shields got a stupid and and and speech is hard to read -- to fall she's not particularly coherent. But here's another quote from later on in the speech. Didn't get posted the beginning. You -- Shirley shards speaking from. You know I haven't seen such a mean spirited people as I've seen lately over this issue of healthcare. Some of the races and we thought was buried didn't it surface. Now we endured eight years of the bush is and we didn't do this stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black president. -- Open minded and post racial reconciliation. And conciliatory. I don't think -- another Jack be sure the grammar here it only makes sense now we endured eight years of abortions. Now it doesn't make sense that the bush is is. BUSHE. Yes. So must -- BUSH. Apostrophe S meaning the -- is gracious because that's the word in the previous sentence. She says some of the racism we thought was buried. Yeah and -- served fresh question mark. Now who endured eight years of abortion is mean the bush is racism. And we didn't do this stuff these Republicans are doing because we have a black president. Well -- ride you she is -- monger. I hate monger who focuses on race. And it's not an excuse that she was wrong. Yeah maybe she shouldn't have been fired for the statements earlier on about -- the white farmer from years ago. That does not entitle her to be nasty and mean and racist. Another thing she said. Making a comment about Fox News. She should Fox News quote. Would love to take us back where black people were looking down. Not looking white folks in the face not being able to compete for jobs out there and be a whole person on quote. Charles Krauthammer commenting on this say. She was a victim but that doesn't entitle her to victimize others and to use these kinds of attack.
Now with regard to Andrew bright part and she -- at one point she never heard of them. Now look at this quote. I think he would like to get a stock back in the times of slavery. That's where I think he would like to see all black people end up again. And I think that's why he's so vicious against a black president you know. He would go after me I don't think it was even the NAACP. Was totally after I think he was after a black president one quote. What's interesting if you never. Heard him surely. Do you know what he's thinking fish usually Anderson Cooper okay do you think you've gotten past black versus white.
I know have daddy pants black versus white he's probably the person who's never again who has of them never attempted to get passage. So he can't see because he's never tried. And because the Kansas. He can't see what I've done to get past that. And he's got him to sit in -- time they get passes. I don't think you then just sit there and stand anyone get past that does that say he would like to get -- that reckon that times the slavery. That's what I think you'd like to see. Black people in -- up again.
I and that was that cordon and by the way continues or quarter. And then if she continues the next sensor is that he by the way gender by park she referred to. And I think that's why he's so vicious -- black president you know he would go after me I don't think it was even in the NAACP. Was totally after. I think he was after a black president. Well I promise you she's not particularly. Articulate and she's talked about a -- she doesn't know. They knew she'd -- is the technique of the people on that side how often we find ourselves not talk about race and what they do. They just -- the charges they don't know any thing. They don't wait to find out the fact she's whining complaining that people didn't find out the facts about her remarks and here she doesn't. Find out the facts about anything she just curls these charges. And so does the N double -- she pay. Talk about a racist organization. That's what the NAACP. Is. Looking into seeing here is that she stands for color dash. Not why. So they want to advance the cause of people who why not why that's a racist objected not. You may argue that well the NAACP to worthy objective. But I tell you if you he had -- N double AWP. We hear lots of complaints wouldn't. There wouldn't be then just a matter of well they just interest in advancing the particular cause. Then they're called white supremacist. And they're ugly and good justification but that doesn't mean the NAACP should get -- So here we have somebody who was really -- racist. That's surely Sharon. Being vindicated by a number of people who would. -- once claimed claim that she has been wrong therefore he's worthy of some kind of redemption. You can argue that she shouldn't have been fired although quite frankly I would say that somebody who harbors these views. Should not be working in the Department of Agriculture. Well argue that once we find out surely -- really years. They're -- firing her. Maybe she was five for the Iraq on ground because you have the story that where she talked about how she she ended up helping the white farmers for -- She wasn't going to because of his skin told Richie got by that one Anderson Cooper ration the question. Did you get by have you gotten by black and white she answers yes. That's wrong. That's almost. Completely caught alive me in the diversion of falls in the line is we're intent. Foreknowledge. -- she hasn't gotten by black and white. She is accusing. -- people of gracious and she doesn't know hope hurling these charges around. And -- to eight years of the bush is racism and we didn't do this stuff. These Republicans are doing because you have a black president.
I suppose maybe at some point it's necessary to point out factually -- sure -- Not sure exactly how she -- both.
We should point out -- get a white prison in doing this. The Republicans with having opposition because it's philosophy that's -- something you can understand. These people -- mongers. And they should be identified as such these are haters he generations they accuse us of being racist because they like to -- charge around rather hefty. After -- are arguments we showed her -- right back. When Ben jealous alien revelation he gets on the air start mouthing -- we would verify Imus a racist. You belong to a racist organization is is jealous. And Shirley -- duration -- And worse than that -- monger. Meaning is bad enough that you'll hold these views but think you try to use race to inflame and discredit and divide. And then mashed -- of the ultimate nerve to masquerade. As you've you've gotten past always hang your just really trying to promote harmony spare us. Six networks invited. Surely sharing on including mine -- now in addition the C -- we did also I didn't expect her to come on but we invite. Six networks invited you on five. Guess which -- she didn't go on. Jingle on fox. She's got her hurling charges not so good at confronting the people that she's hurled charges that. To stand up and see what the response is gonna be. I suppose we can -- cowardice coolest.
Well if -- is the administration's policy to offer another job the administration is failing. Your thoughts are welcome 617 to shake shake 6868. Is the phone number -- you're next on the program good afternoon to you.
Good afternoon -- I have to admit my wife and I have they do a little bit of a tradition to listen if you. Every week and it's I'm that we cherish.
Well your very kind thank you and then thank you watch till. We appreciate.
One omissions. Like Bart said it did it was about the NAACP. And not about that woman. And what the reason she had decades since April the recently released it now was the NAACP. Accused the key parties of racism.
That's correct that you yeah.
But he was talking about excuse me was her. What is the NAACP. Is reaction. Tour are saying those things -- she got to the redemption part.
That's right and if you if you listen to the tape. You'll hear the audience laughing and applauding. And it -- very -- they thought she was going to go on and talk about how she really put it to that white farmer. And they -- probably all taken a back. When the point of the story was that she overcame that and actually helped the white farmer. And became friends whose family you'll probably -- boo at that point but that below we don't have any blowing on the day. But your point is we'll take you right.
They may have -- say that learn. They live for -- on the -- that it.
So you're right so it shows you am glad you brought this shop -- because it shows you. The inherent racism. Of the people who are attending that conference presumably. Members of the NAACP I mean who else would be there right now we are Jewish reporter. -- your right to leave it's exactly correct that these people who masquerade. As being. Conciliatory. And and post racial if you will ensure a charge the rest of us who raised anytime we object to Obama's spending policies. These are the people who really other gracious and that's why actually we we have got to fight back on this. When they stand up and say your racist know you are the racist to you it's time it's time to react and claim the moral high ground. And stop this endless nonsense that we have to -- to go to the back of the bus in time someone says central's the term relations.
Exactly my wife and I talk about that all the time is getting to the point where it's giving tiger so. And I think it is Lucy is does that thing cost.
Well I hope you're right but Alitalia. You know. We've got to be eternally vigilant and we have to be reactive -- we have to be just can't take it anymore. You just can't take these slurs and these outrages. And let them go unchallenged so. You're viewing your wife for doing it. Great I'll he'll be role models for other people on other people listening to this conversational react accordingly.
We're doing good thanks thanks for calling them. --
To shake shake -- TH and she is the phone number yeah Bush's you know it's the latest in the series. Well we've been we've been having some racial stuff and in this administration.
Which sends her defamation suit against enterprise are. I'm -- I really think ashes it. Would you like kids. Site to be shut down that would be a great thing.
maybe they need you inside the White House is supposed to represent the Department of Agriculture food. You're very powerful position now. For several and a -- the nation damn well when Simmons at the attention of the nation particular person like you can do great things. Thank you know you've been doing great things up until now but who who go from here -- great time.
I I don't know -- that -- anchor wise. But that's great sure you disagree with what someone says they shut down the site. Don't think Obama administration DJ not. He'll fit right into the Obama administration thank you did. And square she's -- invited back -- just know she's gonna join yet incidentally that lawsuit. She and her husband sued the department of agriculture and I think got 300000. Dollars. And I must share don't know what the details of that -- you work. But apparently. Suing is not something alien. Two of the shares. Show when she talks about suing -- right -- they would go anywhere at all and I hope that he would strike back and shoe Bert. Countersued her for -- who launching a frivolous lawsuit against it. You know we'll see where gaps. It's just unbelievable that we're -- is -- here and take it well and while this ratio is hurled charges that she doesn't backup talk about legal action. Why don't we take some action against her for these kind you chargers. I think I'm a bottom under -- part consumer for -- saying things like didn't like -- gives back at times of slavery. Official in 76 HH DH HCA your thoughts are welcome Jeff connection on the program good afternoon.
Yeah apparently. -- deductible per charm won on this show brought back yeah it was interesting when you listen to the three apartment fox. Very good part part where it it was -- he had everything. And yet when you heard okay. Get a present it. Later everything was perfectly clear.
And well what do you think that is I mean sometimes you can clean this up you.
That's true well what are saying yes maybe there was a little dirty tricks going on. Maybe they were serving in a group right guard up because he took our he took arm. Acorn and a number of other things and basically comparable prepared spells.
Well except I think he had the whole speech as -- and you know Jeff you're giving in too much credit they're not that good. And -- and if they were that good Jeff then they wouldn't have reacted the wrong way first. Right I mean then double ACP which had the whole tape. Would not -- first come out and condemned and presumably. They would have been formed their buddies in the Obama administration. Not to overreact on this show all right you know.
I've got one other thing I've ever have opened up operation doesn't -- you know air -- Derek. Eric what is very much much US attorney general. The cool. Yeah Eric what food may have helped basically Immelt are used to beat somebody. -- members of the Clinton administration he hired cultural liberalism is a beast. The -- could have a doctor with a Ph.D. -- Clinton was gonna have a discussion on -- social. Have a guy -- hired an effort that is -- in Florida lot of mention a well respected world. But when you -- when you listen to your money beefy guard large number of other pro not a group of programs. He made he made -- our look like a shrink if our troops paratroops.
Well no one of the people it came to the White House since Clinton was Jeremiah Wright remembered who didn't have some conversations with the Reverend Wright about about racism. I'd like you know -- what you're doing here -- as -- showing that the other side. Has been guilty of racism. To a much greater degree are much more obnoxious way and the people on the right the people on the right -- do it. Our disavowed by the but most people on the right the united the neo Nazis in the Ku Klux Klan and anybody who comes up -- We disavow we repudiate that we don't we don't embrace them and NAACP. Is a mainstream organizations far Cheryl writes -- So you know that the difference.

I you do -- a longtime listener around burstein.
Well a special welcome to -- I'm glad you broke in the eyes she turned to call.
Well -- have -- got a -- spoken out if you just in itself but I don't know what I have the speakers that got it dovetails with the with a racist thing that's going around that we just discuss -- it is close to cut discussing. You familiar with a few weeks ago Jesse Jackson pulled up the race card over her out of basketball player leaving town.
Yeah I called the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers I think compared to a slave owner. Yeah most outrageous.
out my my issue with that -- is what -- thing comes up. All that's ever mention. Is that white people own slaves and that it stops there. But it -- historians go further back. They will find that white people did not go to the African shores and run through the jungles with. Butterfly -- sketching slaves. They work. Bound up in -- waiting on the outside their own black Brothers you why why can't we talk about.
so you bring that about -- that absolutely dilute. Anything could do labor.
You know there were received I'm glad you brought this up I have from time to time talked about this and I. A more surprised at the number of people who know that on the liberal side is a lie you're eventually got sometimes raise the issue. The entire continent of Africa. Ran on a slave economy. In fact he did into the twentieth century it people like you there are still elements. Of slavery going on with regard to Africa and there are people live now who were slave owners. It wasn't a matter skin color there were blacks -- black slaves and you're actually right that there are. He has documented history here that blacks sold blacks in the slavery a Turkish on the interest in -- sidebar on this. I remember seeing a program on the History Channel. They did an hour on this and we are very good program. You know History Channel like other channels runs programs over and over again and I shot that time and never shot again. All I contacted. The History Channel and said when he could run that program again that I was told no it's never gonna run again. -- what they don't always that I recorded it. So I have a copy of it and it was a good presentation and they actually showed the physical. Buildings that are still there. That were used as a transport point where blacks were transferred from. The blacks who own the man -- were caught them forgot to the white slave herself. This doesn't justify white slavery but as you put it in a very different perspective. And in that program by the way. -- tour group going some of the more blacks. And some of the -- actually -- tears when they found out that the actual history was very different from what they remembered.
No it will -- you think about. A slave ship as slave ship crew which is probably 1215 men. I didn't get. 50700. Men. Without it without problems and train them all up and say okay it would go get it but get ready sale -- that we picked --
As you say yeah but none of Peabody and consider history -- and we can now and we know -- right he can't you know admittedly. Comfortable.
Yes exactly and you don't when they talk about reparations but. Reparation should never happen. Why stop at the people who dealt in this -- it shouldn't that reparations be paid by those who started it and that would be that the people who sold them to that but this labor.
Well he got the tough case getting money out of them might not Joe -- they what are -- thanks for calling. 6172666060. Is the phone number back on the other side of the brain. I'm on the Nelson's 2 AMC TW RK I.
