A Challenger for Martha?

People have been coming after me and saying. Hey Charlie how come there's no candidate to run against Martha Coakley free G -- Charlie do you know anybody that's gonna run against Martha Coakley three G. And then the signature deadline went by in my friends call called and they said. We have a candidate there's no candidate against Martha Coakley for AG. -- wait wait wait wait -- still way someone can get on the ballot if someone wants to decide a little bit late here. They can still get on the ballot through stickers during the Republican primary. Don't give up yet I know I know there's somebody good out there in fact a couple weeks go I was on OT ER on channel five. And they were talking about no candidate against Martha Coakley and I looked right in the camera and I said. -- US smart lawyer. Would you like to be EG I gave it my best pitch I don't know Jim McKenna we saw that. But we got the great news over the weekend that we have a candidate to run free G. And we have a true riff that candidate to run against Martha Coakley. In his name is Jim McKenna and I would welcome into the Charlie Manning show for his first. Don't have a candidate of it. And they went by human side. -- as to why we're now approaching. Now who was built there by. Then.

All of us remember Martha Coakley and the horrible negative campaign she ran against Scott Brown. Accusing Curt Schilling -- being. A Yankee fan and -- asked why she didn't go out and campaign he -- Meet with people the way Scott Brown was too we all over the state cheats you she told the press what do you expect me to do stand out in the cold and shake people's hands. And then when he came to the issue of illegal immigration into we have that ready Chris. Here's what Martha Coakley said when she was asked about what she was doing about illegal immigration.

Technically it's not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.

Can you play that one more time Chris just in case anybody hasn't heard it before.

Now do you think it should be illegal to be illegal a message to -- in Massachusetts Jim McKenna.

I will be yet. The law is the law if it's an ethical. That's one thing but -- like the law must you respect -- of course the law that the the primary. They -- it but we'll walk I will -- on behalf of Martha Coakley in their favor in that regard. She was he had integrity so what she spent a lot of politician. Career politicians will not tell you what they think Martha -- get. It was not something. That if she had worked for focus groups or. Talk to an important person in the street with it could -- a good idea that -- is -- what you think and that's what she thought. That's good news the bad news is that she won't force officer met through -- we'll leave that technically not illegal be illegal investors.

Well all right how would you be different than Martha Coakley what would you do differently is attorney general with regard to illegal immigration. Then Martha Coakley is doing now.

Respect. First thing I would do would be to. Fight for a lot that would be. Generally similar to that in Arizona. With oh it's difficult. Our political requires or fight that those who respect what may be illegal. -- offices -- it or not to act upon that. That -- protest -- country either difficult without. We are not as badly off hysterical we have a little problem here but it is an emergency food is terrible.

Sure that everybody would agree with that I mean near being over run out there -- there right on the border.

It is literally the wild west so they're now yes or we could do here is. Separate fact and make it a comprehensive approach in which everyone was arraigned in court. Several. Is required to prove their citizenship but we don't just -- it unpleasant or other identification. If you cannot put persistence of well rated court then. There would be proceeding that could result -- the federal government or deportation. That way. It's universally applied -- we applied. Yeah and it's not in the rain in the middle of a night where you're doing with this -- sort of remote highway now the with a transcript. This court to a broad daylight there's no problem that's been. A live in Arizona law and it worked.

That makes all right so that's number one -- makes inside I'll buy that a 100% what else.

To be investigated about that employer and I think that's one place we have to absolutely cracked down. Because it's killing the good guys who -- doing it right. We get calls all the time from carpenters and plumbers and roofers and he enters is a great guy who's you know it's continuing his family's -- you know business that's been around for years and he was telling me that. He doesn't have any work anymore because it coming down the pipe because the guys that hired the illegal immigrants and pay him five bucks an hour under the table. -- get all the jobs.

So that's a good idea especially that Charlie Manning -- mentioned that I think that's a very good idea and then finally what your third.

Mark but doesn't seem to think that political corruption in is something she should be concerned about. We've had indictments. Then try ills and conviction in then people. Like. Senator will percent admitting that she was guilty the other day in federal court. And Martha Coakley hasn't had a neat thing to do with any of this. What would -- do all regarding political corruption if you were fortunate enough to be elected attorney general.

Murder case builder cheated by the he would not not attorney general of the -- them and maybe the most important case. That they have for the political purposes what it does support that out because they're not just of course have -- when signified. That the -- their -- But also written -- public trust. What I would do what you form with received formal public corruption workforce -- AG's office. They're the best prosecute they have for the best prosecutors. And that would put it together and letting them go. Telling them stop it would also point.

Different -- you know fifty is an aggressive attorney general. Who's looking over the air shoulder. It will make a world of difference around the -- we've joked. That that famous picture of Dianne Wilkerson allegedly RI guess we don't even have to say allegedly anymore. To use shoving the money into her abroad is she was being paid off. Did that that restaurant. Martha Coakley probably walks by there every day on the way to the office. And yet she saw enough things she didn't want to know anything didn't have anything to do with a it just isn't a priority for her political corruption because she looked at what happened to Scott Harshbarger let me tell you the background on this champ. Scott Harshbarger -- men. He immediately re opened in you can talk about Scott and he is liberal but he is a straight shooter he. Will not put up with political corruption. He reopened the Billy Bulger 75 State Street investigation. Looked into that. He did a lot of other things and then when he went to run for governor the Democratic Party establishment backed stabbed in the wouldn't help them. Because they thought he had been too aggressive. On the political corruption front that's what happened in Martha looked at that and she said. I'm gonna learn a lesson from Scott Harshbarger I'm I'm on -- it is political corruption I don't wanna see anything what the feds handle that. And you can set a whole new tone -- take our state the whole new direction.

Kelly -- so if I mean if you missed before pretty -- and one of the things I -- Maybe you'll kayaking with a -- Was. Story which has really upset people people are part of the last couple days who were basically involved in this thing. Of all the people in this state to go after. Why would you go -- the garden club. Apparently. -- decided not to collapse but people who are taking bribes but rather quit the garden --

Well one of the Judi says the attorney general is to oversee all charitable organizations. The nonprofit organizations. And right before the election against Scott Brown. Her head of the charitable division. Sid Vicious. Threatening letters. And I guess Martha signed off on the machine didn't it's probably. If she didn't know they were doing -- it's probably a worse. Black mark against her her being attorney general than if she did now. Out to be beautiful little ladies in the boots. Were in the garden clubs around the stage. And mark that sent out these let's say you haven't filed your forms -- the attorney general's office and you could be subject to prosecution. -- my town the garden club ladies of the greed is they maintain. Little flower displays all around town we hear. You know all loved the young gold stars are -- you know that truth you know young men that we lost in wars going back to World War I. They have flowers their fresh flowers all the little islands and different parts of town and they do this all in their spare time they don't get paid for it. They said they have little plant sale every year to support the act. Activities in the garden club did the greatest ladies. And -- Martha Coakley would be sending out -- threatening letters to the members of the garden clubs around Massachusetts. Just tells you that. Nobody's paying attention up there.

It will say that certainly I wasn't working and people should do what he's done legally to work that corporate.

By now. And do you think she really looks into rod the Kennedy family. My guess is not only in -- fact. It was a very interesting story. I believe Martha Coakley was the commencement speaker. That Suffolk University -- Suffolk law school this year while at the same time her office was supposed to be. Investigating. The board at -- because they're supposed to oversee non profits and the compensation paid to with the present in the school. So so. You did Gina how this felt conflicted motorists. Of those certified. He can be on the ballot against Martha Coakley. It's gonna take a huge organizational. Effort. Who really need the folks from every CD in town all around the state. To -- Jim did you get those stickers they had a time to be at the polling places that day. To get them out through the town committees in the state committee to the activists who we know will be voting. -- is gonna be -- a lot of people will be voting you know on that day so it's doable but it's gonna take a real organizational. Effort. And I'm sure will have Jim on as the primary day approaches we'll have been here in the studio to take calls from you. And dies he can explain how all this is gonna work its been done before we've been able to do it before and we should be able to get him on. Even if you're an independent. You can take a sticker in there and put it on the Republican ballot to help get Jim on the ballot so that's terrific stuff. And of course if you're Republicans you definitely can take a Republican ballot and vote for --
