The national scene last Friday was. Hunt with had really now to black Fridays in a row last Friday we got the very bad unemployment numbers from may. Only 41000. Jobs created in the private sector 41000. In the whole country. But today the retail numbers. Came out today -- heard the opening Chris put together they're not good -- all -- the worst in over a year and -- let me let me update -- on on this -- from -- Reuters. -- retail sales plunged in May by the largest amount in eight months as consumers slash spending on everything from cars to clothing. The big drop raises new worries about the durability of the economic recovery. Economic recovery what economic recovery. The Commerce Department said that spending fell one point 2% last month auto sales were down. But there was weakness and a number of areas excluding autos all sales fell one point 1%. The big duck with the big decline cast new doubts on the strength of the economic recovery again they say economic recovery mode -- admit this is an AP story right you know -- he talked about the economic recovery. Consumer Spending accounts for 70% of the total economic activity. Economists are concerned at how soulful start trimming outlays is they continue to be battered by high unemployment in this -- and stock prices. The -- decline in May sales was the largest decline since sales. Since last September of what September 2009. He analysts had been forecasting sales would be weak but would go up but they didn't go up so. The people are doing. What the politicians in Washington should be doing which is being very. Particular in weird they spend their money. There are not rushing out to stores and buying stuff they don't need. They're taking advantage of sales. It is they don't need to go shopping they're not going shopping. If they don't need to jump in the car and take that extra trip they're not jumping in the car and taking extra trip. They understand that were in a great period of uncertainty economically. And I don't think the politicians in Washington get it at all all they're talking about is more spending more government programs more deficit spending. Higher taxes how they gonna --

This guy is fast approaching the -- I thought Jimmy Carter would always beat the worst president in my lifetime by far. You have -- totally ineffective couldn't get the job done. Ronald Reagan crushed him in the final election and you know made us weaker at home made -- weaker in the world just a horrible president. And god they can't keep the shelves stocked in this fanatic and I think of myself something's not right here. And then we see last quarter that only 20000. Jobs in the private sector -- created.

So what -- now in the last month the may 41000. Jobs in the month of may only got 41.

I would -- which is -- in that we -- today retailers down unemployment still nine point seven. So one trick daddy's or somebody's lying and they have getting sick of it because you know all these positive reports about the housing market styling the bull. -- companies are hiring like crazy. And we see these numbers come out of -- the complete opposite and exactly yeah besides going on here there and there -- somebody's lying.

Wolf this the real side in and you can see by these numbers in retail sales to the American people get it. They're not goin' out and spending money they're not going to the stores they're not going to the restaurants they're not buy new cars. -- still sitting on what ever little cash have been able to put away.

Yeah it's like there's a disconnect chided the reality on the street and I'm working blue collar guy NIC what people are doing it what it's saying yup and then there's these reports that keep coming out about the housing market is taking off. And that the companies are hiring again and this and that and in this it is just not a reality in these reports these this this report they've got to win they get their numbers. But now we see what you know the federal government is coming out with the true numbers on oddly retail sales and it's a joke it's going down.

We'll -- and you know the old line right. Figures don't lie but liars figure. I mean just the second sentence of the story you know retail sales plunged in May by the largest despite a peak amount in eight months is consumer slashed spending on everything from cars to clothing okay there is the number -- right. Right then then their spin is. The big drop in sales. Raises new worries about the tour ability of the economic recovery. You know economic recovery.

You know jolly the only guy that called this huge recession correctly was that professor at NYU where my son goes enemies in the name is Roubini. Oh yeah is that doctor -- the -- that that predicted the big Bobble at any was right now he's saying. That we are just about at the very beginning of the second big double dip and now are seeing a few others stop to say that so. And I think we're going to be heading right for the out. And it's gonna be driven by the government spending which is gonna create this probably the dollar is devalued in the -- I'm Italian job I've put my money. Under the mattress at this point because it's coming. Everyone better be prepared -- not believe what this administration is trying to sell us.

Is my father used to say don't waste a dollar now that you look back and we can say I wish I had that dollar an hour. You know jazz -- did not keep it in your wallet.

Ever since the election at 2000 out of -- this country's become so Protestant. That out of that 46%. You've probably got three quarters of those people who -- diehard liberals who will just not. Not yet been won I -- it out there Obama could do anything wrong and so that's why we have kind of -- trust you'll sense you know of these polls because -- that everyone is hardened in that position and just the small minority in the middle. Who can actually see things for what they got. And I hate to say it but even you know we have that on the right as well the last.

Yeah but even when bush was and is somebody it's set at certain times. Do you approve of the job President Bush is doing Mike when he was trying to do amnesty for illegal immigrants. I would've said no I don't a -- I disapproved of the job he's doing and I'm conservative view down.

Yeah I think that efforts jolly is that this is the only president that has a 100% media backing. And that's what's propping him up with these numbers you gotta remember I you know half of this country's watching American -- every night not paying attention to what else is going on. And you know they getting this or bad thing middle bombers still you know the best thing ever happened in this country and so his numbers -- artificially high. You give them another year he'll be out of 4139. And I think that's restates.

And Obama suck ups in the media. Were accusing Drudge of being racist Gephardt has yet because he was trying to make. -- he was trying to make Obama look like an angry black.

Well they're going after Matt Drudge now the way they go after Fox News and O'Reilly they don't want any other opinions and voices out the other them what they can control. Matt Drudge has never and his history had to retract the story.
