Let's get in this Arizona immigration lobby just they have cracked down it was signed -- Friday there was a protest do you see the violence. The pro emigre pro illegal immigration people hit the streets and up and when the cops try to restore order they started pelting the cops with objects.
Yup -- more than us you gonna get -- precisely isn't crazy emotions -- very very strong here.
Thousands turned out to protest the State's tough new immigration and was selling its long Friday night Arizona it.
You can maybe the only game in the -- People all of political news.
I think news maybe talk about the oldest and with the civil rights movement that was already supplement. Anyway how do you feel about the Arizona immigration -- basically gives cops the expectation. That if there are suspicious of the legality. Of anyone they -- contact with that they should check. This runs it contrary to all the policies we've been pursuing in this country designed to encourage as many illegal immigrants -- come in and stay as possible the magic.
Words here with regard to police. Authority to stop anybody is -- not -- appealable reason to. Not enough and it's old car it's obvious there illegals and I suspect that the assistant DA's. Out Arizona the world who over the group. You know whether the prosecutors. It it just hadn't occurred to people to think the rocks might be harmful to the cops because we know that it's only people on the right. Who are abusive and mean spirited endangers.
Exactly yeah I get pregnant -- whole immigration thing. The first what is do Brothers CEO makeup if it did this hiring illegal in jail so that bright and guided chicken diet beyond -- private joke for about thirty days I know what that happens they'll be they'll never hire an illegal yet but still no wanna go to dale again.
That's really good idea if you put Mike Tyson in jail. All those chicken workers down in Arizona and wherever who Wyoming -- them that process sister and my great idea run -- it's 6172666860. -- your next atomic talkin' crazy than usual on my desk -- two days.
But all deeply change is that you let the people what they want it. That particular community -- be up all but lost.
They are quiet.
They may actually bought out. Waitress doormat the country after bear around Baghdad without.
Al mullah are they by the start I don't know why we keep it.
the kind of people they Akeelah and where it's. He's got the police say well they all want our help but. Gordon helped them come rip it's illegal aliens committing the crime that they want -- illegal aliens -- out there we editors don't pick I'd you know.
It's amazing that we let it get to this point you cannot give any leeway to Democrats there's so malicious in in what they do. And what they've done is created this expectation now. That you should be treating people on the country illegally like there are legal and you're somehow mean spirited hateful if you don't.
You know this spring break there's. Barack creek can hit it all right I -- the dumbest guys did -- but there's no jet black or Hispanic if they are see out the perpetrate.
And Hispanics are warning to return. Not knowing they were everywhere and military we forget about the poll.
See the reality is that Hispanics or caucasians are they not. So when why or why would you ever differentiate them except that Democrats. Thrive on. Dividing by bi racial account to do so if there isn't one deals they make one up.
You look at the S census and half Hispanic white Hispanic non by an army it it it it makes your eyes glaze over how silly would become. In and that --
Are you amazed that just called in on this topic how does I'm not ignore pretty Jeff you're America hey Jeff what's going on yeah.
Good morning tell it exactly what bank also got to do was pick away perpetrated meaning. -- magnets and -- recruit and I think the reason why don't wanna come yet doubt you down the street from where I live I think coach you know to this system that go on Oprah we're sort. What they -- kind of people waiting to be picked up by a pickup truck. We have to arrest them and Eric well I'm not too sure about we have to arrest the people hire these people. And don't give these people any shelter any job any money once that happens then we take we attract.
Where yeah I think I do think there is a piece of what is going on and.
need a bigger trend don't wanna I wanna be like wait a creation -- with a job and they won't come leave and leave yeah. The -- to almost go back and try to put our country and one other topic. -- There's bigger you guys -- it shouldn't get restaurant yeah I did so. Now there's no job searching agent because we -- what I bought the network washing dishes is that I -- washed dishes anymore our kids are learning net because we have professional. People who would make a living all -- especially drums and most of them why are illegal. -- different -- can't go the other but the Democrats want that because it makes more people come onto the system the last people would have jobs and -- apple work for a living.
Sorry Jeff. Thank you sir Geoff thanks for the call -- your in the restaurant business for a long time since and you have a greater understanding this and I would certainly. Do you agree with -- statement that most of the people who are doing dish washing kitchen work out illegal. Well I've been out of business.
Her fifteen years or so but. They may sell my observations have exceptional. If so let let's let's pretend for a minute that you and I are running out the bureau of a well regatta -- yup. How would we go about protecting ourselves legally. So that that person who comes in this is actually harder -- of you know based on my experience which is dated. Five people come in they give you a name they give your Social Security number it's of phony Social Security number but you put it down on the I nine form you can submit it with your paperwork. And you've got -- there on file and you know we did them the government hasn't given us the tools required him because again the Democrats don't want to shut off the flow of people coming in illegally they want some here they want them to be able to work.
It would seem it would seem to me to be a national imperative that some type the system being set up so that. Employers who wanna do the right thing can do it'd be protected in the employers who gonna cheat you trim the way Jeff for suggesting as has happened certainly in the restaurant business. -- quickly caught -- quickly cut I recall. I think any number of occasions we have -- no employment papers from I've been here for a couple of years now. I think I had to fill out some type performance provide other things now I -- but I don't like thirty a question of citizenship but the fact is I wasn't troubled.
Hi I'm not clear now I don't think you actually submit that paperwork -- when you just putting your files in case an inspector were to comment. But the inspectors never -- command Tito you're NW RQ good morning. --
How are you today we do great good morning plus if people neglect that they you know you give people these what -- Democrats talk about that does not. This -- but what but what what brought this to a head was the -- Richard. Governor hours off just -- what happened and what happened was the truck -- Because you're trying to fight illegal illegal immigrants -- to come across -- the coyotes. So I it cabaret kind of -- ahead inspiration and play itself out shop and talk promote the so much Belmont. -- like the 1960s all -- this does not -- must bear Paulson and the federal government. Take action where was needed for many years and mistakes -- just -- like it still to do -- cradle law another it would Forsett. -- and I think this is actually a good thing because gonna force the federal government. To actually take an action weathered the worst good or bad I don't know -- you.
I don't know going to be a big political fight it's not about policy as usual it's about political grandstanding. So Republicans will try to crackdown is -- doing in Arizona. Democrats will use it. As part of their long term plan to get Hispanics on their side because the Hispanic population is growing they plan on getting more people into the country is as best they can -- of a million to two million a year come in illegally. And they'll get them registered to vote that's their goal.
We won't bring freedom walker.
freedom ride home. Again that's good black and allow people to be -- which probably made unilaterally. Make golf makes us. We call good call well there's.
See what an exciting opportunity this is for the bad guys they can go back to the last time they had a moral policy which is 1964. And they keep going to the to the emotional -- of that moment since then. They've been trying to pour out the country to their own political needs and it's reaching critical mass they feel that they would that they are on the cusp of victory. In terms -- realigning in the country to be. Minority white so that day they can find people who vote for them.
It's it's it's it is so by the -- what health reform is about there are so many interesting things here I think -- ages did does not seem to me to be any dispute from the political left Todd. That. Let's say the hospitals. The schools. The social service agencies of Arizona and a few other states. Have been overwhelmed. Literally overwhelmed. By the effects of illegal a run enforced immigration overwhelmed and then on top of that he have the dynamic of protest groups going out -- and making demands that out just unsustainable in an unreasonable. So off times accompanied by violence the murder of the ranch which show one of our -- suggested. All these things come together they create a moment of political moment in which the governor of Arizona not an unreasonable person by the things separate about a set looked. We've waited and waited my predecessor waited -- issue courses help out of the administration. And nothing's been -- Arizona has to take control this because the federal government has punted the ball.
To DC Tom Brady's new house by the way I did not 20000 square feet. How is he any abide. By what are their planning an addition. In Southern California. It's a beautiful thing we'll break it down at some point show it's sabotage good morning Monday highs in the fifties rain today it's six AB WRKO. And I think of people there children are they're tired of media violence flood of illegal immigrants in our state.
But all of throwing rocks -- not get that -- with the right wing of the party people who for the violent -- I mean again -- community we have -- the people who hire these people. And to give these people every shelter for any job any money once that happens. Certainly -- the attraction away.
A radio station where there is much history and heritage has goes straight -- served. There's a good Boston. So the average home in America is so little over 2000 square feet 2300. Doctor Tom Brady's new on this 20000. So so movie okay but nine times please tune after so it seems to me he's under building. Because he makes a lot more than nine times the average salary. -- we all you -- does no question about at the end as he and his wife makes money that's.
Imagine that -- association rebuilding another 200 cut 20000 square foot house for her but she probably is planning so well she told us last -- lots of babies. You know it's funny how you deal of space where they've got it they've got to that this did you can tell they like to be in shape they have a rec room. They pull house they swimming pool which is round. So -- you have to be a sealed to do laps there while the six current or we -- McCarty around can I ask a question. Beach house -- bath house -- policy you've mentioned a couple of other things garage does that come to this we have footage of the home -- notables. Who LO GG IA. I don't know what must be one of those what do they call -- alumni Poland nine -- maybe it's kind of go and I it looks like it's kind of an entrance way that's got to see the -- is there are on the front of the house. -- The -- I mean that's like a porch while that's the house. It's nice to know how and a you could move the that is -- what -- you could move the legislature there could mean what is you -- a couple legislators that and what role these big things improving here are these going to be some lights. Holes and holes in a move all their war that's a work out that section of the house's own. Yeah you're looking at the -- a room in the weight room to separate their -- module also there are some natural some -- probably either latter they wanna be able to jump up and down through the roof trust is available us on the -- 20000 square feet that's do you think there should be a limit. Now but let's Lou looks talk about that coming up in a few minutes because first we have to get into this -- of the -- the legislation on curbing Wall Street. And find out if it's a good thing or not bill lewd act charges the next congressman from the six congressional district up in the north shore build good morning.
Our good morning the white -- you guys don't wanna do -- do you. I'm terrific lady think -- operating calpers he is being rebuilt and but what is upright while.
I know there I am a gas -- Although he used -- of William money -- the I would think so -- tell us about this legislation -- the big fight in Washington right now and they're Republicans have been resisting a measure that looks like eventually they're gonna fold and and vote for anyway so why are they getting all this bad press why do that.
Well I think this is a general idea is that this is just another attempt by the federal government to seize control over another sector of the economy. Well I -- that the Republicans that are fighting it in general. Yeah our entire a lot of regulation that it imposes restrictions then and prevent business from operating. Unfettered from the federal government maybe that's what motivated.
RY I understand the desire to not wanna have it pass it doesn't appear there's assists successful strategy for blocking it. Because there's so much disdain for Wall Street amongst voters.
Now while I mean that it becomes a political football as opposed to looking at the reality of what the bill was going to try to do so.
As you look at that reality billion do would you vote far read our rom. Would you be an opponent of this and in either way tell us why what do what has captured your attention in the bill.
Well I think what I what I would be an -- opposed to it because of the way that it gives the federal government the beat discretion to jump in and grab a financial institution and break it apart. Seemingly without going Duke's -- real. He had deep seated debate and in an investigation of the financial structure what it basically does is create. Several different new institution that allows. I Treasury Secretary Geithner for example. For our read them that are described in the ability pretty much any reason you want that if -- feel -- that. And institution appears to be -- breaker of near bankruptcy. That you could go wherever he has the authority choose say we're going to grab this can restructure break apart.
Yeah I didn't like -- Geneva in the measure says they can identify firms that would pose a threat to the financial security of the United States -- same kind of material financial distress. And then go in and pick them apart. Herbert occur but language like this is always relatively subjective you wanna have whoever whomever the regulators. To have some authority. Here in Massachusetts bill you know live it for example the insurance commission commissioner of insurance. Our commissioner of banking. Can go Winamp if they examine you know tell the Tom -- insurance company and we don't have adequate reserves so we have lousy ridiculous investments are banks similar situation. That you command and closes down in order to protect either. In the insurance covering the case of the ensure woods or in the bank the case of the them -- of the bodies of these deposited us. And -- language to I think would be seen as -- cherry potentially capricious but. It's you know it's not that would become. Accustomed to it in -- to what I think most people say had that has you have to have that -- regulatory scheme.
We have a when you institutionalized the Kuwait if this does when you put a fifty billion dollar bond to write their army. On the front end which is designed to start paying job. A lot of people veteran bobbled it I think what you're doing is creating an inherently unstable. Situation when it comes down to how these three lead that company is supposed to -- them. You know what what it what you have to remember is that the whole impetus behind this bill was the bailout that occurred as a result of the whole sub prime mortgage crisis -- You know and and there's really nothing in the bill that addresses that in fact what it does instead. Is it got thereafter. Institution in some ways that work Americans say immune from math and that actually god did not cost. You know cause the problems that that we had last.
They -- can now responsibly than others just I you know I've -- commentary that we have been Tim points out the FAA you to do anything with Fannie and Freddie and other factors that drove some of the a crisis of -- fall. Does is right -- risk. I'm sorry go go have. It is there any risk that this actually incentivized as bad behavior you know how they do studies that whenever you. Passes Siebel -- or people start wearing the seat belts they start driving faster to compensate. Because they feel they're safer and then you throw an airbag and they drive even faster is there that element in this bill where once your designated. As it too big to fail financial institution that's kind of like okay now -- pretty -- because we know will be protected by the government.
Well I think it's got it exactly do that I think we're just gonna do it does it actually decrease. Competition out there in the marketplace because those big firms are going to be able to advertise the market. All of our investors and and customers and everybody else but hey you know we're a company that's got over fifty billion and -- that were part of this government backed bailout it's almost like being able to say. You know we are insured by the federal government against failure so go ahead give us the best that. You know and and they will then be able to continue doing some of the risky activities that that they might have little battle --
But if the legislation empowers the radio -- chores to take over the banks and basically break them up destroy them. While keeping their elements alive doesn't have provided disincentive to be reckless.
What it does but but remember this doesn't really feel so much with bank says it does quote financial institutions. You know the fact -- already highly over regulated lots of other different different ways with different than what steps. Legislation this is targeting is is other institutions like your your insurance help.
like he had -- like AIG for example bill.
Yeah a lot of companies like that that are not necessarily back acted -- it does do some things. To separate out but responsibility. Between the FBI think -- the Federal Reserve and others. And creates new agencies summer which will be responsible for certain back activity but most of this bill. Is is really earmarked for not -- institute.
So how are changed this legislation so it would protect us who from what happened two years ago with the meltdown of the financial industry. And make it into something you feel comfortable.
Well the very first thing I would do it does include provision did -- to reverse. We probably got -- into that problem in the first place I mean remember the whole idea of these sub prime loan. We're changes to the community reinvestment act to encourage people who could not afford homes to get them and it had the government backing. And guaranteeing. Virtually every single lot of and there are about palpable -- here. I backed the one needle and when those things happened about point seven million -- sub par. And all of them were inherently weak high risk in the first place for -- third of them were held or guaranteed by the government or. You know Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. What that it would that encourage people to take a lot of rich and I think you should reverse that number one. Number do I think the other a better approach would be there when you have. Institutions that are in danger of failing financially what we should have our people. And entities that have expertise to that we I would created special I mean I do a lot of bankruptcy law. And I would create a special section of the bankruptcy code. And I would use that can handle the failures or potential failures of major financial institutions. Instead of giving. You know creating all these new autonomous federal agencies to step in that don't really -- a bit what he can deal. And and that would allow. Not all that would allow our input from all different factors you would have the bankruptcy judges overseeing. And having constant hearings between. The financial institutions that are in trouble the creditors that are having a problem everybody else why would you those two things. Those two I think would be do more than anything else in order to conceal the crisis with the trying to deal with it.
All right bill -- Jack thanks Reagan and downforce candidate for congress up on the north shore. Our Richard dole talked CN soon. It's on the you know the the problem is is such mistrust of government right now. That he we know we need regulation. We don't trust the process of creating this legislation we just went through the thing with the health care bill we see how. They throw things into their own personal benefits not for the best interest of the legislation and there's there's a sense that. This is gonna give power that we can't trust the government to have.
Hey I mean it it's you know one of the topics it's become controversial was this fifty billion dollar off kind of reserve fund. That would be off the books and set aside but I think it's pretty obvious what the purpose of that this notwithstanding all the distrust the purpose would be if there's a fiscal emergency. A financial emergency of an important financial institution out. You don't wanna have to wait for congress to do an appropriation debit your idea to move quick fifty million is seeing it it really. That's not enough money to make an impact -- it it would be enough to create what do we -- trillion. Who would be enough to create the bridge until congress can -- tossup we'd like bridges -- we like it there's I don't even if they go.
