It's gonna be really fun. And so you -- Arizona this weekend what was going on your campaigning for Senator McCain.

will he resist you know that the only one aside from governor Romney to open up their doors and nationally and I called him after my election -- Yemeni media please give me a call and so it's some time an aspect about -- it was a lot of -- it to go to where. -- Arizona -- or game a lot of Mexican -- met some wonderful people and news good to get to. Spent a lot of time with with somebody that I have great respect for.

Sorry about BC by the way they made it through a few rounds in the ACC tournament but they they just couldn't make it a little bit further that they had a great season those were two pretty good upsets at the end of the year.

would have allowed for a crowd support payroll tax reduction. For for people would result in five to 600 dollars. Per person thousand dollars a couple over a six month period implemented within sixty days -- in the balance of the stimulus money that hadn't been allocated are earmarked there's there's basically what I consider the slush fund. For them to use forever in this would have put money back immediately into people's pockets.

So you -- the other senators about your bill I know how you work -- going -- button hole and everyone and say -- I filed the bill I think he can work. What's is -- what's different from down there to your time in the state senate up here you obviously a personal relationships with. Most of the folks here how's it different down there.

Well it's the same wave -- bigger buildings larger numbers I had to. Make a presentation I was able to get obviously Senator Kerry and and bunch of folks. It on board for a for the Democrats so it was a good first step. That is the first time in quite a long time that they've had any bipartisan support for Republican measure. So there's all -- Slavery era speak to the majority minority leaders regularly. Actually majority of the Christian majority just -- the a couple of his books. -- In doing it where a new offices and just literally moved in today into the read on Susan just sitting here meeting folks from Massachusetts and throughout the state in the and in the country trying to. Get ready for appropriations. Bills that are coming up and also there's there's another jobs build its forthcoming.

Umps got -- now that you've got your office all set up one of the -- Senator Kennedy was really known for was constituent services. Folks could call in when they had a problem with the government they could get some help on -- You're already now with folks wanna email you or call your office. A are you ready to be there because let's face it that's not anything that Senator Kerry has really been known for a over the years.

We've been doing it already since we've gotten here from day one party and addressed obviously dealing. The game situation trying to interest by the word that -- that was the first -- actually did. And and we we do passport and other issues. Have since they want. I'm in transition doesn't -- the people's problems and transitions so we do reason emulator are state. Senate office per cent candy in where they've retained a couple of folks from his staff to. That we are very impressed with it and were working 24 -- on the weekends -- name -- some -- well so.

Let's talk about a few issues quickly that seemed to be coming up. LA times story last week you may not seen it I know you've been traveling on Obama looking to give new life to immigration reform. It's back you know it's the same old star fits not well we will pay a fine that we can't force people back in. The president thinks this is the time to do this. Obama wants to Bob may be addressed this before the -- next elections this year. Do you see any stomach for this type love in this the immigration reform.

I think the president needs to focus on jobs and job creation job our retention and doing everything but. And we've made it very clear publicly vote here in Washington and errors on them back and watched in the people are hurting -- jobs. They don't want you know healthcare bill it's gonna hurt. Businesses masters they don't want to give amnesty to people that are here illegally in the men and of people transco legally. They've French. So. And hopefully he'll start to focus and that's very important issue very shortly.

Well I have got a headline talking about jobs here. Jobs bill close in the final passage. This is the fifteen billion dollar jobs build that you passed in the Senate I'm originally the house wanted it to be 85 billion. You were able to carve out an agreement to get it down to fifteen billion -- figure you've already saved me seventy billion dollars -- thank you very much.

Right and that -- so it was a it was a perfect I would have -- or -- cutting it it's -- as reported have to go from 87 billion. That's going to be down to fifteen billion visit it's the first thing was as impressed by -- the majority leader actually said you know let's cut it. This is getting too much pork in and special interest attached. And what I did as a -- which called cloture that means that shuts off all debate. Moves forward. And I felt that if we continue on with. Commitments that would have been back -- seven and so voted with the majority party and that moved forward and as they try to do the same thing in fact his comeback. They come back into our area. You know basically -- voice over. So -- that both forward and we're just analyzing and now I'm gonna continue for other bills. So called just bills that they don't have any way to pay for them and I'm very very concerned about the data controls spending in baton. -- can have a lot of great programs a lot of what we tried to do in the Senate. Last week is to is to use the yen. -- stimulus monies. And mr. just adding to the deficit so and a lot of that the of the programs and proposals in this new one. The one we just signed weapon when -- right now it doesn't have a funding source. And -- yesterday I'm not gonna continue to support bills that don't have funding sources.

Well that makes sense isn't the rule supposed to be a go if you don't have the money to pay for something you've got to find it somewhere else.

despite a loophole and say it's an emergency in and do some you know political maneuvering to get it through anyway but bottom line this week extra line in the sand and start to pay for these things. And this isn't political rhetoric I'm telling and analyze everything and there's just a lot of a lot of waste here a lot of think they can do better.

Well we we've talked about it during the campaign that I called for fruit a freeze and that wages and federal hires. And it being the the stimulus bill is certainly created a lot of you know good coverage has been very few private sector -- trickling down. The average you know small businessperson. And as -- have and we have not created one new net jobs. Last 53000 messages it's. Since the inception of these stimulus bill -- and millions throughout the country. And we should be directing these monies to immediately open I felt the payroll tax reduction for the end users money. As a way to jolt the economy is everything else's. Is really network like should.

Well aren't -- Obama I thought about senator brown for the work and thank you tried to be in local in -- it'll have less and but our -- it in a campaign on -- on the dollar estate from taxes spur spending. I'm gonna look snowball from there what you like what we did in Massachusetts to do it on a national level and we did eight. Not that we all -- feel taxes are our state run if we get the job. If people just didn't pay payroll taxes. Four to a three -- now this 300 million Americans as I couldn't plus million people so you know around that are working in these. BP's stimulus -- there in the trillion dollars in. Now with my calculator -- it you know the average person making it you know even less than 50000 calls we get paid taxes. The -- three weeks into something that we -- We can't wait to -- we could sell.

We -- enough words instead of having the government spend the money. Give the money to regular folks in let them make their own decisions and how did stimulus con -- right on it what do you think Scott.

Well that's what what other things I did it take calls for a payroll tax reduction would only be for about six months to that the balance. Obama listens to instantly -- call. And have across the board tax cuts. Any amount that's going to be more money into individuals pockets and they're able. Yes David spends is invested to do it better certainly I think from the state and federal governments.

How we -- you always senator David. I'm not sure whether I heard it correctly but it was open and you'll -- and that's something to do. I would you'll look. You'd said that. If Obama would try. Terrorists. In a military court. You would go along with closing Guantanamo did I hear that correctly or incorrectly. I heard it correctly could you elaborate on that.

And that's actually senator Lindsey Graham is is making proposals that with the governor. No I cannot say that was not privy to those meetings or conversations. But I am I am I am hopeful and in. But they will try -- salmon and others -- enemy combatants and not -- taxpayer expense -- thousand dollar our New York attorney that's for sure. It seems it's the when -- make their quota the other day. You know idea reiterated that to him. And I'm hopeful and it seems like they -- change in the -- little bit with regard to -- listen I've always said. That we need to continuously review the classification of the facility. End of the individuals and there but in the middle of what's been happening with the Christmas bomber and a lot of the other attempts where we're gonna put up. We're gonna put them in in on US oil and ultimately give them more rights or we gonna review the classifications ultimately -- and -- to process them accordingly. So I'm in. Certainly hope someday that Clinton opposes that. Right now I don't think it is the proper time I don't want it politicized issue I want it to be based on on non factor in the -- he urged citizens.

Well I think the White House has gotten the message on that for mural lecture and and what they're seeing all around the country I think that Eric Holder plan is gonna be thrown out the next couple days and doubt at least would be a step forward wouldn't it.

You get this finally it's certainly there's this one this situation right.

I guess I had some severe the other day. I don't know actually sustain. Same. Group that runs museums science Museum of Fine Arts in Boston actually the four purveyor of in provider of food there. Just a regular that there are certainly sister actually just -- Great cast -- they have all the buffets I need.
