I think the big message was Scott spent almost his entire campaign when he wasn't talking about foreign policy talk about jobs and spending jobs and permanent jobs and spending. And I think it's exactly what from the -- to -- Schroeder's. Then I think they're really worried about there economic future and -- worry devote federal spending gonna meet with regard to how they're gonna pay port now they're gonna be expected to pay for. And I think that metric really resonated with voters big time.

What is it that that Democrats have done wrong if you could not look back and analyze so both on the state level and national level we seem -- Have I misjudged their mandate.

Well I think yeah the big issue here. Did you think about it most families right most businesses have been tighten their belts up to two years. Then when they look at the federal government militaristic government -- in the same belt tightening going -- at all like they think there's two subdural farewell tour wolf for a public sector and another federal. For everybody else penchant for everybody else and the bills. I think it's great film after awhile that they're being expected to -- further. The public sector can spend without the same discipline that they have to -- underlies everything will -- and people should you know what I don't after the.

Jolly even the go to guy and read the Republican party for a long time now -- we got to ideas. Principles and ideas if Scott Brown calls within the next couple of days as to what you think he should focus on Donald Washington. What would you recommend them.

Oh I think you can't focus from a deficit I think that have to be. Great job number one I think you should be gathering up every single good idea that's out there about what to do about federal government and has. There and you know Tom there are many many many ideas out there about what to do about spending in the public sector the big issue is whether or -- you have that. The political will on the political smarts to figure again.

What are the things it seems to me we've learned through the Scott Brown campaign and the Barack Obama campaign is that. You can get people to go along with a lot of things if you educate voters a little bit that. Well in terms of policy and what's actually going on our government. There's this that this curtain up that the blinds us from knowing if you share some information you can push people and a new direction do you see that possibility.

Yeah I think in many ways the best example of that time would be the fact that they shut down all the public conversations about health care reform. Okay I heard over and over again from people -- there are campaigning myself just regular people so I can't believe this you know there's no this is the biggest issue them. Then it you know domestic policy in there and twenty years and my health care matters a lot to me and I'm not allowed to know what the nature of the conversations as a -- of course the studio -- and -- Nebraska north Louisiana. And then the final deal which was -- state employees send federal employees don't have the credit Cadillac -- everybody else is expected to -- I think that's -- really resonated with people are very negative way.

In other words -- it there are. There is a sense among those in power that they get to do whatever they wanted it's their power and this is really what I think Scott. Capitalized on is he made it clear. Did he viewed his job in Washington to be our voice while Marcia Coakley was making it very clear she thought it was the job of the power structure. To -- carry her into this seat. Very different. -- looks very different results based on. The two candidates in the positions they -- how can Republicans turn this into more than it's great that we've got Scott in the Senate. We're gonna you in the governor's seat next year -- later this year. How do we expand on that because I see an opportunity. With you and with Scott it would build back up in the sixth district to a two make somethin' bigger happened for Republicans in the state.

Well I think there are already a bunch of pretty solid candidate through decided to jump into -- rep and senate and congressional races are you gonna depend mostly on these pictures around job and spending. And I think one of the think's gonna -- Specter will do a whole bunch of other people. You know small businesses both small business people folks from local board of -- stuff like that. Are gonna look at this from -- gonna say hmm they're if you can ruin their race maybe I can win baby actually -- still have I think we're actually. A bunch of really good. Regular local people jump into a bunch of these reference limiting congressional records and they'll be real candidates are you gonna be talking about the same stuff. Voters want people to be talking about more straight switches what do you do about getting people back to work and we have police stop spending. My money like give you my money instead like -- pure mud.

Oh my money that we order that we don't have they're really going to learn that taken out loans on our behalf Charlie -- lesser Republican candidate for governor. -- jolly well around this issue of the spending end in the deficit.

It seems to me this early a collision that happens inevitably -- that's true whether you're gonna speak to at a Scott off -- maybe John Kerry beginning to speak to it. To provide -- stimulus you gonna have to add to the deficit unless and this is maybe we. You can give us a little bit more clarity. Unless it's accompanied by a very aggressive. Budget cutting exercise so you can free up billions and billions of dollars in additional stimulus.
