More think you're worried are you guys doing today and we.

I doin' great Steve this is your first entry into the political arena. As a candidate you've been involved before supporting different candidates over the years and -- but this is. Your first time his principal give this year ride commission said some of the the what what what did battle like.

Yeah it's been a wonderful experience I get to travel Allstate. We're still doing that word a big but our state today. And met wonderful people eroded just reinforced my belief in Massachusetts and and the country has been it's just been fantastic.

And if the way in if and when you elected and then sworn in as the United States senate. Steve value go what are you gonna focus on yourself from what would you direct -- staff to focus on what's job one. From Steve -- value this perspective. As -- next US senator.

Well I think you just senate -- want this job. I we have 320000 people unemployed in Massachusetts and and that's unacceptable. And we've had fifteen million in the United States so. We've really got to have a government policy that says in the short term you know it's just out of recession but really builds long term jobs and we start that right here in Massachusetts.

How do we do -- the report who would -- you do is our new US senator.

But first thing I'd do it is is try to get we have hundred billion that the president should strive for more if that's part of the stimulus. And I -- get that directed into really specific job programs and job training. Built infrastructure. So for example there's a big all the ground you're our universe yeah that was going to be a three billion dollar -- site is complex. Battle Creek -- was just -- job shall go away and they treat people people helping and serving eventual construction everything else. So real specifically. We wanna get projects like that going to create long term jobs and have our tradition short term -- you have to take. But this state in the country will prosper and and and go forward if we can build those jobs of the future clean tech green tech. -- sciences. That assertion that those -- the areas where the where it just won't go away.

Steve will bounce around a little bit because I'm sure that happens in every candidates' night indeed the debates a warrant I have watched. You know the EMC's the moderate as well love well will bounce around -- let's talk a little bit about foreign -- as the president blouse week addressed. Yeah I have I have actually I just think it's what we really have to just say is there at least they think five or not there we completed our mission. Pakistani -- issue that -- that has a 180 million people have guessed it has twenty million people. Most of most these terrorists Serbs are are gonna it is gone and nuclear weapons right. About that -- sixty nuclear weapons so so we're really have to developing strategy to work with all the countries in the region and work with China and Russia. And the global multilateral coalition. To get Pakistan has stabilized because that's going to be a real threat that's where a lot of tertiary and that and that's what valid art that right now.

Stevie just mentioned to our -- in trying to chatter in making sure that they are involved in some type of strategic Coke. Coherent and coordinated response. And yet we don't see that type of cooperation with Iran Iran continues to make very very bellicose sounds. And it is going to be a ratcheting up the approach they should be a ratchet approach. If the discussions don't go anywhere and I believe they're discussing it at any discussions -- this year if they don't go anywhere so far they don't they don't seem to be going anywhere. I -- have to go to the next level the next level is a multilateral you know coalition -- try to squeeze Iran. And the -- squeezed harder and harder all the way down to the potential -- well what I call crippling sanctions. Are we better get the world united crippling sanctions if Iran just posting this type of threat.

When we put a threat so let me play the -- question if if if rusher in China and thus they've shown no inclination to join us in the ratcheting up. Well the acceleration of more vigorous diplomacy a -- on this one. If they continue to play that game. What. Yeah it almost everybody as a candidate for president you know couple -- several months back. I started talking about our own nuclear options to go in and do. -- you know the unthinkable but it becomes thinkable when he have a regime like this what Steve value percent of that.

Yeah I think it is unthinkable the hypothetical. I'm confident that Russia and China are not gonna want they can have nuclear. Situation in the Middle East that we will get them up for. And we don't get the mom or are we still have all the other countries the world get -- I think those countries united the first. Can do enough. Economically to Jamaica -- it is not finished their people. The problem the -- and they have very good people but a very. Corrupt regime. A regime that this is totalitarian. And I feel sorry for the people around -- they have that machine. We've got to deal thirteen got to squeeze the regime and get all the other countries involved I think China and Russia will get out -- because of it of the day. Nuclear any kind of nuclear situation and -- destabilize the entire world.

Steve let me bring it back home a little bit you know you've been campaigning now you started. In early September -- mid September. And now the elections December 8 through Tom and I think would agree that it's a relatively short sprint has campaigns go. Did you take it all boat doing any TV advertising at all radio advertise here. -- I'm kidding because yeah I I think I told you you're ever present and it's an impressive book. Marriage anybody who doesn't -- was who -- career is either doesn't like the Celtics -- hasn't turned on TV or radio the past. Several much but on a serious note. You know top touched upon this and elected -- in a little bit what specifically have you learned a bold government government or a boat politics are both campaigning. Not in Massachusetts centric per say but just the ball the whole business that he didn't know voted. You know six months ago when you were a businessmen and in the as successful -- the Celtics as I've watched your revolutionary you know. Oh as a candidate in and you know some of the early debates and that I actually had the pleasure monitor moderating and AFL CIO debate. Not continue to watch -- you've really come a long way as a candidate in my opinion. In X disposing your views and choice on your personality I think that's a healthy thing but. What specifically did you not know both that you your you know vote now and wish you'd known about six months ago.

Well I -- I've been involved a lot of elections you know you know helping judge Jerry -- elected president then and debt. This seated pretty -- the first closeup you don't get into. I'm obviously in a week gracious -- a couple -- you're fighting one. I had done ten years or 25 years -- I think to get my views up there and at each other voter shall I was so. I had to do that had a big commitment to do that and I think ever really separation on -- try to. They refugee issues what what what about alert beyond that I we're beyond that that. Yeah we really have to have an -- that the civil discourse this country and hear what's right for the country and it's tough to do in shall -- If you'd have to do it debates. -- if I had to do to get that bad really push for. More debates in debates focused on issues we should have hole of a debate on jobs that I will really bring back jobs here. I've got down to graduate five years building job since that I love to talk about that richter scale over our the other three candidates. We should add another debate just on health care so here's the critical issues facing the country. I believe we have to pass universal health care as part of a moral issue but also to get everybody into the boat so we can begin the process. Of changing incentives to reduce those costs you put myself care cost that country. In the world.

So I got I got chosen tomorrow Steve what I'm hearing is that you'd be amenable to doing. Any issue specific debate so and a multitude those with either Jack Robinson not Scott Brown whether it's on our KL lost some baba. Some other form you know warrant and I spent a little bit of time and I really -- lives in politics as well and as you talk about. Issues specific and our two on healthcare and our run two on jobs we -- here in the studio people -- is a win nodding I heads in complete agreement. Did it get your way from the sound -- Forces you on the other candidates to be more specific more elaborate. It gives the moderator chance to say hey wait a minute -- you got to play and fast and loose with that idea give us more detail so I think everybody would be better -- with that.

Yeah I really what the -- kind of approach. Because you you really can't put the entire 2.4. Trillion dollar health care expenditures that system into the sound -- And you guys you're great servers by having a program like this where you you can talk about it for more than one minute. And -- I think we put that in the process to be fantastic for the process. But but the process it is what it is and they are prepared to hear that basis and and I'm proud that I've got the message out there are what we have to do our jobs so we have to do what held here. And and an embargo the -- building I think growing at a candidate and the message it is becoming clear. This fortune building in -- or other state it's been fantastic and hopefully hopefully tomorrow that support will build and then --

The polls are open I think stay white seven to 8 PM. An interest in question -- is not necessarily how you've done in the polls I think it's -- it's gonna determine who wins tomorrow. It's really how well you do in your forces do -- getting your vote out you know how you drag people to the polls that are Steve value to support us tomorrow. How are you planning to do that you've identified at this point you're identifying I'm sure right up -- this evening. Your support is you know other than having -- you and your family and your friends and supporters drag people low -- get them all there.

Well yet about their first we read notified them that we're using the phones we've built the impressive field organization. And regular edition will be out there helping people to get out the vote. And the the -- of jobs is really resonated so I'm hoping will come out of this is an historic election for an incredible seat to replace Ted Kennedy. -- helping people really feel the importance of that this report from Massachusetts in the country you know we've always been a leader in this country I wanna continue to be a leader. I'm I'm really focused out on the set up to that -- so much global international experience and experience that I could bring to the Senate.
