Talking a lot of presidential politics joining us to clear it all -- one of my favorite political reporters in town for my money probably the best political reporter in town. From the Boston Herald and quickly becoming a a regular on our Saturday -- Jessica -- sack.
It happened and are heaping praise the Atlanta got him on my goodness I'm such -- many years. I I'm I'm I'm I'm a little -- right now I'm a little -- a little pissed off that you frankly because you promised me drinks and we haven't done around the and I'm telling note below it.
That's right that's right -- at all my friends and family will attest the people are my friends get the most flak -- but you gotta you gotta help me out here's what we'll see if we we you can get you know off my. Off my dad let's tell me how in God's name. Is Mitt Romney one of the two front runners right now he makes mistake after mistake after mistake. And the only climbs the polls now what in Florida he looks like he's one of the fur on his right.
Indeed it definitely. -- and purposes the man ray largely considered it -- great art right now. And at Q how he got terrible he certainly has defied the conventional went down that you. What's really threatened by a lot in Iowa and your answer defective that this guy. It -- guys I I infrastructure and have a great organization I think that that. Is one of the main reason he'd been out and -- if you look at the organization right now -- It accurately hunted down there are political observers a lot of the most value he has the best organization in on ninety.
Right but I -- at what I was gonna say there but Idaho who know lobbyists if you ask him. Right everybody right now that's another matter entirely learned that last week we're talking right now which Jessica Vance -- From the Boston Herald brilliant political reporter if you have questions for her about. Mitt Romney and how in God's name this man. Who says straight into the camera that he doesn't have any obvious even though he has has just if Hansack wrote. Many lobbyists working farm if you want to talk about Mitt Romney puts out about what's happening on the democratic side -- talk about who you're voting for give us call 617. 2666868 toll free 877469. 4322 I'm John Gonzales Jessica I got to know honestly this guy I've met -- I can get off this. Here is he's on on Mark thinking decently this week we have every week is a new thing that he screws up last week. We had him arguing with AP reporter glen Johnson flat out saying that he doesn't have lobbyists working for his campaign when are running his campaign because of course he's a fan of semantics and everybody knows he has. Lobbyists at that at the four of his campaign this week he says straight into the camera when asked about how much money he's contributing that he doesn't care about what the voters think. And then on Martin Luther King Day. He starts singing who let the dogs out. And looks at a young child and says oh you got some bowling bowling -- I understand they don't have communications director is Eric first of drunk what's happening is nobody talking to him. I'm sure -- nobody in this guy's -- saying hey. Stop talking.
Well cute you know it'll our political junkies and -- day in and day out. We may have a different perspective and the voters who are they watching me debate where. But not art -- Romney has performed. Fairly well I mean you not -- you. Declared the winner basically right after it ended I do our sorrow and you're -- an ad and Honda now. I would say that while you know you might be looking at these things is very significant -- Yeah strange -- comment I know that happen now apparently -- being the common --
Who anywhere which absolutely astounds me I mean I everybody knows that I don't you know on an eighty -- a I don't know anything about anything about what I do now. Is -- Romney is one of this I mean he's good you're right he's good buddies on his talking points when he's got a piece of paper in front of them can follow a script. But he is not good when he strays from the choreography that is been laid out in front of him he's he's really not good when they challenged him. The record before we get some cause you can -- and talked to some calls that's right. Okay before we do that Tony what's happening in South Carolina at last check. With Barack Obama who has been screaming over and over and over again that the clintons are after him on the race issue and I thought was kind of ridiculous Payton he might be onto something because he is. His approval rating among white voters -- to 10% and yet he's still going to carry South Carolina.
You know it's been saying while -- carried -- Carol I mean I don't look back could be. You can't circled that you would like fourteen point I don't clinical. Yes exactly so I guess you never know what might happen today but I don't that you read about people pat Buchanan editorial about how the Clinton. Definitely exploit the race car and gender card over the past couple weeks. In subtle ways a lot of people might not know that the -- active toward and that part of -- to what you're saying they had -- Hell out there who could Barack Obama you know for a number of being Philippine I think it came in it and answered yeah yeah went without and a court immediately you know resigned -- hand the you know. The -- scene you know they're they're they're good.
Yeah you cannot mess with the Clinton machine I personally cannot figure out cannot make heads or tails either on the Republican side -- the democratic side. What the hell was going on in this presidential campaign luckily we're here talking which Jessica -- sack. The wonderful and talented reporter political reporter from the Boston Herald I'm John DOS senior writer from Boston magazine give -- call talk about politics excellent seven. 2666868 toll free 8774694322 bill in Boston your own -- own just --
I don't like just I thought I I can't believe that you attack in -- you don't say -- saw record clip o'clock o'clock I would save button. Did an excellent job when he was in Massachusetts against the odds of the democratic. It was a wild birds CNBC wood which is get rid of bureaucratic got government. It's the other way he -- got rid of the -- and I -- quality but there's no way to get rid of that below the state income tax to what we hope it's. What about 5%. -- five point eight but the democratic legislate -- behind them only the guy and I'm -- got -- should be shot.
Easy easy easy easy we don't. We don't want anybody gets shot your bill let me just bring you back on Tyler I lost bill that's and I think the senses had enough they'll still. For you wouldn't -- and the people who support around I'm I'm for supporting whatever candidate you want to support. And and did their army do some good things here in Massachusetts yes I'll stipulate that point here's what I cannot abide by and it just drives me insane the man will say anything to anybody. That they want to hear in order to get elected the pandering hash this out and I know that that is part and parcel of being a politician I get back. But it drives me nuts and and Jessica I don't understand. I really don't understand how especially people here in Massachusetts who are so familiar with Mitt Romney just dismiss that. Art I -- I just don't understand how people dismissed. The Mitt Romney looking -- camera when he's in Iowa and take the capital pledge and then go immediately over to Michigan and talk about -- gonna return jobs to Michigan in the car industry in those two things are directly at --
Right right well you okay I'm thinking -- caller -- have been extinct pointed to other. Rob you'll wind and sound data it's obviously because he had a supporter in the act and it was called. But I'm I'm surprised that all the things you mentioned you mentioned health care. You know what to another it is -- in the players say it was something it. That was running -- on the campaign trail initially and now they're trying to trumpet. Out you know it sort of good management the -- that you think -- It it does seem like a bad that a lot like to let up -- label. Saddam has been attacked in the outskirts and.
Which isn't saying which isn't saying I cannot believe the people -- them off the hook for all the times he has changed his positions on serious issues legal immigration. On stem cell research which is wife could benefit from one on any on any kind number of categories gay rights there's so many things. -- in box for your -- John Gonzales and I just advance sacked from the Boston Herald.
They -- taking my call the I just fortunately I don't have a dog in this. Plot because of its stances I can think I'm going to vote for him sort going to take gum. Ticket to task for saying that before because he does have doubled from art it sure that something along with making over 200 million dollars.
I -- Bob listen I'm not saying in the guy's not a break I'm saying it was okay are putting out during lunch statement yeah and in you know what usable when the guy stands there on Martin Luther King Day. Among a bunch of African Americans and starts singing who let the dogs are Bob sorry got a call to guide the food when he says. Bowling playing on the scene than when he when he its challenge by AP reporter glen Johnson about whether or not yet as. Lobbyists running his campaign and then tries to wiggle out of that was semantics when he stands there and says I saw my dad marched with Martin Luther King. And any goes back and says well you know we'll look at the definition of salt on -- here come on.
Lobbyists working with in this campaign running it and -- keep implying that if something wrong white. Why -- complying -- of the Bob we're aware that I -- act -- you're allocating write her in the months. You know I just to -- block those I'm only I'm only half white so I guess in your equation island only eat half -- well.
thanks for the car I'm not sure does not listen I also want to know if you've got if you if you want to support Mitt Romney okay fine. Call and tell me has not disagree with you but there's so many other candidates out there. But I can't I cannot abide by the idea of voting for this guy who will just tell you anything you want to hear he's he's -- I mean more duplicitous. -- most politicians from almost any politician and I've come across and I just don't get. Jessica the nobody's picked up on us.
Right well it can -- it has become more focused over the last couple weeks. On the economy and I think that back to the lottery then. That it had even made that got her labeled -- critic like outlet to you know -- acting and I think -- a lot you at his handlers and his. Usually they're crystallized that Washington must change its broke it yeah all in now.
Maybe he should stick with ambassador talking with Jessica -- political reporter from the Boston Herald I'm John Gonzales. Senior writer from Boston magazine don's guns -- what every like give us call 6172666860 -- 68. 87746943 point two is toll free -- on the sell -- on John Gonzales and just -- sack.
I don't guys good deal I don't argue I've just started Britain so what I was secure because it properties bought. And at Kennedy at the -- was campaign and think logical. And came up at me and in -- speak to me in an Italian. I -- Italian are acting out of my front retaliated up and it just -- age girl what these people are all about. I open the politicians especially somewhat bit army -- raised in these army. Private protective circle and they don't care about it and I think good. -- dealing with. People and so circles. And I think that was pretty evident well -- it was in that oh with with you know those largely black game and he was -- sing and act like -- a bowl. That's basically we years as a person the fact that he's -- the president is because he's worked all this money and again. -- DD people that put in place it out from a lot.
Thanks for the call we appreciate that Jessica.
You know it I am surprised personally bat that bit tired bullying moment. Did not receive more attention and I got I mean I did it cholera yeah.
as I think it's almost at the point now where like I said every -- it's almost every week now we're he'd done something else to put his foot in his mouth. LA you know in New Hampshire was him looking into the camera and saying well you know in my ads when he was talking to Arizona Senator John McCain in my adds I didn't say that your plan was amnesty well. You're right you technically didn't say -- but the narrator sent it. I mean it's just it's just absurd it's destroys me not built in Woburn your your last caller before we take a break your arm just of Hansack from -- in Gaza.
They guide you -- that gut despite I enjoy your show very much and I find it interesting is clear previous caller talked about that Rodney just that it you know my position. The guy remind me of one of the -- in -- are open to polish. He like you were thinking that he that he he tailored to comment to the crowd Blaine -- entry is lingering around his friends all the time.
is pocketed tag tag that some nice playing well.
The other thing that I by imagining how people attack to be copies -- successful businessman. That automatically transition -- he's going to be successful in running the the economics of the country. One is for profit felt that the film went the other -- for the people including the port that if you noted that doesn't have a lot of -- for so I decided. So are increasingly offensive that they tried to -- it was that the such a successful businessman apparently he's going to be a very successful manager of the country's second.
Thanks for the call bill yet Jessica you know I get that he's a good businessman. But her I don't know that that necessarily translates to being a good commander in chief of good a good president I don't I don't know but that gets you beams.
Well what I can tell you that the economy eyes the number you issue for Floridians. And among believed it covered in there overwhelmingly permit -- I can't tell you -- about it but I can you about the way it obviously that is sticking.
While -- yet another reason why I don't plan on going to Florida anytime soon. Jessica band sacked from the Boston Herald if you guys haven't been reading her you absolutely should -- must must political reading. In the herald almost every day and Jessica thanks again for joining us -- and and you'll be back right you'll come back with -- us. Army I love to hear that -- Garnett on the -- on the total lot to see you better bring some money with it. I just how appreciated art. So got to go take a break on the other side we need to do something letter on my head -- between between talking about politics here in Massachusetts and talking about politics nationally. We're gonna get off this we're gonna start talking about the Oscar nominations came up this week we got Robert wants he. Who does some work for Ebert and roper who's going to come on -- talk about the nominees is going to talk about whether or not think certain people are gonna win and lose. Now whether -- not your favorite movie made the -- not and of course I don't know if you guys saw this -- dead because you're so well educated Heath ledger he died but everybody everybody's talking about this -- he was a young Marlon Brando when I have no idea where that came from I wish I knew I quit you. I guess that could announcer and talk about that on the other side to break I'm John Gonzales. Trying to hold down while my cohost on O'Brien is recovering. Six or 72666868 talk about the Oscars only get back this is AM six AD WR KL.
Got to imagine right now is feeling stressed it's it's what the -- before the Michigan primary every insane to do or die form which I don't know that I totally agree with but I he's he's got to do well. So you know let's let's let's not relax a little bit and in Macau from governor Schwarzenegger. Maybe he thinks he can get an endorsement.
How are you. Bruises and we don't Schwarzenegger yeah. Are you I'm just fine governor are you -- today could -- it. But I do for you here's movement which is good -- know you. Well we've that we've had a chance to ask you when your questions that intensity immediately go right ahead and shoot bipartisanship holds my principles of leadership Broncos global politics. Well I don't think anyone can disagree with that lose your identity and what does he do
