Iraq says it's time for change Hillary says she's ready for change. And Giuliani says his -- change of bad changed. The time there a change of thugs are headed to -- into hour six I'm 72666868 on -- bread agenda bell is looking at those crazy Iowa caucus voters and then. Headed into New Hampshire what do you expect what do you think we'll see and how much will Iowa high impact New Hampshire.
We have Jessica advanced sack on line from the houses a political reporter she's in New Hampshire right now calling us she's with the Romney campaign just Fiat there. How how I guess I -- so I I couldn't wait to talk to you I thought dead the bigger story coming out of violent addition to you know the number of Democrats -- the turnout was a really so much who won. As who in fact lost their -- goes effort for months goes on and on and on about how big island is for him he had spent some twenty million dollars of his own money including some nearly seven million dollars in TV advertising alone to lose by nine points you're out there with Romney. Have they banned shoelaces and sharp objects from his campaign bus yet.
A couple of a absolutely in the -- actually act. They're going on the offensive and continued duke and they and they will not stop the regular diet about -- are are they concerned that there is yeah that's the question yes absolutely they're concerned that they intact. Unveiled the new pics today and it would actually wrote about brother Harold already they're saying that he is changing didn't candidates.
other -- candidate in what ask her why you're laughing Jessica edited this is serious serious step in and answer primary but everybody the Hillary is ready for change for Iraq represents change Giuliani knows the difference between good and bad change. And already seizing that words and now he's the change agent.
In fact he is putting himself in league with Barack Obama saying essentially. I am the European version of Barack Obama and and being rather complimentary of the democratic candidate it's saying that the similarities. And there excuse for change some parts and advocates for change in different ways Jessica let's see it did before I knew beyond her Washington broke can't. So expected to be part of it on these newly retooled its.
And especially helpful for him be it against McCain who announced her -- as -- you know it's easy have to paint is the insider.
you said you know we have people cleaning the maverick and claiming that they're going to do things about the port the port king in Washington but it still happens year after year clearly a reference to McCain he's turn came McCain as the Washington insider is that the -- is Washington and he's he's saying that he has. Basically has the politicians are holding to their -- by circumstance people urged into Iraq that type of thing.
Jessica man sat political part of the herald joins us Jessica let's let's cut through. Through Romney's message right now there was garbage I think he's in a lot of trouble coming out of violent adding New Hampshire a lot of people believe that if he doesn't. We doesn't pull off a victory in New Hampshire that that basically sets this up. For two man race heading into tsunami Tuesday in and all but skulls Romney's campaign. Is that is that what you're sensing his wound and what is what's the feeling in New Hampshire right now are people talking about baton and and how's he doing in New Hampshire because he basically he basically let McCain get a stronghold in New Hampshire while he was off losing and I'll see I think he's going to look at -- it and just my -- is on the Chinese New Hampshire -- feeling.
It depends on well and -- depend on which poll you're reading in the latest graphic art that it all happened. Still had a McCain about McCain within striking distance from bird and increasingly that because he would be able to -- a strong foothold here last week on news that since it for Iowa so. Particularly is like that you're right primary or on the on Tuesday so he asked to and you think well I think pedal how. The conventional political is campaign while not clearly state that -- and out thing. The second inning about like fifteen inning game -- the interests they're trying you it's.
Jessica what what do they what is there. General statement their their response to the a simple question what happened in Iowa.
They are completely banning it not a lot I'll -- out there they're saying that. Romney actually wind over to read Croat household names. That is being McCain and Giuliani and -- and not mentioning Huckabee who much on the campaign trip out here and your answer just sort of hoping that that. Aspect of being with a huge aspect is being is completely ignore eight you know they're they're basically completely spinning.
Jessica I want to switch over real quick to the to democratic side thought. What we saw with Obama in Iowa was eerily reminiscent of what we saw in the gubernatorial race in the gubernatorial primary specifically with Deval Patrick here. And vote momentum and energy surrounding his campaign and and specifically message I mean hope and optimism and M I was in my miners it's the same thing -- on a bigger scale.
Now you're absolutely right in fact Deval Patrick was. Something or are Obama for three days I saw the two of them met in fort Madison with the -- on the Illinois border I in Iowa add their masses is very much alive and the it was like hearing. That being -- and until when they and I really was the governor getting up there and and saying that. -- you know a lot about the coincidences you know in elections and that he's -- that. That oh win it happen and it happened not deter her Obama that it beacon capital again in Massachusetts and he thinks what happened. In a parallel way under national scale you're Barack Obama.
Jessica -- sat on the line we're going to take your calls after we let it go we know. She's got a busy schedule reporter for the herald a commuter in the paper on line it's Alan -- and John Gonzales talking about the Iowa result. And what -- not -- expect Kennedy junior for the Hillary factor is so fascinating to his desk because everyone has talked of course from the start about the obvious her polarizing factor her high negatives. What has to happen for her in New Hampshire she have to wind. Because four Obama two that's satellite that that it's actually inspired a lot of people whom I care about politics because he is Sonya Wright a one term senator 46 black and her high negatives most people believe can't overcome that kind of energy and energy on those talking about. That that surrounds -- what what do people thing has to happen for -- her in New Hampshire and is the Clinton it the Clinton campaign still saying where where unbeatable Iowa means nothing right.
Correct one of the biggest things to come out of Iowa -- that. Deceitful or for Hillary Clinton basically questioning the quote inevitability of her candidacy also. Getting Barack Obama huge moment and it was. And I need fetuses mr. Numbers stories in the paper today. About the -- defense. And her campaign where they're looking in the exit polls and not paying attention to the sort of popularity contest that these things and -- was. What -- at the -- totally contradictory to having. Bill Clinton by her side on the stump many times so yeah. I would feel that humans -- senator Clinton and here she is but had you -- your act you can dollar Carol -- between the Clinton campaign in the Romney campaign. -- both had been in -- cancer but have opponents within striking distance I am in the states and I will be critical for both candidates Clinton and around me.
Yeah I absolutely agree with you Jessica -- we were talking about this a little bit earlier about how. You know people -- sad well the clintons have been in tougher spots in this before and a lot of people of likened you know in New Hampshire in 1992 was it was a boon for Bill Clinton Cheney called himself the comeback kid in the ended up going on to win the nomination I don't think it's the same though because. At least on the very surface level people liked Bill Clinton thought people as. As Allen is mentioned really get behind my lover hey -- really get behind Hillary but so I want to know is I think she's in a lot of trouble I think New Hampshire is absolutely integral just as you said that there's a lot of can't parallels between what needs to happen for Romney's campaign in New Hampshire one needs to happen for Hillary's campaign let's put you on the spot right now if you. You're batting woman what do you think moving forward who's got -- who's got the -- to win the nomination Obama or Hillary.
How -- fact that the top. Question I know I really try to stay away from making predictions in the end because -- compromised by my reporting.
Secular clear all of leaning one way or the other -- they would not the pin -- down a 100% ahead by Brett I appreciate you trying to preserve some integrity while bonds attractive correct you.
Yeah yeah I made. What I will say is that anybody else is that they know what could happen is frankly.
Are probably our sound that's not the -- our premise that this hour and twenty minutes so far has been if anybody's telling you they know what's going to happen or they they can't explain I -- it to you they're lying Jessica no degree Jessica. And don't let me tell you I know all about Thailand and Obama he's going to win and I'm telling you right now just -- joining -- stress reliever look at -- Harold keep doing great job
